Barney Frank admitted in a recent interview with Ralph Nader that democrats are, “trying on every front to increase the role of government.”
No kidding.
Via NewsBusters
How’s that working out for you, Barney?
Record unemployment–
The US unemployment rate rose from 7.6% to 9.8% under Obama… the highest rate in 26 years.

Bureau of Labor Statistics- via Sweetness and Light
Obama said with the Stimulus Bill the unemployment rate would not go over 8% but the unemployment rate is currently at 9.7%.
Record Deficits–
Democrats tripled the national deficit in about 9 months.

Obama promised 2,500,000 million jobs…
But so far his record “stimulus” package has only created 30,083.

Maybe one of the resident trolls could write a quick piece on where increasing the role of government, increasing from the approximate size of the US government, has ever worked.
This shouldn’t take long, Democrats have been trying to increase the size of government since I was a kid, so they must have some sort of argument. Where have these ideas worked?

Nine months of Obama/Pelosi/Reid and we’re in the worst depression since the one FDR and his National Recovery Act elongated for 16 years.
How much more ruin can we endure?
Don’t answer. We are going to suffer it soon enough.

Barney Frank is a gluttonous pig from all angles. He is intoxicated by an over consumption of power, government and money. Notice you can never tell when his eyes are open and it often looks like he is clenching a bong between his legs.

If there is an argument out there that makes the case that the Republic will not stand, it is Barney Frank.
The fact that this execrable character continues to be elected by the people of Massachusetts says it all.
Without one redeeming quality that I can discern, he and his ilk are repeatedly handed the reins of government by an utterly ignorant and self-destructive electorate.

They’re also “trying on every front” to assure all Americans toe the line. Not just news agencies. Here’s this (details sketchy, I was waking up to Dennis Miller’s radio show):
Caller said he was applying for some government position when the interviewer pulled out a photo of his wife(!) attending a Tea Party. The guy couldn’t believe they knew who his wife was and had that picture of her.
As Miller told the man, “I’d run, not walk, from that job. This is too creepy.” He added later, “I don’t know about this Obama…”

Barney was right about one thing, Republicans did lower the image of government….when they started governing like Democrates.

Something to keep in mind
The government has failed dramatically in its effort to make the swine flu vaccine widely available. We’re quickly approaching the time by which this was supposed to have been accomplished, but the government is nowhere close to having accomplished it. In July the Obama administration said that 80 to 120 million doses could be ready by mid-October. But now, in late October, only about 16.5 millions doses have become available.
When a similar faiure occurred in 2004, the Democrats blamed President Bush. But I don’t blame President Obama. I blame the fact that the federal government isn’t very good at delivering most services in a timely manner. The stated reasons vary from case to case, but the result is generally the same.

Completely missed in these comments is that someting does have to be doewn about derivative trading. The overleveraging of resold and repackaged mortgages created false wealth and played the major, major role in crashing the economy.
Another major factor in the crash last year that got virtually no mention was the rising price of fuel, oil, and especially gasoline. This pushed millions, who were on the brink, over the edge.
The speculation that occurs on the oil markets is false capitalism. Right now when reports agree that supplies are up and demand is down, oil prices are rising. The oil market system results in a price that is manipulated to the detriment of American interests.
Couple the lack of action on these two issues with the tremendous and unprecedented infusion of cash into the economy by the Fed, and we still have ingredients cooking up a recipe for disaster.

flashback re: mortgages
[Sadly, this perception of political correctness is out of touch with reality. According to a September 2003 report by a GSE watchdog group, Fannie Mae Policy Focus, Fannie lags far behind the market in facilitating housing for minority and first-time buyers. As a matter of fact, the GSEs buy less than 10 percent of private sector loans to first-time African-American and Hispanic purchasers. Moreover, Fannie and Freddie acquired “more loans made to absentee landlords, vacation homes, and second mortgages than first-time homebuyer loans,” according to the report.
It appears that very little of the implicit taxpayer subsidy to the GSEs is fulfilling that politically correct dream. This failure, compounded by an accounting scandal, should be red meat for story-driven TV journalists. As the analysis proves, that hasn’t been the case.]

He said “…we are trying on every front to increase the role of government in the regulatory arena.”
You conveniently left off the last 4 words, which distorts the meaning of the quote.
In any case, government support for the housing/mortgage market is the primary thing keeping our economy afloat right now. Unwinding that is going to be a long and painful process if it ever happens.
