BS Alert: The White House today claimed today that President Barack Obama’s economic stimulus plan has so far saved or created more than one million jobs.
The US unemployment spiked from 7.6% to 9.8% this year under Obama… the highest rate in 26 years.

Chart from the Bureau of Labor Statistics- via Sweetness and Light
Obama promised with the Stimulus Bill the unemployment rate would not go over 8% but the unemployment rate is currently at 9.8%.
In reality the US has lost 3.3 million jobs since the Obama-Pelosi stimulus act passed.
More… This is not a good sign for the White House…
Even the state-run media is questioning their bogus numbers:

When lawyers come up with a new economic metric it should be dismissed out of hand. Here is a figure that they are allegedly arriving at by calling companies that they have given money to and asking them how many jobs they have “saved or created”. What in God’s name does any thinking peron believe that the companies would say? They want the government spigot to stay on so they know what to say. If you believe this number you should be considered ignorant or Joe Biden or both.

This is very OT, but VERY important.
I think you should check out the ramifications of Copenhagen.

It’s gotten to the point where anyone who believes any information coming out of the White House is an idiot. They continually send out misinformation and down right lie to the American people. I’ve never seen anything like this administration. Obama is a liar. Pelosi is a liar. Reid is a liar. Rush is right, they need to be prosecuted. But is anyone up to the challenge to start speaking out and actually doing something about it? This little house of cards will implode with just one person coming out with the truth. The person would become an American hero, for sure.

Obama’s still correct. Had the Democrats healthcare bill passed, we would have seen another 5+ million jobs lost.
The “created or saved” claim is subsequently accurate until Reid and Pelosi get their hands around the neck of another industry and kill it.

[...] You can tell in blogging when there is some low hanging fruit for you to post on. The bogus jobs claims by the administration today is just one such case. First, let me set this up with a CBS News clip on the shoddy statistics used to produce those fictional ‘created or saved’ jobs (H/T Gateway Pundit): [...]

I still believe the Dems are hanging on to the stimulus money and will, at the proper time before the 2010 election, flood the job market with the stimulus money to create jobs to make themselves look like “heros” in the eyes of the voters. IMO, citizens need to keep a wary eye on this Administration and know they are the most cunning and ruthless people in our Nation.

I love how their number keeps climbing everyday, first it was 38,000, then 70,000, now 650,000, and 10 minutes later it is 1 million. Amazing abilities of economic gymnastics. Truly impressive.

Using the Whine Cribs logic I can claim to have save or created thousands of jobs. I went into Mac D and bought a burger. I saved the jobs of people who sold it to me.The jobs of the people who transported the burger. The jobs of the people who processed the burger. The jobs of the people who grew the beef.
I saved the Economy. Bow down to me for I am Great!!!
