A leading scholar on communist China was shocked to hear that Obama’s White House Communications Directory Anita Dunn is a huge fan of mass murderer Mao Tse-Tung.
Anita Dunn praised Mao Tse-Tung in a recent speech to high school graduates.

The communist leader killed over 65 million individuals during his reign of terror.
CNSNews reported:

White House Communications Director Anita Dunn told high school students in May 2009 that one of her favorite political philosophers was Mao Tse Tung, the Communist dictator responsible for the death of millions of people, and she explained why his philosophy was important for achieving personal and political goals.

When questioned last week after a video of her speech surfaced, however, Dunn said she was using “irony” in reference to Mao. A leading expert on China told CNSNews.com that Dunn’s remarks were “pathetic,” given the human rights atrocities committed under Mao’s reign.

As first shown on Fox News Channel’s “Glenn Beck” show on Thursday, Oct. 15, in the video Dunn told graduating high school students that Mao and Mother Teresa, the Catholic nun known for aiding the poor, were examples of people who did not give up, and did their own thing to make a difference in the world…

Policies implemented under Mao Tse Tung, including the civil war, the Great Leap Forward, the Cultural Revolution, and persecution in Tibet, among other policies, led to death of an estimated 65 million people, according to The Black Book of Communism (Harvard University Press), which is considered by scholars as one of the best sources on communist atrocities.

Mao also outlawed religion and sent at least 2.5 million people to “re-education camps,” called “laogai,” which were similar to the slave-labor camps in the Gulag of the Soviet Union. An estimated 1,000 laogai reportedly are still in operation today.

While Dunn now says she was using “irony” when she called Mao one of her favorite political philosophers, an expert on Mao’s three-decade rule in China thinks the remarks she made in May 2009 to the students were “pathetic.”

William Ratliff, an expert on China with the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, said he found Dunn’s comments astonishing regardless of her larger point, and wondered whether Dunn is aware of the Great Leap Forward or the Cultural Revolution, or if Dunn was trying to look at Mao’s positive accomplishments.

    What does Anita Dunn implying? Does she mean pretend that you are compassionate like Mother Theresa by doing Mao style rule, mass murdering millions of your opponents? What an irony!

    Her response to the criticism of her statement is a crock. There was not a speck of “irony” in her tone. She said he was one of her favorite political philosophers — no conditions, no explanations, no apologies were applied to that remark. What a feeble spin she is trying to put on this.

    What is up with her tongue? I don’t know if I can stomach watching that video again. It’s kind of like a high school history teacher I had who had bushy eyebrows and they would move up and down almost involuntarily…it was distracting and pretty funny. However, Dunn’s tongue is not only distracting…it’s really gross!

    I couldnt believe it but yesterday, some liberal guy on Hannity said that there was not a shred of evidence that she said that she admired Mao. He said that Dunn was probably quoting a Chinese proverb or something that just happened to mention Mao. He said that conservatives had just made the quote up and there was no documentation, that we have nothing on her but hearsay.

    The irony is that America has fallen so low that these SOB’s can now tell the truth about how they really feel and who they admire most.

    As are undereducated “yutes” think he Che, Chavez are cool (thanks hollywod and liberal teachers), and education program could and should be implemented.

    More pictures and statistics should be everywhere.

    Same with living conditions of these so called socialist and communist fabulous ways of life.

    Our “yutes” would come crying home to mommy after one day in a poor district of Rio.

    Anita Dunn and I are probably in the same age range. And I went to a university with a very good reputation. I promise you, it’s not like she actually had exposure to really great philosophers. You can read Mao over a cup of coffee in about an hour. The Little Red Book is a comic book for twenty year olds. Ezra Pound’s translation of Confucious is just too difficult. So it’s not like she has had an extensive background in philosophy and history and settled on Mao. She probably named the two of the only three philosophers whose names she could recall.

    “The irony is that America has fallen so low that these SOB’s can now tell the truth about how they really feel and who they admire most.”

    Tragically Hitler sums that up best:

    “How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don’t think.”

    Mao was the greatest mass murderer of all time, beating Hitler, Stalin and Hirohito combined.

    Mao–75,000,000 (40,000,000 in the ‘great leap’)
    Stalin–40,000,000
    Hitler–20,000,000
    Hirohito–10,000,000
    Lenin–5,000,000
    Pol Pot–2,000,000
    Hitler/Hirohito allies in WWII–2,000,000
    North Korea–1,000,000
    Communist East Europe–1,000,000
    Civilians killed by Nazis/Communists–176,000,000

    Keep in mind…these are only civilian deaths, not those of soldiers who the tyrants lead to their deaths. Counting them would lead to a figure in excess of 200,000,000.

    As for Mao’s political philosophy…:

    “We may loose more than 300,000,000 people. So what. War is war. The years will pass and we’ll get back to producing more babies than ever before.”

    “People say that China loves peace. That’s boasting. In fact the Chinese love struggle. I do for one.”

    Quite honestly I think these people like Stalin more than Mao:

    “Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas.”

    “The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.”

    “If the opposition disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves.”

    Unfortunately, Mao’s image is “cool” with high school students in the same way that Che’s is.

    And how can we blame them for that? After all, their teachers in the classroom think that Mao and Che are “cool” and have extended that understanding on to them in their lessons.

    Dunn was only parroting the prevailing mindset. If we listen to the audience response to Dunn’s speech, we can clearly hear them laugh in response to the arcane juxtaposition of Mother Teresa and Chairman Mao.

    Dick Morris said the other night that Anita Dunn was leaving her job at the end of Dec. I guess she feels she can say anything she wants . Can’t wait to see who or what they replace her with! As the world looks Obama’s people keep putting nails in our coffin. Wake up America

    It was obvious from the campaign and learning about Obama’s past that if elected, we would see the emergence of an Obama Gestapo and a war against Christianity. Maybe now after they are going after Fox News, siding with Totalitarians, ignoring the historical fall of Communism, and siding with radicals will people realize what is going on.

    Forget Afganistan, the question is would a 10% population shock do the trick. When you are bringing that particular kind of ‘hope and change’ that Mao brought, no wasting time.
    Fortunately for Dear Leader he has a woman on the team who appreciates the pathfinding work done by Mao.
    I, as it happens, have also given the subject thought.
    All the boy wonder has to do is run a double rail line to the Grand Canyon and start dumping away. He’ll have the American people purring like kittens in no time at all.

    I hope Anita Dunn is aware of the fact that Mao’s stormtroopers would have come for her very early in the Cultural Revolution. She would not have survived.

    Considering recent research up to over 70 million deaths is more accurate.

    It’s telling that when Anita Dunn thinks of quotes about people doing things their own way she chooses Mao. There must be at least hundreds of examples of people who’ve done things their own way to change their world without being mass murderers. Even the Mother Theresa quote was a little scathing toward followers rather than uplifting. I wonder how hard she had to look for such an unsympathetic quote.

    Mao = “re-education camps!”
    Mao = “bisexual s/m pedophile”
    Mao = “Mass Murderer”
    Anita Dunn = “Loves the Mao.”
    Bozo = “Loves the Mao.”
    R. Bloom = “Loves the Mao.”
