Vice President Joe Biden, for supposed foreign policy wonk in the Obama Administration, can’t find a single military strategist to sign off on his Afghanistan plan.
Bill Roggio at The Weekly Standard Blog reported:

If you want to see just how little credence Vice President Joe Biden’s plan for Afghanistan has inside military circles, look no further than this paragraph from an article written by Peter Spiegel and Yochi Dreazen for the Wall Street Journal:

People familiar with the internal debates say Mr. Obama rejected a strictly counter-terror approach during White House deliberations in early October. One official said Pentagon strategists were asked to draft brief written arguments making the best case for each strategy, but the strategists had difficulties writing out a credible case for the counter-terror approach — prompting members of Mr. Biden’s staff to step in and write the document themselves.

In case that wasn’t clear, not a single strategist in the Pentegon was willing to draft a paper to defend the Biden plan. No one wanted to put their name on the document. So, members of Biden’s staff — political appointees — had to write the brief.

Who’s more of a buffoon, Biden or Obama? That’s a real head scratcher. Each is a total clown in his own way.

I think Biden is actually stupider, in that he makes even dumber proposals.

Obama is dumber because he put Biden in charge of these things. Smart power!

“I think Biden is actually stupider, in that he makes even dumber proposals.”

Biden did say “we need to spend more to avoid bankruptcy”. Now I have hear a lot of stupid things, including being called a Communist for supporting the free market, but this I have to say is the dumbest thing I have ever heard about anything. Biden reminds me of a slightly younger version of Carter.

Brilliant point, both of you. I stand corrected. Obama is far stupider.

This is entirely consistent with the approach Joey Hair-Transplant has taken throughout its entire misbegotten career. It’s reputation for indolence is remarkable – if its staff doesn’t read material and tell it where to stand, it ignores the issue, but the positions it does take come from a galaxy far, far, away.

Thank God the Pentagon is putting our troops safety first!! I wonder who they will blame and throw under the bus for this. Will they say the Pentagon is un-American?? What a JOKE these people are.

    Jim,
Thank you for posting this. Coincident to your post, I’ve just posted a letter written by Military Moms to the chair and ranking members of both the Senate and House Armed Forces committees. Along with that post, I also published the video they produced that Glenn Beck ran on his TV show earlier this week.

This is nothing to take lightly. My heart breaks for our men and women in harm’s way and for their families who are infuriated at what they see happening — rather, NOT happening — in Washington.

I’ll leave the link if your readers want to see it. It will leave a mark. It did me…

And again, thank you for posting this Jim. We need to put as much pressure on these SOBs as we can muster.

When was the last time that “General” Biden was right about anything?

    Remember this Biden quote?

Mark my words, within the next — first six months of this administration, if we win, they’re going to — we’re going to face a major international challenge, ’cause they’re going to want to test him, just like they did John Kennedy, they’re going to want to test him, and they’re going to find out this guy’s got steel in his spine.

Does that make your toes curl or what? Which is worse, the barefaced dishonesty or the fifth-rate, melodramatic cheesiness, like in the climax of a Steven Seagal movie?

I work in the Pentagon (and Crystal City).

This is a common sentiment throughout DoD as a whole. Particularly among my operational planning/strategic planning/military intelligence brethren.

There is a genuine fear of the WH (and NSC) jacking this up and…well, let’s just say many people from many quarters are doing whatever they can to prevent that. Emphasis on “whatever” and “many.”

You have no idea how much the American people have gratitude in hearing you say this!!!
Sometimes we feel alone in expressing our distain in what is happening to our country.
But we are also aware of the all important oath that the American people in our government have taken to protect against the enemy, either foreign or domestic and in support of the American people and country; just know that Americans are behind you in fighting along with you. God bless our troops and the sacrifice they make for the American people and our country.
