You must pay homage. You must not mock.
obama sign
Mr. Hopenchange cannot stand ridicule.
Obama whined to leftie reporters about FOX News during their private meeting earlier this week.
The New York Times reported, via HotAir:

Speaking privately at the White House on Monday with a group of columnists and commentators, including Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann of MSNBC and Maureen Dowd, Frank Rich and Bob Herbert of The New York Times, President Obama himself gave vent to sentiments about the network, according to people briefed on the conversation…

Mr. Clemente suggested that the fight with Fox was part of a larger White House strategy to marginalize critics. He cited a report in Politico about a strategy session in August at which officials discussed plans to move more aggressively against opponents.

White House officials acknowledged that Fox News did come up at that meeting, although not, they said, as a central topic. A number of issues had been added to the White House’s list of grievances by then, including the network’s heavy coverage of some of the more heavily anti-administration commentary at town-hall-style meetings on health care and Mr. Beck’s remark that Mr. Obama “has a deep-seated hatred for white people.”

obama sign 2
It’s driving him crazy that not everyone adores his disastrous policies and socialist plans.

Fox News is absolutely dominating every aspect of the nightly news race. Not only does FOX receive more viewers than HLN, MSNBC and CNN combined but the O’Reilley reruns at 11PM get more viewers than any other show at their competitors. How’s that war against FOX going?

It is embarrassing that this guy was elected president with only community organizing on his sheet. All he knows is thugary and is showing and practicing it well. He uses his Czars to act and take the blame and then acts like he had no idea what was going on, BUT agrees with their acts. 2010 will right the ship so he can be controlled till 2012. Vote out the trash, keep and recycle right minds and lets get some new blood in the Congress.

    Ken,
Whose side are you on, anyway?
No one, not a single solitary soul is claiming that “Bush-good”, “Obama-bad”.
What brought me here, to Gateway Pundit, was the search for news that I was not getting from, MSNBC,CNN, etc. I was searching for the truth….How can one make an informed conclusion, if they don’t have the facts to begin with?
Fox news was the only media outlet on TV that would tell the whple story about Obama. After Hilary dropped out of the race, the other news networks dropped their scrutiny of Obama.
Do you think we enjoy having a president who is untrustworthy?
Do you think we derive some satisfaction from watching our country being destroyed from within?
I don’t know about you, but it bothers me that I have no idea of the president of the Unitedd States has allegiance to this country!!
Bush made all sorts of mistakes. But I never once questioned his love for this nation, or even God.
You seem to be very nice, and intelligent. I don’t understand how you can gloss over what the currnet administration is doing, by bringing up the past.
God is looking for Truth-bearers right now. Those who will open their mouths and speak the TRUTH, no matter what the cost.
Your concern is the tone. Forget that.
We are in a battle for the very soul of his nation.
As Hypogean stated in another thread, someone who is truly searching for the truth, won’t be turned off tone. And GP is like a children’s book compared to many blogs!!
So as one of those who USED to swing my vote, I think this blog is spot on. Because of the posters here, their knowledge, information, experiences (and wit:-), I was inspired to dig deeper on my own, to search things out for myself, as it pertains to politics.
The rabid left is just that. Rabid.
Besides all of that, God is bigger than “tone”. Think John the Baptist, think Elisha, think Nathan when he outed David out. What aout Jesus’ tone in the temple when he dealt with the money changers?
Have a blessed day Ken, and may God light a fire under you bottom:-)

    Crystal,

I hate it when Obama and Co. lie and I hated it when Bush and Cheney and Gonzalez, etc. lied. If you think this administration is setting a new low, perhaps you should have been reading more liberal blogs for the previous 8 years: politics is a dirty business, and while I don’t excuse that, the fact is that every administration can be faulted ethically in multiple ways.

What sort of “news” are you getting from Gateway Pundit? Pelosi was embarrassed on national TV? Obama complained to media allies about Fox? Chris Matthews compared you folks to the Taliban? The White House tried to ban Fox from a media pool? Oh, here’s a story of actual importance: White House Admits Stimulus Losing Steam. You could have read that in the NY Times or Washington Post and other liberal publications.

I don’t know about you, but it bothers me that I have no idea of the president of the Unitedd States has allegiance to this country!!

I’m sorry, but that’s just not rational. Liberals and conservatives have long disagreed about America’s role in the world, and about its relative impact for good and evil. Liberals don’t deny the good we do, but they recognize the harm we’ve done as well. May on the right try to portray that as unpatriotic. I call it humble and realistic and smart foreign policy.

Your concern is the tone. Forget that.
We are in a battle for the very soul of his nation.

Christ was in a battle for souls, and he spoke bluntly, but did he rant and rave? You’re making excuses. Liberal sin does not excuse conservative sin. You can criticize and disagree and still remain civil, and if you want to bring people around to your point of view, you’d better. We’re Christians, remember? We’re supposed to love our enemies, not call them scumbags and retards and sacks of dung and the like.

What was Jesus tone when he outed the moneychangers? _Jesus_ was without sin. Better to ask what his tone is when he confronts us with _our_ sin.

And I agree with the heart of your statement here. No one is above the law/constitution.

Having said that, many here probably do have critical things to say about previous administrations, but none of them are in office now. It is a diversion tactic for those on the left to still be using Bush as an object of scorn instead of addressing what policies are being made now with the current WH and congress.

If those stuck on “It’s Bushes fault” would be honest they would have to be more objective with what is happening now.

As noted before, Bush treated the press the same way, denying close access to liberal outlets and inviting right wing talk show hosts to the White House.

    Ken,
Most of us have read the left’s numerous, over-the-top assessments of Palin during the past year.

There is even a paperback of rehash by the left coming out on the same day as Sarah’s book,… gee, what a coincidence.

    Sorry, Ken, you are disingenuous.

KR, would you care to debate Palin’s worthiness for office, and character shown while in office? I think some of the Left’s coverage has been over to top, but not most.

Ken, before 9/11 I was a centrust that would not choose a side even though I was a veteran. Now I lean mostly towards the conservative side.

I support what Bush did in Iraq because he made the decision after 9/11 to fight a pro-active war. Saddam had uranium and had every intention of building a nuclear weapon therefore removing him was essential for US security. Bush and Cheney’s main concern was keeping America safe. You can disagree but that doesn’t mean you are right.

I agree. That doesn’t mean they always went about it honestly or ethically.

You can disagree but that doesn’t mean you are right.

Finally, something we can fully agree on. :-)

Sorry, but you are not honest.
Why don’t you go to Kos and debate them for the sake of balance.

    Ken,
One of the cries of my heart is to love o0thers the way God loves them. To see them the way He sees them. I am, by nature, full of wickedness and evil. It is by the grace of God, that my blinders were taken off. Deception no longer has a grip on me. When I commit a I wrong, I know it. When I sin, I am full aware of it.
Having said that, I think we both know where we stand. I respect your decision to be middle of the road. I choose to burn hot with the fire and love of God. I choose to denounce evil in my leadership, I choose to not be conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of my mind.
Since we are both parts of one Body,, the Body of Christ, I think we have more in common than not. So let our common ground, the love for Christ, and the love of God be a starting point. You speak your mind, I will speak mine, but more importantly this…as followers of Christ, let us both be sure we are speaking from His heart.:-)
To know God, is to love God.
To love God, is to fear God.
To fear (holy, reverential) God, is to obey God. All of God, not just the parts of Him that we are comfortable with.
I think you will agree with that:-)
    Be blessed!
    Be blessed.

Sorry…I just don’t think it’s because Obama’s thin skinned that he can’t take criticism. Having the citizens of this country actually know what he’s doing who he’s surrounded himself with and having one part of the media not kissing his A@@ is just unacceptable. This is about Chicago thuggary politics with Chavez envy thrown in for good measure. He successfully controlled the message of the MSM before the election and he wants complete control over it now. He’s taking America down the path of one party rule and he doesn’t want anything standing in his way. Just because he acts like a petulant whiny child doesn’t mean there isn’t a sinister plan to be implemented. Has this country ever been run by such degraded beings as the ones in charge now…I’ll answer my own question….No.

    Ken #56.

Do you “embrace” Barack Obama? The Christian right has some “legitimate criticisms” of him.

Does Ken, the “concerned” Christian, find troubling another Christian who has never stopped a crazed public from deifying him?

Is Ken so “concerned” about the gospel that he might find a “legitimate criticism” or two of Obama’s church of Jeremiah Wright who teaches lies from the pulpit along with hate and envy instead of the Truth of the Cross: love and forgiveness?

Because, if you cannot find it within yourself to criticize those fellow “Christians” — I might be inclined to think you lack integrity.

One Way, I think you have some very legitimate criticisms of him, and I agree that Obama can be vain and arrogant, although I can hardly blame a politician for exploiting his own charisma.

But criticism can be civil and can recognize good intentions behind foolish actions, or it can presume the worst about its object in every way possible, and can stoop from love and principle to sport, as in Hofts’ Totus Punks Potus headline.

And yes, while I empathize with Jeremiah Wright as a man scarred by racism, some of his comments have been outrageous and shameful, and I do not see racism behind every bush as he does.

I find it very hard to believe you’re a Christian, Ken.

Christians who know the work of the Lord Jesus Christ in their lives would not for one minute allow anyone to confuse them with the Messiah.

Their faces would carry the impact of that deception, and they would not hide the name of the true savior.

And yet, you “can hardly blame a politician for exploiting his own charisma” — wow.

As for Wright, it’s shocking that one, who claims to be a Christian, does not see that a pastor’s statements are not something more than “outrageous and shameful” — but in fact, incredibly harmful to the soul of a vulnerable Christian.

Paul said, “If I preach anything, it will be the Cross.” It’s as if Jeremiah Wright buries the Cross as easily as Obama buries Jesus.

I’m not surprised you’ve made light of the errors of those you embrace while magnifying the errors of those with whom you disagree.

You’re either a fraud, Ken, or one sorry Christian who needs to discern true evil.

    One Way,

    1) Obama has never called himself the Messiah, and his supporters, many of whom sadly are cynical scoffers, have never spoken of him in such religious terms. You guys have mocked him as the Messiah, that’s all. He has never presented himself in those terms, and Michelle (remember that they’re very close) regulary mocks him for how he’s lionized).

Personally, while I don’t want to presume to know his relationship with God any more than I want to presume to know that of his critics, he strikes me as someone more impressed with the Christian ideals of charity and equal worth before God than someone who has opened himself to God as a person. But again, this is just my own speculation.

    2) I agree that, at least from what I’ve seen of Wright, the cross is not at the heart of his theology, and as such he misunderstands the gospel. But I believe love is of God, and I believe that a love for social justice, which is a love for people, is God-given. I moved out of fundamentalism a long time ago. When we get to heaven we’re going to see a lot of people we never recognized as loving God as they knew how, as walking in the little light they had. We all sin, and as such are blinded to one degree or another by our sin. We all fall off the horse, whether to the left or to the right.

Of course Obama has never called himself the Messiah. He’s not stupid. But others have. Farrakhan comes to mind.

It’s as I said: he’s never corrected the record. And therein lies the evil. He knows that many – all around the world – look to him as some sort of deity.

I would think love for those little ones would require us to expose the deceit.

Obama, even more than Wright it seems, is comfortable with his lies. And we’re witnessing his ability in that regard to be on a rather grand scale. It would appear those lies don’t bother you either.

You seem to know the bible quite well. Is Satan not the “Father of lies?”

If we believe our salvation is in Christ, then we should expose those who would turn us away from Him. I would beware the men who say they’re believers, yet bury Christ and His Cross.

Obama and Wright have used the church for their own purposes. They seem to have spent more time preying than praying.

Yes. We all fall short and sin. Some injure only themselves. Others injure others grievously as well.

“You will know them by their fruit.” What’s been coming out of Chicago has been pretty rotten, I’d say.

This is the goofiest thing I’ve ever read. A marginal leader whom everyone except his followers thinks is unbalanced and worse calls Obama the Messiah (did he really? I don’t remember that?), which is completely nutty (and Farrakhan isn’t even a Christian!), and Obama is supposed to even acknowledge what the guy said????

I quit. You’re seeing what you want to see.
