This democrat’s no cut-and-runner…
Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) stands by his attack on Linda Robertson, an adviser to Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, calling her a “K Street whore.”

Grayson won’t step down.
CBS News reported:

Grayson has been widely criticized for his comment, as Politico and the Associated Press report. Republican Washington Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers said Grayson is “out of control,” while Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner asked, “Is this news to you that this guy’s one fry short of a Happy Meal?”

“Alan Grayson’s latest comments are disgraceful, inappropriate and disrespectful to women,” RNC Co-Chairman Jan Larimer said, calling on Grayson to issue an apology.

That seems unlikely to happen. Todd Jurkowski, Grayson’s spokesman, sent an email to Hotsheet standing by the comment and further criticizing Robertson.

“Let’s be clear about the context,” he said. “The attack was on her professional career, not her personal life.”

“She attacked the Congressman and his efforts to promote a Republican bill to audit the Federal Reserve,” Jurkowski said. “She actually questioned his understanding of the difference between fiscal and monetary policy. She had the audacity to attack a Congressman who used to be an economist. She’s a career lobbyist who used to work for Enron and advocates for whatever she gets paid to promote.”

President Obama told supporters last night that Grayson is outstanding.

UPDATE: The knuckle-dragging Neanderthal apologized.

I’ll give him a pass on this, auditing the federal reserve is a worthwhile effort. He might be useful in some situations. If some woman has to be insulted in the process, that’s just how the government works.
He is still a loon and needs to be committed but you know the old saying “keep your friends close, keep your enemies even closer.”
As far as VP Cheney, he probably took the insult as a compliment. He’s been called worst by bigger more important people.

Why is it that every criticism of or even disagreement with a liberal is now characterized as an “attack”? I guess all the crybabies aren’t in the White House. There is no excuse for that kind of behavior. Not even from someone who “might be useful.”

Ironic that Graysons attack on Linda Robertson would very possibly fall under ‘Prosecutable’ with the new Hates Crimes Bill. Being female puts her in a Federally protected class.

I agree that defending Robertson is right ONLY in this unprofessional and vile verbal attack. I agree with Grayson to call the Federal Reserve ‘into the light of day’, but Grayson’s two actions are not equal. One has merit the other does not.

I can pretty much assume that ‘if’ someone disagreed with his mother, wife or daughters he would not appreciate the same verbal attack.

In the time I when I was a young man, behaviour such as mr. grayson’s would have required a lesson in manners and decorum. For a performance such as his, it would have been a severe thrashing or being dragged through the manure behind a horse. I ould prefer to administer this so-called “gentlerman” a thrashing about the head and shoulders followed by a steel toe boot to the privates.
Brutal, yes. But most definitely deserved.

. “She actually questioned his understanding of the difference between fiscal and monetary policy. She had the audacity to attack a Congressman who used to be an economist.”

Maybe marty can tell us where grayson received his advanced degree in economics. As I see it, he’s nothing but a clown who used to fetch coffee for real economists.
Not to mention, of course, his little kick-back scheme in Haiti. (That rather makes him a crook, doesn’t it?)

grayson would probably benefit from confinement in an institution and heavy doses of thorazine.

Is the Congressman going to apologize for describing himself as an economist? He has no Phd in economics making his description of his first post-college job rather suspect, was he an analyst? That is akin to Joe the Plumber calling himself an electrician.

    This from Jim’s link:

Update: I hadn’t even heard of this tool Grayson until this summer, but I have to chuckle reading this.
Roll Call: Freshman Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) lost $3 million in a stock swindle between 2000 and 2005, a Florida television station reported this week.

According to Orlando’s Local 6, Grayson was an investor in a Ponzi scheme run by the company Derivium Capital. The scheme allowed Grayson and other investors to turn over stock to Derivium in exchange for cash loans and redeem the value later if the stock prices increased.

The station cited court filings indicating that Grayson transferred about $29 million in stock to the fund, taking out about $26 million in cash. A South Carolina court ruled earlier this year that Derivium shareholders were owed about $270 million in lost profits and that Grayson’s share of that would be about $34 million.
So this boob was swindled in a Ponzi scheme yet he and his people are claiming he’s some sort of sage economist.

    Hilarious!

Here is a description of the new Democratic Go-To Guy:

“Kipling stated that Grayson’s campaign had a glaring omission. During 1988, when Grayson had just turned thirty and while working for the Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson law firm, he spent four days in the Psychiatric Institute of Washington. What the cause of this stay was is yet unclear, although testimony from co-workers suggests that Grayson was extremely combative with fellow employees, including slapping a female intern in the face. Grayson was released after PIW doctors declared him ‘not to be a threat to the public.’”

Here’s some more on the Democrats Latest Dream Boy:

“Kipling’s statements were chronicled in an interview set to be released on November 5. Kipling stated that while Grayson touted that he was a respected economist he had actually failed an economics course in his sophomore year. In addition, some of Grayson’s senior papers were accused of widespread plagiarism.”

    http://righthandedpitcher.blogspot.com/2009/10/congressman-grayson-briefly-spent-time.html

The first time I noticed this clown Grayson (D-Fl) it was clear that he had little serious economic background and as I keep stating, without that dissertation Grayson was never an economist and his resume says nothing about television or stage work so he has also never played one professionally. Yet his excuse for calling a woman a “whore” was that she insulted his intellegence on economic matters because he is a former economist.

It must be tough for the Democrats when all of their Dream Boy Candidates turn out to be half or more insane.

However the claim that a person who has spent over four years as a plumber’s assistant can’t describe himself as a “plumber” is ludicous to the core, it is not indicative of a sharp mind. It is indicative of the type of loser who beats his subordinates. Peachy, you did not know about the State of Ohio’s license requirements because you are not quite bright enough to look up the regs on the State of Ohio’s website.

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fl) calling himself an economist is like Joe the Plumber calling himself an electrician.

Rep. Grayson’s (D-Fl) also lost millions in a Ponzi scheme that appears to have been at least on some level a potential tax dodge.

Kipling stated that while Grayson touted that he was a respected economist he had actually failed an economics course in his sophomore year. In addition, some of Grayson’s senior papers were accused of widespread plagiarism.”

Grayson’s wikipedia page says he graduated from Harvard in 3 years, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. There’s no source given, but if that’s true then there’s pretty much no way he failed a class or that any of his papers were accused of plagiarism. It also seems rather unlikely that he would have been accepted to Harvard Law School (which nobody seems to dispute) if he had been accused of plagiarism as an undergrad.

Something doesn’t add up here. I would wait for proof before running with these accusations.

Guess Who is correct when she/he wrote that “something doesn’t add up here” in reference to the claims made on Grayson’s Wiki page and really, addition is all you need to use to see that. Consider the following:

Rep. Grayson’s Wikipedia page states that Grayson graduated Harvard in 3 years, he was born in March of 1958, that makes him class of ‘79. It then states that he spent 2 years working as an “economist” before returning to Harvard (that would be 1981) and attending Harvard Law and the Kennedy School while graduating “within four years” (funny how those school years don’t last a calendar year), that brings us to 1985. However Wikipedia also tells us the following: “Grayson was employed as a law clerk at the Colorado Supreme Court in 1983, and at the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals from 1984 to 1985″ Grayson was so amazing that he was clerking in the Colorado Supreme Court well before graduating. What a guy.

Somebody has been padding that Wiki page like a poor resume to be given to an employer who can’t add.

Grayson’s bio at Congress.org states that he graduated Harvard in ‘78 (a March ‘58 b-day would normally put one in the HS class of ‘76 rather than ‘75), then add the 2 years as an “economist” plus the 4 years in grad school and you still get ‘84, so how was the guy clerking at the Colorado Supreme Court while he was still in school, in Boston?

According to Harvard’s online alumni directory, Grayson graduated from Harvard Law School and from the Kennedy School of Government in ‘83. So that probably means his 2 years as an economist (whatever that means) was really more like 1-1.5 years, unless he started the job while still a student or something like that. However, it means the dates for his clerkship jobs are, in fact, correct.
