It figures. The Pelosi Plan will punish states that limit trial lawyers’ winnings.
Capital Confidential reported this at Big Government:

Section 2531, entitled “Medical Liability Alternatives,” establishes an incentive program for states to adopt and implement alternatives to medical liability litigation. [But]…… a state is not eligible for the incentive payments if that state puts a law on the books that limits attorneys’ fees or imposes caps on damages.

Tort reform could save the country $54 billion.
So it only makes sense that democrats would oppose it.

More… The death panels are back in the bill, too.

Just heard @ Bloomberg that SEC is launching an investigation on “Apollo Foundation” & it’s stock plummeted.

They said that they were behind a scheme recruiting uneligible students to various Universities.

I remember this foundation closer to WH. Jim, this is for you to get to MSM.

Just like ObaMao’s bundler’s who have been partying it up at the WH, despite his promise of “hope and change”. The lawyer’s will be partying on Congree if this passes. Can you say “pay to play”?

Maybe a better slogan would have been, “no contributor left behind”…or…”bundler’s paradise”…or maybe…”got any change?… quarters.. nickels…dimes…”

Democrats will limit the pay of Corporate Executives and employees of publicly traded companies, but States are to keep their hands off of Attorneys’ pay?

Well, I guess we finally found out who is churning out all these new Bills that no one is reading, no one know what is in, or no politician wrote.

Texas already has a cap on medical liability, which is why Texas has seen a major influx of doctors over the past five years. Wonder how Democratic reps from the state in Congress are going to enjoy handling this one?

But the democratic bill was never really about that.

It always frustrates me to hear people say just wait until the next election. Even if the vote is clean, once they’re in office the lawyers and special interests own our “lawmakers”. The cost will be enormous for the gullible voter.

So, not only are they refusing to consider any with free market reforms to reduce medical costs, they’re penalizing anyone who does. Kind of makes you think they’re not really serious about it, doesn’t it?

“dems are owned by trial lawyers, so this comes as no surprise!”

Actually it is a surprise. It shows how utterly stupid the lawyers really are. Everyone knows that they are soulless and morally bankrupt but this kind of stupidity surprised even me.

The ‘plan’ would create a government-run healthcare system which would gradually drive the insurers out of business meaning everyone would be on the government system. You can’t sue the government, least of all a left wing branch of it, so all of these lawyers would be out of work. They are supporting the destruction of their own jobs (if you can call them that).

The Lawyer suicide march…it’s as if they are knowingly walking off a plank into an erupting volcano.

“That is why it does not apply to congress.”

As someone who has looked deeply into history since mid 2001, I can say that this excemption of congress reminds me of how every communist state is set up.

You have the ‘chairman’, or more accurately put, the dictator, in essence the king. You have the ‘party members’, reminiscent of the nobility of old. They live a life of luxury, unaffected by the ‘equality’ imposed on their subjects. And then you have the peasants….95% of the population, living ‘equally in misery’

It always frustrates me to hear people say just wait until the next election.

Why does it frustrate you? This is our system. The electorate put the Democrats in power in 2006 and gave them more power in 2008; the Democrats are passing unpopular legislation; the electorate will likely throw the Democrats out of power in the next election.

If the electorate is angry and energized enough, it will elect people who will undo everything the Democrats are doing now. It’s a binary system: Either you elect the right people, or you don’t.

I don’t get the need to predict doom and disaster a year before the next election. It’s a waste of time and energy. All we can do right now is make our voices heard. If the Democrats don’t listen, so be it. Make them pay in the next election. That’s how things work. Telling us that there’s no hope and we’re all doomed is neither helpful nor accurate.

The weight of a million votes is nothing compared to the influence of a George Soros or La Raza. Thats my point.

I do support the tea parties and new citizen journalist. I would encourage all to actively do the same. But the hard reality is the answer to a revolution is a counter-revolution. The left can sing about their revolution but if we say the word it’s equated with violent mobs lynching people. Show no fear (sticks and stones). Talk, organize, commit, educate and act as one giant force. I think a lot of people are emotionally getting there but we desperately need them to intellectually get there.

Just my opinion and not meant to offend anyone.

Right, how dare someone seek to limit the millions racked up by the ambulance chasing lobby. Gotta love the democrats, the party of the ultra rich and the ultra poor, making it happen by sticking it to middle class Americans across the board.
