Author, broadcaster and filmmaker (Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted) John Ziegler was kicked out of the Western Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday after his interview with American Conservative Union, David Keene.
After John Ziegler pressed Keane on his reporting on Sarah Palin and the FedEx controversy. According to HotAir the American Conservative Union attempted to get Federal Express to pay millions of dollars to engage the ACU on their behalf over a political fight with UPS on legislation under consideration on Capitol Hill. The Politico also reported on this controversy. David Keane did not want to talk about it yesterday with John Ziegler.
Keane called Ziegler an a-hole and threatened to hit him.
John Ziegler wrote all about the confrontation on his website.
In this first video John Ziegler sits down with David Keane for an interview.
This leads up to the second video where David Keane calls John Ziegler an a-hole and threatens to hit him.
Unreal.
The third video is just crazy. John Ziegler gets insulted and kicked out of the conference.
Keane, who was a big supporter of Arlen Spector, talks about supporting true conservatives and “not selling out” during his lunch speech… Then the organizers bash Ziegler from the stage and aggressively escort him out of the building even though he was one of the vendors at the event.
What an embarrassment.
John Ziegler is right. This is like something you’d expect from democrats. It’s time to weed the garden folks.

“He’s scheduleded to appear … we don’t want him to appear.”

The Rinos are trying to take complete control. Did you hear the second option that Keane purposed. This is why we need a Sarah Palin, someone that is not of the Washington elite class, who will have our interests at heart.
I’m tired, tired of being stabbed in the back by the McCains of this world. It’s time we cleaned house and clean fast with a new broom.

We need to oppose those who are not acting in our interest in the primaries. The NRP will not clean up the primaries so that only Republicans can vote, you see they need Demoncrap voters to help nominate rinos. We have to force our primaries to be closed to only party members, why should we allow the other side to pick our candidates.

This is just stupid. We can’t get distracted by this kind of infighting. We have to work toward getting control of DC. We have to control B.O. before he destroys this country. We have to get the GOP back in control of Congress so we can get rid of the likes of Pelosi and Reid. This RINO vs. the rest of the GOPs has got to quit. We have to stop our slide to Socialism. The rest we can take care of later.

Here’s what I am going to do – QUIT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AND BECOME A DEMOCRAT.
If the commies can turn the Dems into leftist pantywaists, then this conservative can do his part to turn the Dems into social conservatives.
Coz if what I saw on these videos is the cross-section of the Republican movement I DON’T WANT ANY OF IT.
Thank you John Zeigler for the expose. And thanks Jim for posting this pathetic spectacle.

This just confirms Republicans are the party of stupid. John could have had a great winning interview, he was so close till he steeped over the line. Keene confirmed he is a RINO at CPAC. Great, this next year sure will be interesting. Only Republicans could screw this chance to take back the House and get the balance of power back in this country.
October 18th, 2009 | 11:04 pm | #29
It seems to me, only from watching the video, that Keene isn’t exactly a stellar Conservative, obviously. However, as a FORMER supporter of John Z., I think his tactics were deplorable. He’s entitled to ask a question, but not to badger anyone like that. He should have been asked to leave, Jim Lacy did the difficult and right thing. That sort of behavior is not cool and should not be allowed. There’s a time and place and technique for confronting someone, but it isn’t that way. That’s what I think, anyhow. SB Lady

I say 3 cheers for Ziegler. I wish he could do this with Snowe, Collins, Nelson, and, all the other RINO’s. Just because Keane is with the Conservative Union, does not preclude him from being a RINO, pay-for-play, or anything else.
If you aren’t a true Conservative, you, my former friend, are now expendable, and replacable. Mark.It.Done.

I pray that Rush or Glen Beck brings this crap up in their broadcast tomorrow.
RINO’s are the reason we are in the boat we are today. The Bush’s, Spectors, Snowe, Collins, McCain, Graham and others are nothing but whores. Their ‘values’ are on the auction block to the highest bidder.
Thanks Jim for posting this, although dis- heartening this crap needs to be exposed and eliminated. Hyprocracy of the right is just as wrong and even worse than that of the libtards.
It makes you question the leadership and it’s real purpose. No matter who is in charge we still seem to be heading the ship down the path to communism. What will it take to stop and turn this ship around? ‘Leaders’ like David Keene and the others kicking Ziegler out certainly don’t deserve any support from those who are just working schmucks hoping for some honesty in a world gone corrupt.
October 19th, 2009 | 1:18 am | #33
These videos were clipped. Why? I’m very suspicious of Ziegler on this.
October 19th, 2009 | 1:24 am | #34
One more thing:
It is now apparent why Sarah Palin is not popular with RINO’s, she refuses to pay-to-play.
Unfortunately I now agree with Ziegler prediction that Obama will win re-election, RINO’s will not vote for her because she will not agree to the course the ‘leadership’ is charting and this conservative will not vote for another McCain. I am only one vote, but I am sure there are many like me.
Our freedoms are slowly being eroded by the RINO’s and Progressives. I used to think Alex Jones was a nut case, but no more.
October 19th, 2009 | 1:43 am | #35
I saw the video and David Keene is like every other politician I’m aware of.
They all remind me of a TV evangilist you can see any hour of the day – send your money (or vote) in and ALL your prayers will be answered! Imitators and posers, liars and crooks – they’re all alike, pretending and stealing the trust of people.
Are people like this what our founding fathers had in mind for leadership? The same type of people are leading the DNC as well, it’s not just the ‘Conservatives’ or the ‘Republicans Party’.
Our house needs a new broom to sweep out the trash!

So when are American’s going to wake up and say ‘I am an American first, you can take your political party and idiology and shove it if you are not going to work for We the People and our country’!!!

Longtime conservative here. The good news is that Barack Obama will be defeated not by one conservative candidate, but by the combination of the frontrunner, and the vice Presidential pick. So in other words, we will end up with something like Romney/Huckabee, Pawlenty/Romney, or Huckabee/Romney, etc. Sarah Palin could be promised as a top cabinet position to add to the conservative appeal. One candidate will not beat Obama in 2012, and the establishment needs to understand the new demographics have changed forever, and that the rules like announcing a vp late in the game, are going to need to change, in order to take the country back to the Reagan days in 2012.
There is no doubt that the old Republican establishment is over. done. The summer tea parties showed the GOP that the party can no longer gain momentum to win big elections with RINOs in the mix.
Ron Paul supporters need to understand that their passion for individual liberties and small government add a strong leg to the conservative platform, however, Ron Paul is a great guy, but is not electable with his soft stance on fighting the war on radical Islamic fundamentalism. Ron has great ideas, but misses an important mark when it comes to understanding the growing danger of creeping sharia law around the world. In the end, it will take the Christian conservatives, the Ron Paul supporters, Tea Party Patriots, and the conservative Independents to get behind a “team” of conservative candidates to defeat Barack Obama in 2012. And don’t forget it.
Let the campaigns play out, but let us clean the RINO’s out, and unite in 2010 and 2012.

How do we get the RINO “Keenes” out of the ACU and the Republican party? I can’t believe he would be a supporter of Specter, and a basher of Sarah, and still head the Conservative Union? Plus trying to shake down FedEx? Come On! He has got to Go!

Today is my oldest son’s 18th birthday…18 years ago today he was a 10 pound baby boy taking his first breath :) My sweet, yet strong angel, Michael :)
I hope I have prepared him for the decisions he will have to make in the voting booth. I plan to ensure he is a registered voter ASAP.
Good grief…we had a steak and shrimp BBQ for him yesterday with homemade ice cream and cake…it was fun and tasty, but what a mess I have to clean up today, bleah…
But well worth it…:)

Mr. Keane is not conservative. He is a huge Mitt Romney supporter. Look what happened last year when Romney lost the primary. Mr. Keane endorsed Romney and it didn’t work. Wow, Sarah Palin has her own version of Michael Moore.
My problem with John Zigler is he has no finesse. He’s got a “gotcha” question, but doesn’t ease into it. It’s obvious he’s got an axe to grind with David Keene and plays it out on video. I think if Zigler had gone in there to give Mr. Keene a way to clear the air, or “set the record straight,” Keene may or may not have given Zigler the rope he needed.
Personally, I would’ve ended the interview much sooner, kudos to Keene for sticking it out.
The rest is just John Zigler being a self righteous boob. Just like Michael Moore. He deserved to be thrown out. It’s not a first amendment issue, the Constitution doesn’t give you the right to be an ass (sometimes.)
So yeah, John, we expect this from leftist filmmakers with an axe to grind, not one that champion conservative causes.
P.S. I need to research this whole David Keene thing with FedEx, but from what I saw in the first interview – and only that interview – Keene seemed to explain it pretty well. If he was guilty, a better interview would have left that hanging doubt and show the man for what he was.

Just because Ziegler smiles all the time, doesn’t mean his behavior is acceptable.
I appreciate his work to expose and cover these RINO’s, but to continue to press, badger & harass–asking the same question over and over when the guy has already indicated his refusal to answer the question–makes Ziegler look childish and pushy.
It seems there could be more finesse, as a previous commenter pointed out. Ziegler pushes the envelope, then puts on that “What’d I do?” look as if he is completely innocent of any provocation.
Conservative reporters should show more class, IMO.
October 19th, 2009 | 10:12 am | #52
That being said, Ziegler is right — Keene IS a smarmy, two-faced RINO.
Time to clean house.
October 19th, 2009 | 10:57 am | #53
Just a thought, but it might be wise to remember that all these RINOs *consider themselves* to be Republicans.
Perhaps the position to take would be to EDUCATE the RINOs in proper Conservative knowledge, rather than try to toss them out of the party completely.
Their attitudes can be changed – with patience; and we are going to need all of the friends and votes that we can muster.
So, try to get the RINOs to see the error of their ways. If they won’t support proper Conservatives, THEN get rid of them. But try the education route first.

Just checked the Western CPAC web site (http://www.westerncpac.org/) and they have a poll on who you would support. I voted and here is the current results.
Which Potential 2012 Presidential Candidate Would You Most Likely Vote For?
Mitt Romney 9%
John McCain 1%
Sarah Palin 79%
Bobby Jindal 3%
Tim Pawlenty 3%
Mark Sanford 1%
Mike Huckabee 4%
Total votes: 2828
Hmmm… Fortunately, because of our great founding fathers, “We the People” have a very big voice in this process. Once again in my life time, the Silent Majority has awaken! Seek out your local Tea Party. All parties are welcome. It is about ideals and not affiliation.

I like Zeigler but the first interview that started all this was over the line. His gleeful giggle when he felt incredulous was very unprofessional. I like the fact that he was exposing the guy as a RINO. That’s all good. But, he could use some work on looking a bit more impartial.

I think the Republicans need a document stating what they believe in as conservatives, and candidates who want to run for the Republican party must meet the minimum requirement, so at least, when these candidates vote in Congress or the Senate, you can be rest assured that they won’t cross over and vote with the democrats. You’ve got to wonder about some of the people who run as Republicans when there is no difference in their platform and the Democrat candidate’s platform.
