Hugo Chavez would be proud
The White House banned FOX News today from interviewing the Pay Czar along with the other four major state-run media outlets. FOX News has been a member of the five network rotation since 1997. Surprisingly, the Washington bureau chiefs of the five TV news networks stepped in an agreed to skip the interview if FOX was not included.
The administration relented… this time and allowed FOX to attend.

FOX News reported:

Unreal.
But remember… Barack Obama is a moderate.

HotAir added this on the disgraceful move by the White House:

Decide for yourself what the most disgraceful aspect of this is. Was it the fact that Gibbs told Jake Tapper explicitly on Monday that the White House wouldn’t try to dictate to the press pool who should and shouldn’t be included — before doing precisely that? Was it Anita Dunn going out of her way to say she respects Major Garrett as a fair reporter — before the administration decided he didn’t deserve a crack here at Feinberg? Or was it the repeated insistence by Dunn and Axelrod that of course the administration will make its officials available to Fox — before pulling the plug today?

That is a ruse. Obama’s administration wants you to believe that Fox News is their enemy. They want you to stay with them because they are safe with them, they said the eligibility issue is bogus.

So now they can say all they want as long as they shut up on this issue. The other things don’t harm your Teflon Usurper.

BTW, did Fox News covered the 9/12 marche on D.C.? Not really. All they said was that there was about 70, 000 people there… lol. What a bunch of liars.

Was Glenn Beck at that Tea Party? Hannity? O’Reilly? Nope. They are all sellouts.

I applaud the five Washington bureau chiefs (NBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, and FOX) for decided that none of them would do the interview if Fox weren’t allowed.

Sure, they may have decided so because of political reasons (maybe they feared backlash?), but at least they stood up and made the White House back away from their decision.

[By the way, they all did interviews with Feinberg.]

Simple. Obama thinks he was elected “Emperor” of the USA. He thought he wouldn’t be questioned about his policies, just like during the campaign. Seems like there are a few people who are interested in what his answer in Afghanistan will be. Some that would dare question the Constitutionality of an unelected, un-confirmed Czar setting pay rates for private corporations. Some that might even want to know just exactly HOW he is going to protect the world from a nuclear Iran.

It isn’t enough to shout “Keep Hope Alive!” anymore. Well, that may be the other guy. Lofty, vagueries are not going to create any jobs, or help our boys win in Af-ghan-eee-stahn. I guess it’s hard to take the tough questions when vague rhetoric is all you got.

Apparently Obama knows that absolute control of the media is a requirement for the installation of a tyranny. He overreached this time because he wrongly estimated that most of the major media was already in his pocket based on the support they gave him in his campaign and continue to give him during his presidency. This setback will not deter him from trying again in the future.

    ‘Interest of Tyrants’

“Is it not high time for people of this country to explicitly declare, whether they will be freemen or slaves? It is an important question which ought to be decided. It concerns us more than anything in this life. The salvation of our souls is interested in the event. For wherever tyranny is establish’d, immorality of every kind comes in like a torrent. It is in the interest of tyrants to reduce the people to ignorance and vice. For they cannot live in any country where virtue and knowledge prevail. The religion and public liberty of a people are intimately connected; their interest are interwoven, they subsist separately; and therefore they rise and fall together. For this reason it is always observable, that those who are combined to destroy the people’s liberties, practice every art to poison their morals. How greatly then does it concern us at all events, to put a stop to the progress of tyranny.” ~ Samuel Adams

Good lord. I know you are/were a fan of Pastor Manning, Crystal, but this is pathetic. I agree with you about the jealousy. Strange how that works. When I heard that Sarah Palin got paid seven figures for her book, I was happy for her. My reaction was to laugh out loud and say, “Good for you, Sarah!”

I’ll never get paid seven figures for anything I write, but it tickles me pink that Palin got paid as much as she did. I hope she enjoys every penny, and I hope she writes more books and gets paid eight figures. Or nine.

    October 22nd, 2009 | 10:40 pm | #51

I think it was smart for neither Glenn Beck nor Sarah Palin to be physically present at the 9/12 March. What is freaking out the leftists is that the Tea Party movement truly is a GRASSROOTS movement. The left could not point to any particular figurehead at the rally to try to paint us all as a bunch of mindless hero-worshippers.

Nope, the march represented the tip of an independent, spontaneous, one-person-at-a-time, massive citizens’ rebellion that is sweeping this country. And 1.2 to 1.5 million people showed up NOT to bask in the glory of some celebrity or another–no, they showed up because they genuinely CARE! That scares the Left far more than Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin as individuals do!

Much as I love both of them, I’m glad the march was all about US. We the people!

Manning says that a true patriot would sacrfice his family if need be, to bring the birth certificate issue to light.

We don’t even ask our troops to sacrifice their families. What a bozo. How come the birth-certificate issue attracts only mental patients?

He recently said that his family must have round-the-clock police protection because of endless death threats.” (Tom W.)

You gotta be kidding right! Dr Manning recieves death threats every day and he went to the marche. And without protection… how do you fell now? Think Glenn is a real man? I don’t.

BTW, I did not look at your link. And I don’t watch Beck since he said the eligibility was bogus. What a sellout! It is far from been bogus. But I watched Fox on 9/12 and they did a lousy covering saying only 70,000 people.

Shariah-compliant stock index comes to TSX

[TORONTO – Shariah law has hit the local economic community with the launch of a new Canadian stock index: the S&P/TSX Shariah 60.
This Standard & Poor’s index is a variant of the TSX 60, representing the large-cap segment of the Canadian equities market. The crucial difference is the rules and strictures applicable to Muslims regarding financial and commercial activities, which therefore excludes many sectors.

A supervisory board consisting of Muslim scholars was appointed to ensure that the companies in the index abide by Shariah law. One of the four, Abdul Sattar Abu Guddah, who holds a Ph.D. in Islamic law from Al Azhar University in Cairo, was accused of being closely affiliated with Sheikh Muhammad Taqi Usmani, who has been removed from numerous boards of Western banks. Abu Guddah was on the board of the al-Baraka Bank, which was implicated in the financing of 9/11 terrorism in the US. The allegations against the bank were later dismissed.

Four years ago, Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, director of the American Center for Democracy and author of Funding Evil: How Terrorism is Financed and How to Stop It, warned of an international “Islamic impetus…to impose Sharia-governed banking on the West” in an article on Human Events.com. She quoted former Malaysian Prime Minister Mohamed Mahathir telling a banking conference in 2002 of the need “to absorb the 11 September shock and reinforce the stability of Islamic finance.”]

And now, you’ve even started advocating for violent insurrection by Americans (while you, btw, sit safely in Canada). Why would that be, craig?

Both hate Fox News; both lie about Glenn Beck; and both are becoming increasingly inept over time.

Craig’s pathetic attempt to smear Beck on this thread is very similar to Obama’s various childish lies that are disproved with about four seconds of research. Now Craig is reduced to covering his eyes and shouting “No! I won’t look! I won’t look!” when someone shows him proof that Glenn Beck covered the 9/12 March extensively.

I guess he figures that, if he doesn’t look at the videos, he can always claim that it was a plot to infect his computer. And that the videos don’t really exist.

    That’s only slightly paranoid.

It is interesting, though, how he rants and rails about the attempts to unseat obama through the courts. And then, of course, calls the courts corrupt — all the way from municipal courts up to the SCOTUS. But we need to put our faith in that plan.

And then, in the next breath, he calls for a revolution to toss out the “Evil Usurper Dictator” by force of arms — as though obama wouldn’t be defended. (I guess all of the right-thinking, “true” conservatives would just naturally go along with that.)

I still believe – as I’ve said before – that craig’s little plan is to get people to agree with his “revolutionary” call to arms, and bring untoward attention to GP. And to have it eventually shut down.

State controlled media, what could possibly go wrong, eh?

And honestly, I start wishing people would simply STOP with the whole birth certificate issue. It’s not leading anywhere, is it? I mean, it’s been almost a year since the elections and Obama is still there. Where’s the result of the campaign? Where is the actual birth certificate. Innocent until proven guilty. That’s how it works.

I’d rather see people using their energies and time on actual issues when it comes to Obama. Nail him over his policies towards fascists and terrorists, his crazy spending. He’s doing all that now. If someone manages to prove that Obama wasn’t born in the US next year, what good will it do?

More to the point, now that he’s been caught lying, Craig’s using the typical leftist tactic of moving the goal posts. So he’s gone from “not covered the march” to “didn’t cover it ENOUGH” in his claims. Though I’m sure that if someone finds a ton of coverage by Fox et al he’ll twist even further.

I do find it amusing that Craig is projecting his own tactics upon Beck: claiming that Beck is some awful person trying to fool people into taking the wrong approach in dealing with Obama’s actions. More of a “what a sick joke” kind of amusement, but then my sense of humor is a bit twisted…

For the record, Rush has made many comments about the birth certificate isssue. Whenever he mentions Barry being born in Hawaii he does it in a mocking tone. As for Beck and Fox, my impression is that since the “Birthers” have been turned into jokes, rather than subject themselves to ridicule, they are no doubt doing due dilligence quietly. What better way to establish yourselves as “news” than to come out with “news”? Similar to the ACORN story, it makes more sense that they would be mum about the story until they have irrefutable proof. At least it makes sense to me.

“thers” are people who passionately believe in things which are demonstrably untrue or not proven. Truthers believe Bush was behind 9/11 even though every sane person knows it was al Qaeda that attacked America.

Birthers believe Obama was born in Hawaii even though he has refused to produce his hospital records and birth certificate. Birthers are afraid to demand these documents. They call people this derogatory name to foreclose examination of the question because they are afraid of the answer.

It’s not clear where Obama was born. What is clear is that people who use the term birthers are themselves birthers. The word more appropriately describes themselves than those who believe in due diligence. People who use the term birthers are either intellectually dishonest or not smart enough to approach the question of Obama’s birth in a logical manner: stop the name calling and demand what you would demand if he were a Republican.

It’s no wonder Obama thinks he can do whatever he wants.

Fox news is a very good network and they are telling the truth.

33% of Fox viewers think we found WMDs in Iraq. 67% think we had clear evidence Saddam was working with Al Queda. 80% thought

I enjoy your posts on other blogs:-).

What is this strange little man doing now?
Perhaps he should get his crayons out and copy this down … “I am not a king” … and then repeat it over and over again until it’s his time to go back to Chicago.

Craig, it very well may have been a show, I wouldn’t doubt that. The other media organizations know that Fox has excellent ratings and they will continue to lose viewers if they don’t tone down their beliefs. I will note that several individual reporters have come out showing support for Fox.
I just wanted to point out in my comment that the White House indeed relented since that wasn’t stated in the post at first.

I’m deeply concerned about Obama going “half-Chavez” on Fox News. I would be greatly disturbed if he goes “full Chavez” with it.

We did find WMDs in Iraq, and we did find evidence that Al Qaeda had links with the Baathist regime as well.
