The War on Terror comes to an end.
This must be more of that smart power diplomacy we heard so much about.

The Obama Administration will send 9-11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammad and four other Gitmo detainees to New York to face trial in a civilian court.
MSNBC reported, via Free Republic:
Self-proclaimed Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other Guantanamo Bay detainees will be sent to New York to face trial in a civilian federal court, an Obama administration official said Friday.
The official said Attorney General Eric Holder plans to announce the decision later in the morning.
The official is not authorized to discuss the decision before the announcement, so spoke on condition of anonymity.
Bringing such notorious suspects to U.S. soil to face trial is a key step in President Barack Obama’s plan to close the terror suspect detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Obama initially planned to close the detention center by Jan. 22, but the administration is no longer expected to meet that deadline.
Waterboarding
The New York case may also force the court system to confront a host of difficult legal issues surrounding counter-terrorism programs begun after the 2001 attacks, including the harsh interrogation techniques once used on some of the suspects while in CIA custody. The most severe method — waterboarding, or simulated drowning — was used on Mohammed 183 times in 2003, before the practice was banned.
This is guaranteed to be a circus.
Team Obama has officially given all terrorist killers US citizenship rights regardless of where they were captured.
Nice work, Barack.
More… Sen. Joe Lieberman said it was “inconceivable” that the administration would bring these killers to the US for trial.
It’s the Age of Obama, Joe… That’s how things are done now.
Related… Attorney General Holder will speak next week to a CAIR-group in Michigan.

New York does not have the death penalty while Virginia does.
Forum-shopping spineless administration seeking to appease the Islamic world at the expense of justice. Change you can believe in.
Although, it would be awesome if outraged New Yorkers brought back the dp in response to this BS.

I really think this is a dangerous move for America’s court systems. These terrorists are hero to Muslims in America. We seen that in their support for the murderer Hasan and 1993 WTC Ramzi Yousef.
What about the prosecuters, jurors and threats on their lives and families.
This admin..invites our own homegrown terrorist to the Whitehouse, still walking the streets of our cities.
We can’t have 24/7 body guards protecting us when we take a stand. This is frightening.

Yes, sure would make a soldier want to implement the “take no prisoners”. But of course now they have have the “habeas corpus” and our military fighting men have to be the CIS; while they are getting shot at by sniper fire.
Revolting; but it’s only the brave soldiers; just fighting to keep their ugly a**** safe.
Let’s face it, they want us dead or/dhemmis and an Islamic flag over America. To create a chaos for Martial Law. I really do believe that.

:… waterboarding, or simulated drowning — was used on Mohammed 183 times…”
Something that requires 183 applications either isn’t terrifying or isn’t effective. As he did reveal information after waterboarding we can say it is eventually effective.
The eventually effective makes it appear more a nuisance than torture and should bear no weight in motions to dismiss.

If you all have time, search on the Manchester Document found in an Al Qeada cave. It’s a pdf file. It will really shed some light on what they (terrorists) are required to when they are taken prisoner.

“Case dismissed.”
When was he read his Miranda warning? When was waterboarding allowed in civilian courts? Who are his accusers? Is he a criminal or an enemy combatant? Enemy combatants/POWs are not to be tried in criminal courts as per Geneva Convention. If he his a criminal, has his embassy been properly notified? If a criminal, weren’t his “accommodations” failing to live up to penal code?
This is just stupid and all for political grandstanding.

Like Ann Coulter’s remark once about our interrigation methods. it’s not much worse that goes on a woman’s first date. Or a fraternity hazing.
I worked with reserve requirements for the AF Reserve, Med Evac. The training required i.e. The Chamber, Physiological Training are basically the same techniques. (endurance training or the Navy Seals are worse). No body died, suffered emotional, starved or mental damage. It was all in a carefully controlled evironment.
But we know that the obama Inc knows this too. Does even the terrorists know they don’t give a rat about their rights being violated? It just another way of holding American citizens and our soldiers hostage and at a disadvantage in their unsatiable thirst for power, control and blood.

This is about the dumbest thing that Obama has done that I’ve heard so far today – but it’s still early.
The trial will be a security nightmare, a circus for CAIR and all the other islamassholes in NYC. Not to mention the legal mess of trying to fit the facts of this killer’s capture into a criminal law model after the fact. As a prosecutor, I can say without much reservation that it’s not going to work well for the government. You can, and should, waterboard captured terrorists to learn of their pending operations – to save innocent lives. But, you can’t do that to a criminal suspect you have in custody because of their constitutional protections. Protections that, by law, are there for the citizens of this country. When did this terrorist prick gain citizenship status? Apparently, when the party of tools elected the biggest tool ever as president.
I swear, this is setting us up for a major attack. Obama’s a dangerous idiot of mega proportions. It’s going to come back and bite him. The small political points he made with his out-of-touch lefty base will pale in comparison to the sh^^-storm this will generate.

I do like the Israeli’s style:
Shalom Nagar sprung the gallows under Adolf Eichmann over 40 years ago.
“For years, the details of arch-Nazi Eichmann’s hanging by the State of Israel was shrouded in secrecy — from his being given his last glass of wine, to the noose being placed around his neck, to his lifeless body being incinerated in a specially-designed oven and his ashes spread over the sea outside Israel’s territorial waters.”
But maybe a little too dignified:

It doesn’t matter. The trial will be in Federal Court – and the federal law does provide a death penalty.
Not that these clowns will get it. Or, if they do, they’ll die of old age before their appeals run out.
Not to mention, of course, the increased likelihood of a terrorist raid on the jail where they’ll be held.
This is such an asinine farce on so many levels.

Read the article at CNS; Me thinks this oboma Inc makes things up as they go along.
Despite any legalities (gag) they spout their first duty is to protect us from all enemies foreign and domestic.
How many 12 jurors can they select that would probably have to be in protective custody with their families for the rest of their lives. The prosecuters etc…. It’s bad enough that our guards at Gitmo and military may experience the same. I have a loved one who is a guard there and I worry about someone obtaining private info about him. He is always warning us about telling anyone where he is because of some retaliation to his family members.

You might note that – ever since the obama doj said that captured terrs had to be mirandized and had all the rights of an American criminal – that the number of dead terrs (compared to captured) has risen.
I don’t think that the leftists in the doj took into account “The Law of Unintended Consequences”.

h/t CNS blogger:
The Hague Convention is quite specific on the rights of armed combatants in a war zone. It states that they must, within 72 hours of the start of hostilities, either put on a “uniform or other recognizable symbol showing their national allegiance” (i.e., which country’s army they are part of), or lay down their weapons and cease fighting. Continuing to do battle without doing anything to openly show their allegiance is grounds for summary execution if they are captured on the battlefield. And the opposing army is not required to accept surrenders, either, as since they are not properly uniformed or openly declaring allegiance, they are not lawful combatants. Traditionally, spies and saboteurs who were caught in your own country were not extended the same protection as uniformed soldiers on a battlefield, either. Their rights, if any, were solely at the discretion of their captors. Terrorists fall into the same two categories. clear ..”

Here’s a good litmus test for any proposed action relating to national security or terrorists:
Will it increase or decrease the chances of THIS happening in America:
http://sixmeatbuffet.com/archives/2005/09/01/beslan-religion-of-peace-memories/
And you can bloody well COUNT ON it happening in America if we continue coddling these “Servants of Allah.” We already have plentiful evidence of their plans along these lines:
http://www.jihadwatch.org/2004/09/was-the-beslan-massacre-to-have-taken-place-in-maryland.html
Considering the plain fact that coddling bullies only emboldens them, ask yourself: Will bringing these monsters onto U.S. soil increase or decrease the chances of American schoolchildren getting slaughtered?
I think it is very symbolic that Hasan’s murderous rampage at Ft. Hood was finally stopped by a petite civilian woman who is a mother. MOTHERS OF AMERICA, UNITE! FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT TO PROTECT YOUR OWN CHILDREN. The wussified, “politically correct” men who are running things–even in our own military! (witness Gen. Casey)–can no longer be counted on to do it.

How come Obama is against waterboarding terrorists who behead, dismember, torture – real torture, burn, shred, blow up, etc. women, children, and men, but he has no problem whatsoever with women having abortions where the unborn is dismembered, tortured basically, and burned with acid alive in the womb. WTH is wrong with this picture.
Obama sees the right-wing and military as the terrorists, but the Muslims within and out of America plotting to take it down via the slaughter of school children, military, and civilians should have rights within the American judicial system. I’m sorry, but if the American people haven’t woken up yet, they may never and you might just have to come to the realization that they are the enemies of America within.

Well, if obama gets what his real intentions are, I do have one consolation. That he and his supporters will also have to live in the banana republic results.
A reminder brings me back to God’s word in the names of The AntiChrist/Satan; he is a law breaker, the author of lies, deceiver, Apollyon (destroyer), there’s more.
In the Book of Daniel, the great King Nebuchadneezer, of the ancient wonder of the world of Babylon, was warned again and again and didn’t listen. He was dumped in the desert crawling around on all fours like an animal. Saddum Hussein thought he was King Nebuchadneezer incarnate (well, we all know where they caught him). Pharaoh was warned time after time to “let my people go” and didn’t listen. He got a lot of people killed in that, with 7 deadly plagues upon the Kingdom of Egypt; and all his military at the bottom of the Red Sea.
We must all keep doing all we can do and standing in the gap for God, for freedom, and our Constitution. Then stand firm.
In His Name, Jesus, the Messiah.

Kathy, we discussed that on GP, pretty much at length on the anniverrsary of Beslan this year. We are not far from it here and we know it. The other thing that scares me is reading how many people report on blogs seeing Muslims who appear to be engaged in surveilance type activities around the country.
Like Hasan, I believe these events are under reported or if reported, ignored.
We all suspect that the NYC trials will not result in justice. I hope Hasan’s does, but any acts currently in the works are likely to be sped up due to our metrosexual (or worse) CinC.

Clearly he cares nothing about us, our constitution and laws and our rights. I am very frightened, but my anger is overcoming it. eKHM is not, by Geneva Conventions standards, considered a POW. He is an unauthorized military combatant and is NOT covered under Geneva Conventions rules of war.
But also what this is NOT, is Obama’s attempt to bring terrorists (a word that Obama seems to have as much difficulty with as he does with the word “victory”) to justice. This is an attempt to indict the Bush administration.
National intelligence secrets will now be available to KSM’s defense. Things like redition, inhansed interrogations, secret prisons, undercover investigations on Muslims and mosques, et al, will all be available to KSM’s defense under discovery rules.
This is the Obama opportunity to dismantle all the safeguards that were put into place by the Bush administration after 9-11 and then, hold his hands up and claim it is not his faulty as the release of these national security secrets are under the purview of the judge in New York.
Just as Obama has tried to keep his hands clean in the health care debaucle, he will now try to keep his hands clean in this trial.
I have already called my Congressman and Senator and demanded that they put a stop to bringing KSM and his fellow radical Muslims to American soil for trial. WE MUST SPEAK OUT.

[As made abundantly clear here at the outset, Mr. Abdul Malik and his colleagues at the Coordinating Council of Muslim Organizations (CCMO) of D.C and the CMSA have a long history of supporting Islamism and the advocacy of shar'ia law in society. Their statements are all part of the public record and easily discoverable. Forwarding a group of resumes under the heading of "Muslim" to House offices or the White House, I actually find rather offensive as a Muslim. Those who actually seek the integration and success of Muslims in the United States should do so not as a result of filling slots simply filled into quotas saved for "Muslims" but rather because they have achieved their success because of the merits of their work. I would hope that my children achieve their successes because of merit not because of their chosen faith and their minority identity.
At AIFD we have a mantra, which is that "we are Americans who happen
to be Muslim rather than Muslims who demand to be American".]

The Muslim Brotherhood Project
The Muslim Brotherhood Project (Continued)
The Project
“The ARAB Muslim Brotherhood, regarded as the oldest and one of the most important Islamist movements in the world, was founded by Hasan al-Banna in 1928 and dedicated to the credo, “Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope. Included in the documents seized during the raid of Nada’s Swiss villa was a 14-page plan written in Arabic dated December 1, 1982, which outlines a 12-point strategy to “establish an Islamic government on earth” — identified as the ARAB-Muslim Brotherhood Project – The Project.
What makes The Project so different from the standard “Death of America! Death to Israel!” and “Establish the global caliphate!” Islamist rhetoric is that it represents a flexible, multi phased, long-term approach to the “cultural invasion” of the West. Calling for the utilization of various tactics, ranging from immigration, infiltration, surveillance, propaganda, protest, deception, political legitimacy and terrorism, The Project has served for more than two decades as the ARAB Muslim Brotherhood’s “Master Plan”. THE ARAB MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD [M.B.](officially known as Jamiat al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun, ARAB Society of Muslim Brothers) is a religious and political terrorist organization founded in 1928 in Egypt by Hasan al-Banna. The M.B. remains strong in Egypt, Syria, Sudan, and other Arab countries and has resorted to acts of political violence. It was permitted to operate openly in Egypt in the late 80’s and early 90’s, but he government again moved against the group in the mid-late 90’s. Members of the M.B. have been elected to Egypt’s parliament as independents. The M.B. has influenced and supported a number of militant and violent organizations, such as “Hamas,” Gama’a al-Islamiya, and Islamic Jihad. *The M.B. assassinated the Prime Minister of Egypt, Mahmud Fahmi Nokrashi, on December 28, 1948. The ARAB Muslim Brotherhood assassinated Anwar Sadat in September 1981. Today, a very complex financial network connects the operations of over seventy branches of the ARAB Muslim Brothers…worldwide.

re: bg @ 4:59 pm #57
just a sample of the info out there:
The Muslim Brotherhood, Nazis and Al-Qaeda
[What I'm doing today is doing what I'm doing now: I'm educating a new generation in the CIA that the Muslim Brotherhood was a fascist organization that was hired by Western intelligence that evolved over time into what we today know as al-Qaeda.
Here's how the story began. In the 1920's there was a young Egyptian named al Bana. And al Bana formed this nationalist group called the Muslim Brotherhood. Al Bana was a devout admirer of Adolph Hitler and wrote to him frequently. So persistent was he in his admiration of the new Nazi Party that in the 1930's, al-Bana and the Muslim Brotherhood became a secret arm of Nazi intelligence.
The Arab Nazis had much in common with the new Nazi doctrines. They hated Jews; they hated democracy; and they hated the Western culture. It became the official policy of the Third Reich to secretly develop the Muslim Brotherhood as the fifth Parliament, an army inside Egypt.
When war broke out, the Muslim Brotherhood promised in writing that they would rise up and help General Rommell and make sure that no English or American soldier was left alive in Cairo or Alexandria.
The Muslim Brotherhood began to expand in scope and influence during World War II. They even had a Palestinian section headed by the grand Mufti of Jerusalem, one of the great bigots of all time. Here, too, was a man -- The grand Mufti of Jerusalem was the Muslim Brotherhood representative for Palestine. These were undoubtedly Arab Nazis. The Grand Mufti, for example, went to Germany during the war and helped recruit an international SS division of Arab Nazis. They based it in Croatia and called it the “Handjar” Muslim Division, but it was to become the core of Hitler's new army of Arab fascists that would conquer the Arab peninsula from then on to Africa -- grand dreams.
At the end of World War II, the Muslim Brotherhood was wanted for war crimes. Their German intelligence handlers were captured in Cairo. The whole net was rolled up by the British Secret Service. Then a horrible thing happened.
Instead of prosecuting the Nazis -- the Mus]
Hasan al-Banna: Brotherhood, Jihad and Nazism
[His MB movement is today the largest Islamist party in the world and its offshoots, from Hamas to the Muslim Association of Britain, are active around the globe. Hamas also distribute literature such as ‘The Protocols of the Elders of Zion’ and also encourage the killing of all Jews. The founding charter of Hamas not only makes reference to ‘The Protocols of the Elders of Zion’ but it calls for the destruction of the State of Israel with which Hamas states that it can never have permanent peace. However just as the Nazis did, Hamas is prepared to use democracy as a tactic to get to power.
Hasan al-Banna was an anti-Semitic bigot who supported Nazism. His Muslim Brotherhood movement remains true to those ideas today.]
Hitler & The Grand Musfti of Jerusalem

retire 05 brought up a good point:
Some more insight info:
“When the terrorists who attempted to bring down the WTC in 1993 with a
truck bomb were tried in civilian court in New York, testimony was
elicited in open court to the fact that (paraphrasing) , “It would take a
plane the size of a 727 fully fueled to bring down the WTC.” Having
learned that tid bit of information in a civilian court of law, a mere 8
years later, that’s exactly what they did!
Now, we’re going to try terrorists again in a civilian court where the
testimony, presumably including the intelligence that led to their
capture, will be presented in open court. In addition, they will be
afforded every defense pursuant to “due process” that we guarantee to
U.S. citizens under the Constitution, etc. Once, again, we run the risk
of “schooling” our enemies in the intracacies of our national security
safeguards!
Some fools never learn……. …..”

Great info bg: I knew about the Mufti pact with the Nazis but this is really the smoking guns they (Islam) doesn’t want us to know.
During the Gaza demonstrations in America (Muslims) were carrying signs like “God Bless Hitler, Bring Back the Ovens…. ” Now we know why they call US Nazi for an argument. Typical

BG,
Reading the article on Frontpage Mag but a little confused because the CIA wasn’t founded until 1947 it was OSS before that.
But will keep reading, I may be missing something.

I’m sure I saw these five dudes walking around on my way downtown today.
Ann, apparently some evidence will not be presented in court, because it would mean divulging the informants, etc. It will be a circus, and they could all actually walk on a technicality.

What if Muslim groups march in NYC — New Yorker’s will go ballistic? To try these terrorists in NY is a reckless act on Obama’s part.

Sounds a little better, I was going by the article on the trial of the 1993.
And if my memory serves me right there was a couple of CIA? agents gunned down in retaliation.
I think too this is another attempt at indicting Bush/Cheney for their so called torture chambers.
This obama man is the most revolting person on the face of the earth; he despises Bush so much and at attempts to destroy him, he is willing to get Americans killed and let terrorists go walking around on the streets of our nation. God; this beast of a man has a serious mental defect. I think it’s called evil incarnate.

If these libs were smart they would have made these terrorists disappear. I favor open trials for all terrorists just to keep the left’s insanity in the public eye.
