Another photo op for President Dither.
After dithering and waffling on Afghanistan for months to the point that even our American allies are lashing out at his inaction, President Obama will deliver his address on Afghanistan at West Point.
FOX News reported:
Fox White House Correspondent Mike Emanuel reports the following breaking news from the White House:
* President will address the nation Tuesday at 8pm from West Point US Military Academy, where he will announce his decision on US troop levels in Afghanistan

November 25th, 2009 | 1:44 pm | #1
More appropriate he deliver the long overdue wafflefest in the Naval court where they will persecute three American heroes for giving a terrorist murderer and mutilater a fat lip.
His heart will be in Mecca with Granma.
November 25th, 2009 | 1:49 pm | #2
What’s even more significant….and certainly more news worthy….is the fact that the UN will dig down deep and send five thousand troops to Afghanistan, in support of the American effort. Just imagine, five thousand troops from the rest of the free world!!
If I had the power, I’d kick that worthless organization out of New York City so fast it would make your head spin. We would be resigned from that George Soros controlled corruptogang before nightfall.
As for the president and West Point? No matter how hard he tries, this president is going to fair no better than Bill Clinton, when it comes to relations with the military. Hated is too strong a word…..but strongly disliked might be too weak.

You would think that after 11 months the guy would get one thing right, just one. But Oh No, not Barack Obama. Everything is a photo op, it’s all about making himself ‘look good’, it’s all about making history. It’s going to be really historic being the first black one term President!

I never knew simply making a decision is such a momentous occasion for him. Guess he’ll manage to slip in a shot or two at Bush and try to convince us there actually is an exit strategy short of victory.
Problem with such high visibility stagecraft is if things don’t go as planned he will validate that he is a narcissistic idiot.
Smoke, mirrors and props.

Remember when bush gave a speech and if anyone was in a uniform within 20 miles, we were told he was politicizing the military.

not that they won’t want to, just that they won’t do it.

“Duty, Honor, Country.”
Mr. Barack Hussein Obama is:
Anti-duty, dishonest, and anti-American.
Impeach Obama!!!

Everyone of those cadets should stand up and turn their backs on him.
oh and Chris….at least some of President Bush’s family has actually served in our military and were born in the United States, unlike the current Marxist Muslim pretending to be president as he goes around the world on our dime for all of his “special” photo ops. Try not to be such a Libtard……
November 25th, 2009 | 5:01 pm | #19
Just before Obama speaks, the Commander of the Corps of Cadets should issue an “About Face!” command to the Corps.
The Long Grey Line turning their backs on the faux C-in-C that has turned his backs on all our troops in harms way.
But they won’t because, they DO honor their motto.

When did BHO serve any time in the US military? All BHO does is photo ops, he has not accomplished one positive thing for America.
Realise he is your Troll Chief, but please go play with your dollies somewhere else. You are boring.

Chris – The perfect indictment of the empty suit called “Barack Hussein Obama” (by a Lebanese American) -
“He brings disaster upon his nation who never sows a seed, or lays a brick, or weaves a garment, but makes politics his occupation.”
Kahil Gibran
Has the guy ever worked a day in his life?
Has he ever collected a check from anyone but the US Taxpayer or taxpayer funded ACORN?
Has he ever some much as ran a f***ing lemonade stand in his entire worthless, dope smoking, coddled life?

Great post Harry Flashman!
November 25th, 2009 | 5:57 pm | #23
“Has the guy ever worked a day in his life?”
Yes, he taught constitutional law at Harvard. Just like you I’m sure.
“Has he ever collected a check from anyone but the US Taxpayer or taxpayer funded ACORN?”
Yes, see above.
“Has he ever some much as ran a f***ing lemonade stand in his entire worthless, dope smoking, coddled life?”
Hard to argue he was coddled, as he grew up in a broken household.
November 25th, 2009 | 6:35 pm | #24
Chris,
For a “teacher”(?) of constitutional law, he sure doesn’t know much about the constitution. How about “innocent till proven guilty”? He DID say that at the trial they will be found guilty and executed. Try ‘em and hang ‘em, that;s constitutional. And he expounded (not taught, you need knowledge for that) at Chicago, not Haaarvaaard.
November 25th, 2009 | 6:37 pm | #25
How could he possibly “teach” what he neither recognizes nor comprehends?
“The Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what states can’t do to you. Says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf.” Barack Obama,2001.
The only Constitutional responsibilities the Federal Govt. has is to protect its citizens from force or fraud.
“The government was set to protect man from criminals – and the Constitution was written to protect man from the government.”
Ayn Rand
Not coddled? Punahou School in the seething ghetto of Honolulu, five blocks from his granparents house. Occidental College in the gang infested LA burb of Eagle Rock. Then, on to Columbia, the University that produced Lou Gehrig – a very long time ago. Then gets into “Hahvad” Law School.
All, ostensibly, by “scholarships” which must now be the PC doublespeak for “Affirmitive Action”
But, the citizens over whom he presides don’t know how he really got through school becuase we haven’t been allowed access to the constitutional law teachers records at any level. More of that absolute “transparency” that he and his thugocracy are known for.
Definetly the story of a hard done upon, po’ mulritracial kid fighting his way up through the white overclass oppression by guile and charm, fang and claw.
Yeah, Chris – CODDLED, every single paid-for-by-somebody-else step of the way.

aah, good ole chris with the same rhetorical lie, uh, line..
Bush makes historic speech aboard warship
[Admiral Kelly, Captain Card, officers and sailors of the USS Abraham Lincoln, my fellow Americans, major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed.]
ipso facto:
the USS Abraham Lincoln mission “was accomplished”.. Saddam & his Regime had been demolished..
[We have difficult work to do in Iraq. We're bringing order to parts of that country that remain dangerous. We're pursuing and finding leaders of the old regime who will be held to account for their crimes.
[..]
The transition from dictatorship to democracy will take time, but it is worth every effort. Our coalition will stay until our work is done and then we will leave and we will leave behind a free Iraq. ]
the “mission accomplished” sign was meant for the ship & crew (they were on their way home), not “the war in Iraq”, but regardless.. Bush did not say “the war is over”.. he simply stated the “mission was accomplished”, and to that i say, there is no denying it was..

While that may have been true at one time, today’s USMA is more commited to churning out and nurturing the “purfumed princes” of tomorrow.
Perhaps a change in national leadership will lead to a change in the military (away from diversity at all costs), which will lead to a change in the way we train leaders. One can but hope.

i remember the point at the time was the lincoln had been underway for an extended period of time.
“The banner signified the successful completion of the ship’s deployment,” Cmdr. Chun continued noting that the Abraham Lincoln was deployed 290 days, longer than any other nuclear-powered aircraft carrier in history.

pardon the source/s.. :D
[1. You don’t actually learn the law in law school, at least not at a school like Chicago. Law school is for training you to think through arguments like a lawyer would, and to give you a lay of the land in various fundamental legal areas. Put another way: after spending two quarters studying Contracts with Richard Epstein, I had no idea how to actually draft a contract.
[..]
Spring quarter of my second year, I took Voting Rights and Election Law as a seminar with Professor Obama. Now, let’s be clear: in a school with a lot of Somebodies – Richard Posner, Frank Easterbrook, Cass Sunstein and David Currie – he was a relative nobody, and even compared with other younger faculty, it was Larry Lessig and Elena Kagan who had more of the hype. But Obama was teaching a course in a subject I wanted to study – at a point when I realized that law school was too short to be spent in classes that felt obligatory – and that made it an easy decision.]
guess one could call that an inside poop scoop, but non the less quite revealing, not to mention his students didn’t know he wasn’t a professor.. but then again, he’s presumably the president of the US, so what do i know..
truth sarc on/
too bad he didn’t teach at Harvard Medical School vs Chi-U.. oh wait.. silly me, he really wasn’t a “professor” & he didn’t actually teach “constitutional law” now did he, duh!!

Quick story about Army that chris and B. Hussien will never “get.”
A while back Army was in a football game against ND. At the end of the game Army scored a TD. If the cadets kicked the extra point, they would have had a tie against a national college football power.
The coach went for the two-point conversion which failed losing the game. The coach when asked (by an idiot like chris or obama) said, we’re here to teach these men to WIN.
Tom Osborn did the same in a big bowl game. Same motivation.
Effing Obama and all liberal scumbags should be shunned.

As a West Point grad, I’m slightly appalled that Zero is using my Alma Mater as a photo-op for his latest Spotlight Ranger address to the nation.
But on the humorous side, it’s telling that our Naif-in-Chief thinks that addressing 4000 newby future LTs on the topic of war makes more sense than, say, making his announcement at the Army War College in front of battle-hardened veteran leaders.
Hmmm. Maybe that’s the point.
I wonder if Bammy’s going to make sure the cadets get free beer and a rock concert before he speaks.
