kerry served in vietnam until he got shot in the a$$ in his swiftboat while in full retreat from the action. That wounding took the fight out of him and turned him into a liberal. But at least he got his ticket punched. Carter also served in the Navy in submarines but also was overwhelmed by military life.
Bush like Reagon never served in the combat zone, but at least they where tough war presidents. That trumps cowardice everytime.
I served in the military and many of my fellow troops where gungho but we also had alot of slackers.

What did I post that is not true?
Bush volunteered to serve in Vietnam, but needed more flight hours. His father did nothing to protect him. After all, Bush 41 was a war hero himself and proud of his service.
Back to Kos Kids for you. How old were you during the Vietnam War? In case you don’t remember . . . enlisting in the National Guard was considered honorable and many times those Guard units got called up to serve.

I read this blog all the time, but this is the second time in about a week you’ve had a headline that was misleading (which is not what I’m used to with something connected to First Things). You can see from the transcript that Matthews was more or less trying to summarize the point being made by one of the guests. Your headline clearly suggests that Matthews, no conservative, was sort of editorializing about Obama’s decision/indecision.
I think he’s dithering too, for the record.

With Iraq done the focus on A-stan was the only logic conclusion one way or the other. It took Obama 93 days to make this decision? That’s lame. I guess golfing and playing Chamberlain to the islamo-fascists was more important than doing his god damn job!
He’s the CiC, what he should have done 93 days ago is simple: call in the generals, sit down with them, and then make the call. That would take a few days, but not three months.
But yeah, golfing is much more important. Boring the Japanese Diet to death with some sob stories from childhood is more important. Bowing like a coolie and avoiding eye contact with the Japanese emperor (eye contact the emperor was seeking when they shook hands, the video’s clear) is more important. Kissing mohammedan ass is more important. Wanting to bring “moderate taliban” into A-stan’s government is more important. Going to Denmark for the olympic bid is more important than the lives of US servicemen and women.
That’s when you make a guy CiC who usually votes “present”.

Actually, john (the traitor) kerry served only four months of a thirteen-month tour.
And don’t start blathering about his “wounds” in action. One was self-inflicted (and very minor) and another was a scrape on his forearm like a kid would have gotten falling off of a bicycle (but not as bad). When he said he wanted a Purple Heart, his CO and the doctor both laughed at him and threw him out of the office. So he put himself in for the PH. (A *real* hero)
And kerry was so idiotic while on patrol that he was more of a danger to his men than to the enemy. His own men started requesting duty with other leaders and/or going on sick call to avoid having to go out with a fool who’d probably kill them or get them killed.
And, when I worked for a govt. agency back awhile ago, I met kerry and was around him while he was playing with the VVAW. I believed then – and i believe now – that john kerry was working for a foreign government against the United States; and I have seen nothing in his subsequent actions to change that opinion of him.
