In October 2006 CNN broadcast scenes from an al-Qaeda snuff film on the air showing a US soldier being shot dead in Iraq.
But they wouldn’t show the Danish Mohammad cartoons out of fear that they would upset a certain group of radicals.
Now, the Mudville Gazette is reporting that CNN distorted a soldier’s words to defend the radical Islamic killer at Fort Hood:
Foster was not only there, not only sitting in the second row – he was one of those wounded in the attack. But two minutes later in the interview, Foster would try to downplay Roberts’ implication that he was a hero:
ROBERTS: So you were acting like a soldier. You were acting heroically. We should point out that you’re with the 20th Engineer Battalion and despite your best efforts and I guess the efforts of your comrades, as well, four members of the battalion were killed, 10 others were injured. And you were shot in the hip and you didn’t realize it at the time?
Foster: I had realized it at first, but with that much adrenaline, you tend to forget things.
Meaning very specifically that an adrenaline rush can help you overcome pain – or in Foster’s case forget you’ve been shot. That’s a common combat story, but true of any violent situation. But here’s how CNN is reporting their own interview now:
Among the wounded in the shooting was Pvt. Joseph Foster, 21, who was hit in the hip as he sat at the base’s military processing center, preparing paperwork for his January deployment to Afghanistan.
He said he “was sitting in about the second row back when the assailant stood up and yelled ‘Allahu akbar’ in Arabic and he opened fire,” Foster said Monday on CNN’s “American Morning.”
Foster, 21, said he wasn’t clear about whether the gunman said those exact words, noting that “with that much adrenaline, you tend to forget things.”
And hero or not, that’s what you get for telling CNN something they don’t want to hear.

I cannot understand why the media wants to defend those, if given a chance, would inflict painful death upon them.

Years ago columnist Mike Royko warned of the dangers posed by the people coming out of the nation’s journalism schools, one danger is that their educations are so poor that they have problems making sense of the world around them. CNN is just another example of the poor educations that pass muster in the world of journalism.

The young man was shot in the hip……so whether Hasan shouted out in Arabic or not really makes little difference when you have a bullet in your a$$! There is plenty of evidence that Hasan was a Muslim terrorist who promoted hate of non-Muslims, even in the military and now may have had contact with al Queda.

“U.S. Aware of Hasan Efforts to Contact al Qaeda
ABC News is reporting that U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.
It is not known whether the intelligence agencies informed the Army that one of its officers was seeking to connect with suspected al Qaeda figures, the officials said.
Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-MI), the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said that he requested the CIA and other intelligence agencies brief the committee on what was known, if anything, about Hasan by the U.S. intelligence community, only to be refused.
In response, Hoekstra issued a document preservation request to four intelligence agencies. The letter, dated November 7th, was sent to directors Dennis Blair (DNI), Robert Mueller (FBI), Lt. Gen Keith Alexander (NSA) and Leon Panetta (CIA).”

A fellow I know flew a helicopter for the Coast Guard during Katrina. He was interviewed by a CNN ‘reporter’ about what he saw and did. When he saw her report later, he said that her commentary was pretty much the opposite of what he had told her. He told me, “If you got your information about Katrina from CNN, then you have no idea what Katrina was about.” As documented here, CNN continues that proud tradition.

There’s very little credibility left in today’s ‘professional’ journalism and CNN is running on fumes.

So CNN operates not merely by taking quotes out of context, but by reinserting those same quotes into new and different contexts — to support the narrative that CNN has decided to sell, of course.
Stay the hell away from CNN and their AVID editing machines. Apparently they don’t interview people so much as use people as unpaid actors in whatever movie they want to push on people this week as “news.”

Cliff Kincaid (AIM) ran an excellent series of articles on the history of journalism in the US.
Post WWII The New York Times and most popular media refused to run any news about Stalin’s gulags, slave labor camps in the USSR. There were about 7-11 millions died of starvation ….estimate about 4-5 million were children. And all while the Hollywood elite were entertaining them with champaign and cavier.

It is stunning to see a video that CNN had a vantage point to film a US soldier being shot. Is there a conspiracy here? Does CNN run by radical islamists now?

In other news, I heard that white men were bringing guns to anti-Obama rallies because they were racist. Except it was a black man, but why bother with such little details when there’s a story to write?

I stopped watching CNN years ago because of their obvious and constant bias. I just wish we had local TV news channels like Fox News. There’s probably a big market for local news other than the left wing stuff served up by all the local stations in my area.

CNN.com also ran the obligatory “Muslims fear backlash” article on their website yesterday. There were hundreds of comments, mostly of the “you gotta be kidding – Islam needs to condemn jihad”, and today I can’t find that article no matter how I search.
HMMmmm. Wonder why it’s gone today?

Why is the FBI raiding the Mosque Hasan attended and at the same time the military officials were welcoming the Mosque leaders to the Ft. Hood memorial?! Why did Obama use the word ‘heartbroken’ to describe his feelings toward the massacre? How about disgusted, angered, etc.?

I saw Pvt. Foster, and his wife interviewed live on CNN. He said he heard “Alluh Akbar” in Arabic before the shooting. Roberts then repeated it back (as if it was incredulous that it could have happened like that) and the soldier said “I believe so, sir”.
It’s clear that’s what he heard.
CNN is despicable for twisting his words like that, to fit their perverted agenda.
November 10th, 2009 | 2:58 pm | #29
Let’s see how far the double standard can be pushed before it breaks completely. CNN is already slanting the news in Hasan’s favor, but CNN has held “teabaggers” in utter contempt. I suppose we’ll eventually get a confession from somebody in the media that terrorists aren’t dangerous and deserve compassion and respect but that taxpayers (voters, citizens, “teabaggers”) are and don’t.

Because they are cowards who are mortally terrified and appeasement is the only thing they know.
When you call terrorism what it is, it scares them to death and they are telling you to shut up, in the hopes the terrorists will go away. When terrorists attack, it scares them to death and they apologize to the terrorists and say its your fault in the hopes that the terrorists will go away. If they have the opportunity, to paraphrase Churchill, they will feed you to the alligator first, in the hopes of saving themselves.
Dont ever be fooled by their rationalizations. They do it because they are cowards who are deathly afraid.
