One of the men attacked is 62 years old. Dave Caulkett of FLIMEN (Floridians for Immigration Enforcement) is assaulted and then kicked in the face while he is down. The other camera man from the Tea Party is hit with several signs.
Those attacking the Americans that oppose Amnesty for illegal aliens were organized by ANSWER Florida.

Go read just about any HuffPo thread. You will see that I am right. They are openly expressing their hopes that someone like yourself will do something like you suggest. I read a ten-page thread there yesterday, (about the MSM-erased story of the arrest of one Joseph Moshe), it was hard to read, because 9 out of ten comments said things like “Good. One less Rethuglikkkkan.” and the most common comment on ANY thread about ANY topic there, “Lock them all up. Every one of them. We have to lock them all up. They’re going to do something.” and uncountable variations on that theme.
You go and do that as a response. Then it’s open season on Conservatives, their end-goal. And they do have the majority of the police on their side, and the lawyers, and the judges, and the states, and the FBI, and the CIA, and the rest of the fed. So go and do that, give them what they want, and get ready for the pogrom.
Sound extreme? Wait a year and get back to me on that.

So we shouldn’t defend ourselves because that’s exactly what they want?
Then what are people supposed to do? If the authorities won’t enforce the law — as in St. Louis — then so long as people continue to speak their minds, the thugs will increase the violence. THAT’S the end-game: the thugs want us to shut up, and they’ll keep getting more violent until we do or they pay a price for their violence.
The only way to prevent this from getting out of hand is if the authorities DO THEIR JOBS. The longer they refuse, the more likely serious violence.
So we have to keep pressure on the authorities — local, state, federal — to prosecute these criminals. That means the crimes have to be documented, and publicized. EVERY protest should have designated videographers, some obviously joining the protest and others NOT TAKING PART, just documenting.
If something happens, put together as many angles of the event as you can get — UNCUT, just tack the camera views end-to-end — along with the information on who to contact in local authorities.

If any smart people want to do something far more effective than rolling around in the mud with ANSWER, I’ve been promoting this plan for almost three years, getting almost zero help with it. Some people even try to dissuade others from following that plan, when it could be devastatingly effective against those who support amnesty.
Write your leaders and ask them why they’re promoting useless street demonstrations instead of smarter, more effective ways to achieve the same ends.

This isn’t surprising at all. I’ve been attacked twice at ANSWER “peace” marches in DC, once by an ANSWER demonstration manager. While most of the goofballs who go to anti-war marches love have their photo taken (it’s a big party for them), the radicals who form the spine of these demonstrations don’t. They hate cameras and will demand you not take photos of them, even though they are demonstrating in a public space. However, videocams really set the radicals off. Both times I was attacked, I was videotaping demonstrations. In the case of the ANSWER demonstration manager, I was videotaping the march passing by in the street when he angrily approached me and demanded I stop. When I refused and began taping him, he attacked. We wrestled for a few seconds and then he broke it off. He went off somewhere, got a camera, took a picture of me, and made some vague threat that they’d be looking for me.
When you videotape the ANSWER peace thugs, you should always take a buddy with you. They’ll only attack singletons. If you have a partner, they’ll back off because they’re cowards. You also should be ready to call the police and press charges.

Send somebody with a videocamera to videotape them up close while you have another videocam taping at a distance to capture the inevitable attack. Getting attacked on a busy street is not ’staging’ in any way, shape or form. That is not a ’safe’ thing to do. It is smart to have someone at a distance to cover these events, particularly if you have friends involved counter-demonstrating or just trying to get close-ups.
Of course when a Leftist actually goes one step further and kills someone, then the media will play up to how the killer was just ‘defending his speech’… thereby sanctifying political based killing. And a long stick used to hit someone and chase them into traffic is a very deadly intent.
So when is it right to defend yourself when that happens? Not everyone is able to learn or physically able to perform Karate, Savate, Jiu-Jitsu, Krav Maga, or other of the martial arts modern and ancient, although Savate comes the closest to what most people could do for this sort of thing. To those saying that you shouldn’t carry to political encounters, just how much blood has to be spilled before you will support one’s right not to be beaten for your political beliefs? Or will you still be standing by that position while people are killed and the media applauds?
There are a number of Open Carry States. I do suggest that people understand their rights and exercise them in a civil fashion. It might just get some politeness back into the polity when you do so. Unless you like seeing people beaten for their political beliefs, that is… using one civil right to protect another is no ill and perfectly lawful so long as YOU are law abiding. Politeness starts with you, and your ability to demonstrate you expect others to behave in a civil fashion with respect to your civil rights.

imho it’s just an expression, a release of pent up frustration due to
the fact that thuggery is obviously condoned by the powers that be..
no one but a fellow whack job is going to do any such thing.. but i suspect it doesn’t work both ways, and the MSM ignoring their attacks on innocent dissidents only serves to embolden them.. ergo, i predict there will come a time when “putting hot lead in them” will become justified, they haven’t crossed that line yet, but if they are free to inflict harm on whomever they deem unworthy of deploying freedom of speech, and no one is standing in their way, hot lead it will be, and not by choice, by necessity..

Bush’s National Security Presidential Directive 51 suspended the US Constitution whenever he and his cronies felt like it, which apparently was quite often. Nearly all of those NSPD’s are still in effect.

You know, up until now I would have agreed with all of the people insisting we need to deal with this via the “ballot box.” However, with the voter intimidating thugs, on top of MULTIPLE attacks on peaceful demonstrators, and then finally a senior citizen getting brutally attacked by a gang of thugs after already being knocked to the ground, I’m ready to channel the spirit of Fighting Fred Funston. We need to hang the treacherous savages, every last damn one of them.

I would like to set the record straight. As someone who was there, and involved.
I was the first person to cross the street (Not shown in any video). I went there to offer American flags to the AMSWER protesters because they had clearly forgotten theirs in their mom’s basements.
I asked on of the people present who had a camera to accompany me as I offered American flags (for free) to the ANSWER people. As I crossed the street with about 20 flags in hand, the fat bald guy ( seen in the video fight later) stuck his sign in my face ( yes it hurt, it was assault) I did not react, instead I politely offered him an American flag, he declined and called me a name I don’t care to repeat here.
I offered each of them a flag, telling them it is a free gift since I know they are patriots who simply forgot to bring theirs. All declined my offer of a free flag, preferring to hold signs with the image of Che Guevara (A violent communist killer).
There were fewer than a dozen ANSWER protesters. I am certain they could have had a better turnout had their mothers been able to wake them before 12 (The TEA party peaceful demonstration started at 1 pm)

I’m sorry, while many have no doubt posted sane responses on how to handle any response, I’ve now passed wanting to feel “sane”.
I’m ticked off, militantly so, and frankly I feel this slight incremental way of handling these incidents, it’s what got us to this point in the first place.
This country IS a tinder box, and about to blow. And I certainly will NOT be on the left’s side…

Almost 20 years ago I lived in West Virginia during a major strike by the United Mine Workers. This was the most peace-full strike in the history of the UMW because almost everyone had a video camera. Only one man was murdered by UMW thugs. He was an environmental technician working for a contractor who was monitoring the shut down coal mine for the EPA. He was not a strikebreaker and had a good reason to cross the picket lines. The UMW was sued by the victim’s widow. Union bosses told the UMW members to use violence and the union was forced to pay up.
BRING MANY VIDEO CAMERAS! TALK TO LAWYERS! USE DEADLY FORCE ONLY IN CLEAR SELF DEFENSE!
