This May Be the Nail in the Coffin to Global Warming Junk Science—
Renowned statistician and software engineer Eric S. Raymond (ESR) says the global warming “hockey stick” graph data was “hard-coded” or purposefully “fudged.”
Dr. Michael Mann, who co-authored the famous graph of temperature trends dubbed the “hockey stick graph,” was implicated in Climategate this week. Mann’s controversial work has been challenged in the past.
Today, Reboot Congress reported this stunning news- that the “hockey stick” was fudged.
On his blog Eric Raymond (ESR) comments:

IPCC Researchers Admit Global Warming Fraud
[Among the IPCC elite embarrassingly, if not criminally, compromised is Phillip D. Jones, a Ph.D. climatologist at the University of East Anglia whose work figured prominently in the IPCC Third Assessment Report of 2001. Jones also contributed significantly to the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report in 2007 (AR4), but he failed to follow through when skeptical investigators asked to review raw data associated with that report. They announced intent to use UK Freedom of Information laws to obtain the data, so Jones sent the following e-mail to one of his collaborators: "Mike, Can you delete any e-mails you may have had with Keith re AR4? Keith will do likewise.... Can you also e-mail Gene and get him to do the same?... Will be getting Caspar to do likewise." The Mike in this message is Michael Mann, professor of meteorology at Pennsylvania State University, whose influential "hockey stick" graph warning of pending global warming eco-catastrophe was found by a congressional investigation to be fraudulent. In another correspondence about AR4 labeled HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL, Jones contacted Mann regarding research critical of their global warming platform. "I can't see either of these papers being in the next IPCC report," wrote Jones. "Kevin and I will keep them out somehow — even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!"
Mann received another incriminating e-mail from Dr. Kevin Trenberth, a New Zealander now with the University of Colorado and Head of the Climate Analysis Section at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. "The fact is we can't account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can't." An incredulous Trenberth simply blamed "our [inadequate] observing system.” Yet he and his colleagues are now dodging the “Climategate” bullet, indignant that global warming skeptics are supposedly taking their comments out of context. One wonders if they might be referring to a message from Jones who wrote about a statistical “trick” he used to “hide” data. Or perhaps they mean Mann’s reference to climate change skeptics as “idiots.”]

The US is becoming like Mexico both literally(with half of Mexico moving to the US) but also by the mass corruption in government. If you have money you can bribe your congressman (in the US it’s called campaign contributions).
Everyone in government is on the the take. It would not surprise one bit if the whitehouse partycrashers slip the secret service a $20.00 dollar bill to get into the party. (just like mexican citizens have to pay a bribe for everything in Mexico).
We are getting the “best” government that money can buy. It’s so pervasive that congressman consider it a normal way of doing business.

I would like to think that this is the death sentence to man-made global warming, however I fear this is wishful thinking. So long as most media outlets ignore this and the ‘experts’ keep their funding and their posts, it won’t go away. They will ‘explain away’ some ‘bad judgment’ and things will continue as normal, albeit the ‘experts’ are now paranoid and will delete all data that wasn’t exposed.
I fear that we’ll have to wait until 2018 for this entire belief system to completely collapse. Why 2018? It is in 2018 that the next solar cycle begins and according to Dr. Tim Patterson it is expected to be unusually weak, as weak as solar cycles were 125 years ago, leading to noticeable cooling worldwide causing crop failures and thus food shortages.
All we can do tell then is prevent any sort of cap-and-trade from passing and ensure that the CO2 levels continue to climb. They need to continue to climb and there needs to be no cap-and-trade so that these hapless socialists have nothing to fall back on when the planet cools. If CO2 emissions are cut, they can say ’see we told you’ even though they’d be lying like BJ Clinton. I only hope Al Gore is still alive then–so he can witness his world collapsing all around him.

First time to really take a look at the hockey stick graph. Forget the code, LOOK at it!
It’s like some newbie commodity trader’s sales pitch for his incredible commodity price-predictor. “According to my system, WHEAT contracts will be HOT HOT HOT. Go LONG!”
HOW on EARTH can temps just go UP like that? It’s not only crap, it’s sophomoric crap. Guess they only attracted hacks at all levels. Real professionals must have avoided them like the plague.

Mann should have his doctorate removed. He cleary doesn’t deserve it.
But that’s actually old news. Just to name the following, who have been going after the hockey stick for years:
McIntyre & McKitrick, the two Canadians found out that, if you use the original methods for the hockey stick, it doesn’t matter what data you enter, you ALWAYS get a hockey stick. And after correcting a few blatant errors in it, they managed to “find” a warming in the 15th century that is similar to the 20th century. They published it in the Dutch paper “Natuurwetenschap & Techniek”
Hans von Storch found out that fluctuations in temperature are censored out of the hockey stick. He called the hockey stick “utter nonsense”. His findings were published in “Science” and also in “Der Spiegel” in 2004.
Ulrich Cubasch is professor in Berlin. Cubasch had a student, who was working on her doctorate, deal with the hockey stick, but the student soon realized that she couldn’t reproduce Mann’s graph.
And Mann still refuses to publish his files and data. It’s blatantly obvious tha the has something to lose there. Otherwise he’d have published all of it long ago.

The one question that I am not hearing asked is WHY? Why would scientists abandon scientific procedure and risk their careers? What do they have to gain? M-O-N-E-Y. That’s right folks; I believe that it is the almighty buck. It probably would not be hard to research all of the grant money that these institutions have gotten for global warming research and from whom. Why would they feel so confident that they would not be found out? They felt protected because they have so many blind, oblivious followers of garbage science. This is a fraud.
If any funding that they received was government money (pretty much from any government) wouldn’t that at constitute fraudulent use of government funds?

Michael Mann and a few others are on a head trip. They have this ego need to see articles published under their name. This is enabled by them getting more research grants to get more published under their name. The “peer review” is done by the dirty dozen of other corrupt scientists that refuse to release their data and their math equations. Drug companies get every math and study checked by outsiders.

Note that ESR is *not* a renowned statistician.
However, he is an engineer and is most known for his deep analysis of the “open source software” industry.
Why is what he says important? Because of all the pundits out there he cuts to the chase: the code and data hold all the truth. If the CRU scientists are uncomfortable releasing *everything* then something is rotten in Copenhagen.
These are climate scientists, not researchers trying to patent the Next Big Thing so their desire for secrecy is troubling. They’re also funded by taxpayers around the world (implicitly or explicitly). Transparency should be paramount.
I think any scientist is going to understand that modeling data is a messy problem to begin with. Fine. But ‘messy’ turns into ‘broken’ when your data is bogus and your model hasn’t fit the data for the last 10 years.
It sure feels like a major science failure but can anyone see how this gets unwound politically?

This is a criminal act on a massive scale. Millions of dollars were stolen from people in the form of tax dollars, across the world from this. And now, the fraud in the oval office, is going to a fraud climate summit in Copenhagen, to promote this fraud. It certainly says something about this man doesn’t it. What else is he willing to lie about? His natural born status? No, couldn’t happen right? The one true sentence to come out of his mouth, is “I was born in Hawaii.” Wait until that one is proven. This deserves serious prison time for all of those, that have perpetrated this fraud, including that lying fraud AL GORE!

… because “Climategate” implies that the media is acting like attack dogs to uncover the scandal, as opposed to what we have seen from them so far: the sweeping of the scandal under the bridge, er, rug. (HT: Donald Douglas)
Climaquiddick is proof positive of what I have asserted for a long time …
… that greed and self-serving agendas are not the exclusive purview of those whose publicly-stated intention is to make a profit …
… that even “non-profit” entities like the scientific, academic, and social-activist communities, and our various levels of government, can become environments for the expression and expansion of self-serving agendas that run counter to the public interest …
… and therefore such as these are not inherently more noble than those engaged in free enterprise, which is what the statists keep wanting us to believe in order to enable their expansion.
The same goes for the perceived superiority of the “secular” over the “spiritual” … for the zeal with which the participants in Climaquiddick were willing to fold/spindle/mutilate the evidence to preserve their belief system at all costs beats anything I’ve seen coming out of even the most fundamentalist communities in Christianity … for at least the latter admits when they’re operating on faith. OTOH, the behavior of the former smacks of the behavior you see in cults.
These inconsistencies in the Leftist/statist position need to be articulated repeatedly … because years of deference to the conventional wisdom of our elites have led many to believe that the “non-profit” and “secular” are inherently more noble than the profit-making and spiritual, respectively … and these beliefs must be debunked and discredited in order to reinforce the efforts underway to preserve our liberty, in the face of those who now are trying to Save the Legacy of Woodstock Nation by imposing it upon us all.
