The democrat’s vote to take over the nation’s health care system may be delayed.
Speaker Pelosi apparently has bought off enough blue dogs, yet.
MSNBC reported:
House Democrats acknowledged they don’t yet have the votes to pass a sweeping overhaul of the nation’s health care system, and signaled they may push back the vote until Sunday or early next week.
Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., told reporters in a conference call Friday that the make-or-break vote on President Barack Obama’s top priority that had been set for Saturday could face delay.
The apparent problem: Democrats have yet to resolve intraparty disputes over abortion funding and illegal immigrants’ access to health care.

She may still be in the process of bribing or browbeating them into submission, but I read that she will be bringing out the big guns – as in The Won – on Saturday. He was supposed to meet with Dems on the Hill today, but put it off after yesterday’s massacre at Ft. Hood. We are not out of the woods yet. Depends on how persuasive he is and what they offer to sweeten the pot. Landrieu (LA) has signaled that she is amenable to voting for the bill.

It’s hard to threaten someone with sanctions when they look at you and ask how you think that will affect me if I am voted out of office if I support this abomination. It’s an empty threat.
Offer them a carrot and it’s the same thing, “How does this help me if I am thrown out of office?”
I’d say Nancy and the Won have a dilemma on their hands.

Then, of course, they’ll try the same on the Cap-and-Trade Load-O’Crap. Then the next stimulus Load-O’Crap. Somewhere in there, they’ll approve throwing wads of money at ACORN-under-another-name.
Call me subversive, but the best thing that could happen for this country right now is a MASSIVE outbreak of H1N1 in Washington DC.
I beseech the Almighty:
Please, God, let Congress stay home and DO NOTHING for a couple of weeks. Let them propose nothing and pass nothing; no debates, no fact-finding, no investigations, no politicking, speechifying, or grandstanding. Please be merciful to us lowly citizens, O Lord, and let all the politicians and legislators and lobbyists sit home and shut up for a few weeks. Amen.

Sunday morning when Christians are likely to be in church would be a good time for them to try to sneak this through. Actually, their actions appear more and more self-defeating. They are continuing to add more and more things that will lose them support among the Congressional Representatives. the bid to force medical premium increases on everyone to pay for abortions is just the latest example. We, of course, don’t know what bribes they are using to bring in more votes, but we can see the ones they are driving away.

Pelosi and Reid have put themselves in a catch-22 situation. If they appease the far-left (public option, funded abortions), they lose the (so-called) Blue Dogs. If they appease the (so-called) Blue Dogs (no public option, no funded abortion), they lose the far-left.
Either way, they lack the votes to pass it.
Even if the House somehow manages to pass it, Reid doesn’t have the votes for cloture.
And the more they push the issue, the more they fracture their party. It is a beautiful thing to watch.
