Sam Donaldson on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday warns Republicans not to follow the lead of Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck:

Let me tell you that the wake-up call for the Republicans was the New York’s 23rd. Now just as Rush Limbaugh couldn’t prevent the Party from nominating John McCain despite his best efforts, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and the gang could not prevent that district for the first time in a hundred years from going Democratic. Because they had a candidate, well he wasn’t a Republican, I understand that, who was the Sarah Palin values, the robocalls and all of that. It didn’t resonate. It doesn’t resonate with independents. If the Republican Party follows the course of Palin and Beck and Company it’s doomed.

And we all know that state-run media lackey Sam Donaldson has the GOP’s best interest at heart.

Via NewsBusters

Just last week Katie Couric warned Republicans to stay away from Limbaugh and Palin.
Donaldson is lagging a bit behind with his party talking points.

Sounds as though CONSERVATIVES are getting to the LEFTIES. BTW it is not true that this district has been republican for 100 years….. according to Wikipedia the district last had a Democrat Representative from 1979 to 1993….. the Dems are playing games with semantics as the Districts boundaries have changed over the years.

Please check the facts; it may seem like a 100 years, but the last time a Democrat held NY23 was 1989. One year after President Bush Sr. was elected (1988) and a year before we went to war in the Gulf (1990).

And we all know that the McCain nomination was a rousing success for the GOP, and the 23rd district in New York chose wisely in Owens, who broke all his major campaign promises within an hour of being sworn in.

By November of 2010 Limbaugh, Beck, and Palin will be seen as scary-brilliant prophets who were right about pretty much everything.

I worry about Beck being right–given the stakes–but would rather worry about him being right than have something hit me out of the blue due to the left never holding anyone accountable with regard to spending. He already was prophetic as in only a couple weeks after stating that along this course, the dollar would be worthless, the government of India bought $200,000,000,000.00 in gold bullion with our currency.

To think, between 1900 and 2008 the value of the USD has decreased by 2455.00%, or simply put, $1.00 in 1900 was worth $25.55 in 2008….the latter figure probably being around $30.00 now.

OT but worthwhile to everyone who’s ready to give up on the U.S.:

Obama Doesn’t “Get” the Military He Commands

Jeremy is a young man who, faced with the prospect that doctors may soon have to amputate his other leg, replied matter of factly, “If that happens, I’ll deal with it, too.” Perhaps more than any other institution in America, the military represents values like accountability, resilience, strength under adversity, achievement, and personal responsibility: qualities that used to be thought of as simply “American”. It seems strange beyond belief that a President swept into office on the shoulders of voters chanting, “Yes, We Can!” now personifies a philosophy of government based on “No, You Can’t” (without my help).

Obama doesn’t “get” the military because with every step they take, whether it’s on prosthetic legs or the steely sinews of a combat hardened Marine, their strength and independence give the lie to his defeatest rhetoric. All those unbowed shoulders, unbeaten spirits and uplifted heads make him profoundly uncomfortable.

    http://www.villainouscompany.com/vcblog/archives/2009/11/why_obama_doesn.html

Be like our troops. Don’t surrender. Fight. Make the president uncomfortable. Remind him that most of us reject his weakness, appeasement, and groveling need to be loved by foreigners.

The Democrats are scared. A repeat of NY23 with a Republican candidate that actually gets some support scares the heck out of them.

It is laughable that liberal media voices like Katie Couric, and Sam Donaldson, are trying to fool people into believing they want the Republican to have a WINNING strategy by ignoring Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Okay, so we will obviously do the opposite.

If Michael Steele believes the MSM over the conservative base….we are doomed.

    Newsflash to Katie and Sam:

Listening to Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck is EXACTLY how the republican conservative base is going to be fired up to flip the House and Senate in 2010.

When liberal pundits from Jane Hall to Rosie O’Donnell, and most of the women on “The View”, run in fear of Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin, then listening to Glenn and Rush and Sarah is EXACTLY what we are going to do.

Do these liberal newscasters and pundits realize how unintelligent they appear when they say these things to the majority of Americans???

The biggest problem we had with Hoffman in NY23 is that he was flat out an unappealing guy. Face it, he was a total geek and more than a little creepy. Plus he had the John McCain “gray” teeth, which is always yucky.

I agree with Cargosquid. The liberals and democrats are absolutely being disingenuous when they say that the loss of Hoffman in NY-23 proves that Thompson,Palin, Beck, Rush, and all the other conservatives are wrong.

Hoffman would have won if there had been more time to get the message out. He only lost by a few percentage points and the dems call that a mandate?

The fact of the matter is that Scozzafava’s husband’s union bosses strong-armed all of their members and families into voting for their precious pensions and paychecks over their Country.

I predict more and more union members will defect by 2010. Many of these union members are sick-to-their-stomach of the failed democrat policies. Many of these union members will be present in their meetings, and listen to this socialist crap coming from their leader’s mouths, and slowly get sick of it.

Many of these union members around the Country are starting to see that it’s one thing to vote for a “paid-off” to have tax dollars pad their pensions, but it is another thing to get Nancy Pelosi, Bwawny Fwank, Barack Obama, and the rest of the American-hating democrats for those thirty-pieces-of-silver.

Many of these union members are PATRIOTS inside and will defect to the conservative Republicans….and Rahm Emanual and Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi FEAR THIS.

If hacks like Donaldson and Couric are telling you to go in a certain direction, it’s probably best to go the other way.

Palin and Limbaugh are the only conservative critics who have any sway. They set a good standard for how to approach health care reform and other issues — they do not get hysterical or descend into helplessness.

NY23 had some issues that Donaldson is either ignorant about, or more likely deliberately ignoring.

The most obvious problem was Scozzafava, whose garnered 6000 votes by withdrawing from the race too late to be removed from the ballot, and after many absentee votes were cast. She also threw an endorsement behind the Democrat.

Many Republicans may not have been aware of that fact and still voted for for the supposed Republican Scozzafava. People not knowing isn’t the fault of Palin or Beck, it’s the fault of the mainstream media. Donaldson? Hello?

Hoffman had less money, he was not charismatic, and yet came close to a victory despite those facts and not being part of a major party.

Donaldson, don’t look now but your bias is showing.

Anyone who thinks we can just “undo” this bill in a few years is delusional. Name one government agency that has been eliminated or reduced in size in our lifetime? ( well except the military under a democrat).
As soon as Republicans try to “unpass” the bill the opposition will trot out all the crybabies who are going to die without their rightful government insurance, and will proceed to paint conservatives as uncaring and greedy. Look at Britain. The only thing that conservative politicians there can do is try to argue about who is going to spend less to provide the public with more. There is no politician who can ever say we are going to provide the public with less period. Ain’t ever going to happen. We are Britain now.

See, Ms. Bug-Up-the-Exhaust-Pipe? There are people who are ready to give up on the U.S. I’m trying to counter that defeatism. If you don’t like it, too bad. I don’t care. Get over the fact that I post my opinions here. You post yours, and I post mine. I almost never comment on yours, because I’m not interested in them, so you can deal with mine by ignoring them. Okay?

I’m gong to keep on countering defeatism when I see it. If you don’t like it, don’t read my posts.

i really don’t have to go anywhere.. i read the posts in here.. if there’s “surrender” in the air elsewhere, bring your psychoVabble there..

we’re doing just fine w/out being undermined as to our “character”..

as for the rest of your “EXAMPLES”..

please read bg @ #36 #38 again, only try to COMPREHEND
vs analytically twist their words to fit your perception..

by posting others comments & your opinions
of them, you’re doing exactly what i accused
    you of doing, go figure..

Apparently you hate the fact that I have opinions. Well, I don’t care. Got it? You have opinions; I have opinions. We both post them. That’s how it works here.

And guess what? I’m going to keep posting my opinions on other people’s posts. If you don’t like it, I don’t care. Is that clear enough for you? I have no clue what you’re upset about, since you’re incapable of explaining it in plain English, so let’s make a deal: You ignore my posts, and I’ll keep ignoring yours.

Because I’m not going to stop posting my opinions, any more than you’re going to stop posting yours. If Jim Hoft asks me to stop posting here, I’ll stop. But I’m not going to give in to your bizarre obsession with me.

Health care overhaul faces stone wall in Senate

WASHINGTON – The glow from a health care triumph faded quickly for President Barack Obama on Sunday as Democrats realized the bill they fought so hard to pass in the House has nowhere to go in the Senate.

Speaking from the Rose Garden about 14 hours after the late Saturday vote, Obama urged senators to be like runners on a relay team and “take the baton and bring this effort to the finish line on behalf of the American people.”

The problem is that the Senate won’t run with it. The government health insurance plan included in the House bill is unacceptable to a few Democratic moderates who hold the balance of power in the Senate.

Was all that defeatism from last night misplaced after all?

funny how Victor, uh, Craig, and Victoria, er, Tom W. sort of simultaneously bit the dust (so to speak)., perhaps you should
    analyze that transparency..

go for it, i get a headache arguing with brick walls..

Oh my goodness. Sam Donaldson is out of touch. How convenient to mention NY 23.

A totally unknown person a month ago, not given a penny from the republican party, almost wins. Did he not realize that Virginia all went to the GOP and New Jersey’s governor position went to GOP? I would listen to Rush, Sarah and Glenn (the patriots) any day before this guy or Katie Couric who are clearly out of touch.

Any healthcare “reform” bill is going to have a huge uphill battle to pass. In fact, I will be very surprised if it does. So, basically, that means that those Dems that voted on that abomination last night voted for naught and probably cemented their defeat next November (except those in some of those CA districts who cannot think on their own . . . and some of the districts in my state).

“Unfortunately appearance is everything nowadays. I highly doubt someone like Churchill could get elected on that platform–and look at what kind of statesman he was.”

“Then how do you explain Barney Frank?”

And don’t forget, Henry Waxman looks like his father was a mole.

“Then how do you explain Barney Frank?”

Political correctness. He’s got everything he needs to play the victim cards in order to get into power. Being both homosexual and hard left and apparently of Jewish ancestry (which is insulting to practicing Jews), he has everything he needed to be ‘placed’ on a throne as a useful idiot for the hard left because he cannot be criticized without those who dare try being labled anti-Semitic or homophobe.

I personally think Barney Frank looks like an old white man who gets a ton to drink every night, thus becoming a fat blithering idiot whose speech is next to impossible to make out. As things are whenever he talks, it seems like his tongue takes up 90% of his mouth. I apologize for even mentioning anything Jewish given how insulting that is, as it has nothing whatsoever to do with him, who obviously believes in no God but himself, when he’s coherent.

Palin NEVER said “Sarah Palin values” — she said, “shared values” — so Sam you don’t even verify what comes out of your mouth. So your claim as to what you are using to tout yourself as some know it all guru for the GOP makes you trite. QUIT MAKING THINGS UP. And yah, gee, the 3,400 votes or so by which Hoffmann lost — never mind the ballot which still had Scuzzyfavors on it (twice) and Owens (twice), and the absentee ballots not yet counted — wow what a mandate for you! Not.

If it wasn’t for Rush, Hannity, Levin, Palin and Bachman all we would get is lies. I think the Dems should worry about their own futures and not wring their hands about the future of the Republican Party–especially when its Axelrod feigning concern. Almost laughable if it wasn’t so paranoid.

The only way the Republican’s won’t sweep Congress next year is if there is a provision in the Healthcare Bill stating that until the economy is fixed there will be no more elections.

Some people are realists and are seeing examples of what is happening in Britain and Europe as examples of what will most likely happen in America, if Americans allow themselves to be brow beaten with political correctness, hate crimes legislations, etc., etc.

Yes the people do need to stand up and fight, but as long as the House has a majority and are voting as a block, with the Senate in tow, there will be little anyone can do until the election in 2010 for the House. Unfortunately, Obama is working hard and furious to make sure he will not lose his power…not hard to figure out that things may not go well.

If hypeman believes fighting means more of the same, without ramping up the effort in a more influential and effective way, then what America looks like in a year may be something unrecognizable.

I think people must come to the point where they believe they are at the point of no return before they will rise up and fight. Those at that point will be the first to rise to the call to save their country. God Bless them all.

Somebody find me a true journalist! I need someone to report what is going on not what they want to happen or what Obama is cliaming happened. The media in this country needs to be doen away with for our own good. Somewhere along the way they became political commentators who think they are smarter than most people. what they are is dupes for the far left wing who tells them they are so great and feeds them *&*^%% and keeps them in the dark about their true use. I don’t watch or listen to the lame stream media any more they don’t ever report a story they fictionalize it based on their personal opinion or the bribe they took to say it. Peope like Gelnn Beck Deserve to be honored for uncovering the corruption at ACORN which the lame stream media still hasn’t reported on. It would make Obama mad at them so they can’t tell the truth! America Ignore these left wing kooks, boycott their shows and just plain forget about them. Watch Fox news and sky news because they still tell you the truth in a story not some fiction that makes Obama look good. Wake Up Ameirca! The enemy is all around us and we have to fight back. Boycott the sponors of the lame stream media don’t buy their products. Don’t buy or read the NY times or the washington post or any of the dozens of papers across the cou try that print only positive stories about Obama and his administration while ignoring the corruption. This is our country the fly over people that NY elite and west coast fruit cakes don’t want to be part off. Guess what we don’t want you either. I hear france is looking to buid it’s population maybe they’ll take you in. If you can’t love America as it is get out and good ridance. Take Obama with you along with queen nancy and Reid, Gay Franks, Dodd, Warngle, Waters and the rest fo the crooks!
