In case there’s any doubt where Newsweek’s devotion lies:
newsweek palin
Via Politico
“She’s bad news for the GOP and everyone else, too.”

Yeah. She sure looks dangerous in those jogging shorts.

More… Aitch added:

It’s perfectly normal to expend this kind of energy on someone who’s “irrelevant” and a “quitter” and whose 15 minutes of political fame have already been used up, right?

NewsWeek’s political allegiance has never been in doubt. They’ve been in the tank for anything Democrat for a long time. Right along with CNN and all the rest of their family “cousins”.

What’s surprising to me is that they don’t understand; every such story and cover only INCREASES the woman’s popularity and DIMINISHES their own objectivity as a news organization.

SP will enjoy a few thousand more book sales, thanks to the great PR from those who wish her ill will. Fools.

So they have a Democratic Party they remain devoted to, that raises the cost of living with everything they get their hands upon.

Democrats raise taxation, regulations, cost of living, deficits, etc.

Does Newsweek even care about the disaster the Democrats have caused in NJ, MI, LA, CA, MASS, NY, etc?

Meanwhile they have peddled for more malaise and appeasement in the form of Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Clinton, etc., and they think Mrs. Palin is a problem?

Their mindless political bigotry has given rise to policies that have given us a Mortgage Meltdown, via the exploitation of Fanny and Freddie, the largest unemployment rate in over 20 years, the largest Fed Deficits we have ever experienced, etc.

Newsweek and other DNC controlled establishments are so filled with a political bias, their readership is sinking like the Titanic.

Yet, they continue to spin the folly, pushing the worst Carter-esque policies of appeasement and taxation on us all. Crushing freedom, opportunity, while growing dependency.

Everything Democrats have done, is an utter failure.

And now the Democrats are trying to return us all to the denial of the 1990’s, which treated a WAR like a criminal – law enforcement issue. Even the 9-11 Commission rebuked the misguided Clinton Administration for their naive – corrupt policy, which enabled the dangerous Terrorist Threat faced by the USA.

But the Democrats just never learned anything from the Carter Malaise, the Clinton Negligence, or even the failure of oppressive Communism, as well as the weak European Socialist offering.

The Democrats are doomed to send us all downward, and Newsweek is too lost to even grasp the disaster they are pushing.

It is sad. As they embrace more ugly Partisan stereotyping, and demeaning other fine Americans.

The next couple of years are shaping up as the perfect Sarah Palin moment. She’s the anti-incumbent, anti-elitist icon. The more that media establishment and beltway insiders hate her, the more she becomes the standard bearer for revolution. Romney and Pawlenty might be better presidential timber, but if America wants an outsider, Sarah’s the choice.

It’s already clear that she recognizes her opportunity and is maneuvering to exploit it. (For you liberals: by pure stupid luck she’s going to blunder her way recklessly from success to success.)

A book tour is a tried and-true strategy for a politician to test the national waters. Sarah will soon get to see the breadth and depth of interest at bookstore signings and on radio and TV.

At the same time that the media’s cherished messiah is tanking in the polls, their nemesis will be stalking the heartland. It should be fun to see just how hard they try not to cover a big story they know is about to erupt.

To cite one example of how Sarah is positioning herself as the true renegade outsider, consider the title:

This is great…really. Anytime the GOP is getting advice from the MSM, academics, or other talking heads, do the opposite.
Katie Caustic used her “notebook” piece to warn the GOP about how “destructive” Glenn Beck is, and we’ve been hearing all kinds of talk about how horrible Sarah is for the GOP. And, maybe they are correct. Sarah and Co. COULD mobilize a third party, and/or wrest control of the GOP and put the party back in the hands of true conservatives. THAT’S what scares the Libratti more than anything: A party w/leaders that (look and) sound like Ronald Regan. She has “it”, the undefinable charisma that strikes fear into the hearts of the libs.
For too long, the Democrats have relied on the inexorable pull of the GOP to the center of the road. It’s time to grab the wheel, and make a hard right…I really don’t care who falls off the bus. (Bye,bye, Dede!)

My first thought was “I kinda want her to be bad news for the GOP, as well as everyone else” I am as disgusted with the GOP as I am with the Dems– sometimes more so.

Have any of you thought about this though?:

I don’t know if she is going to do her book tour/signings at bookstores (I assume so) how is the media possibly going to be able to spin the aerial shots of full parking lots, spilling out on to major avenues in the cities she visits? Crowds backed up for hundreds of yards from the store doors waiting to see her and get their book signed doesn’t really prop up your narrative of her being a non entity now does it? :)

If she came here to a Books-A-Million I frequent, they would simply have to shut down all the other stores that share the property with them, it would be filled up right back to the Costco on the same property which is a good 1/4 mile to the other end.

What are they going to be able to say then? Everyone just really wanted coffee at the same time on that day??

The title comes from “The Sound of Music” and the song “How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?”

Pardon the drive-by, cut & paste, but I’ve said it before, FWIW:

… let me tell you my story as briefly as I can.

Back when Hillary looked like the front runner, I stated loudly and publicly on the forums I inhabit that I would stay home rather than vote for McCain ( who I dubbed Capn’ Queeg ) or any of those other tired, old Republican retreads.

Then Obama came along, and he sounded- at first– not alarming.

But when I saw the eerie, quasi- religious fanaticism of his supporters, I started getting worried- they were kooks.

So, I decided to hold my nose and vote for The Capn’ regardless, but I did not like it a bit– it felt like BobDole! BobDole! All over again.

Now Miss Emily and I have been married almost 25 years, and in all that time I have never been able to get her to vote, protest, or show any interest in politics- she was a Goldwater Girl ( the real thing, not the phony Hillary type ) who turned into a Democrat after college at a liberal arts school, and becoming a union member.

When Sarah was introduced, she actually stood up, and yelled “I want to vote for that woman!”
( And for what little it’s worth, I’d been aware of Sarah for some time, and hoped against hope she’d get the VP nomination )

And she campaigned tirelessly for her, and that, err, the white-haired guy…

And threw up all night after it became apparent that the Kenyan/Indonesian/Whateverian Usurper had it in the bag.

I don’t know if it’s enough to win an election, but there is a base of people like my wife- atypical, drawn to a new face with basically good ideas, who isn’t part of that ghastly beltway Good Old Boy network of power-happy thieves.

Rather then talk and complain about Newsweek, here is something we on the Right can do:

(Read the rest of the list too!)

    http://valley-of-the-shadow.blogspot.com/2009/11/35-things-conservatives-libertarians.html

    8. 60 Minutes spends every Sunday making ads for the Democratic party. Here are the editors,
    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/1998/07/08/60minutes/main13503.shtml
find them and talk with them. If you can’t convince with niceness, we strike harder. Make teams, especially if you are in the NY/NJ/CT area.

    9. Newsweek writes the Obama message of the week. As above, find their editors and get to know them. Ask nicely first, if they can’t see our side, ask harder at their house.

    10. Fareed Zakharia is the International Editor of Newsweek and has a CNN show. However, because he was allowed to Hate Conservatives, Republicans, President Bush and Governor Palin and has an Ivy Degree, he is allowed a platform to hate Jews and Israel. Get him off both platforms.

I am certainly one of those girls. When I heard Sarah stand up and speak at the GOP convention, I too stood up and YELLED “I want to vote for her!”

God Bless you, Sarah. You go, girl! You are not alone! Newsweak has run aground over you!

I’ll vote for Sarah Palin in the next election. Any woman that hunts moose is definitely someone that has my vote. The clock on her 15 minutes of fame hasn’t even started yet.
Foxnews is the one that runs doctored pictures of liberals. MSNBC caught them in the act and they said “Foxnews is making them look uglier than they really are” unquote.

I’d say that Newsqueak, putting the hot Saracuda on their cover, is their attempt to cure their ED (Erudite Dysfunction). They’re using the smokin’ hot Mrs Palin to stiffen up their limp and turgid circulation numbers. Sarah on the cover will sell copies solely on the basis of masturbatory material for the metrosexuals, lesbians and switch hitters that overpopulate The Left. I’m surprised they don’t have a centerfold in this issue. Wanna bet Rosie O’Donnell, Anderson Cooper and Olbermann have a copy in in their underwear drawer? Wonder what Obama has for reading material in the Oval Office bathroom.

They hate and fear her but they’ll use her physical attractiveness to sell their Limperal rag.

You can’t shame a Liberal – just not possible. How can you shame a group that has no honor, lives by no code, has not a clue about matters bigger than themselves and whose only and perpetual concern is that of personal convenience? (Obviously a rhetorical question.)

Judith “Cheers to Sarah, I still have my bumper sticker on my car.”

Ha! My car just got totalled. I asked the garage guy for a can of WD-40, and salvaged my McCain / Palin bumpersticker, and YEAH it’s going on my next car.

    That’s right! Ha!
NEWSWEEK is using Palin to sell their magazine, and too cheap to get their own cover and ’cause she’d probably say, “NEWSWEEK who?” so they are recycling the RUNNER’S WORLD photo of her for their article which came out months ago.

NEWSWEEK has marching orders to tear down Palin but they’re so lazy they are using cut and paste, and as Mark Steyn noted, probably needed 20 “reporters” to committee the thing together.
So, the minions can’t really be counted on anymore to do the job! Few people read RUNNER’s WORLD, but Palin will be cute cute cute at the supermarket check-out. Free publicity for her! Woo-hoo! Ha! Ha!

NEWSWEEK is SOOOO old old Media.
Anyone see the latest SOUTH PARK? “Dances with Smurfs.” BRILLIANT! BRILLIANT!
SOUTH PARK has their have their own website so you can watch the WHOLE episode there. MUST SEE! MUST SEE!
HOW HOW do they get this stuff out so fast??

P.S. for SOUTH PARK newbies … hold on, and watch the entire episode for “Dances with Smurfs”. Ya have NO IDEA where’s it headed until the finale, then the whole thing comes together brilliantly.

As much as I hate to disagree with newsweek (them bein’ the smart kids ‘n’ all /sarc/), while Sarah Palin may, indeed be bad news for everyone else (on the left) – she is by NO means bad news for the Republicans [except, of course, RINOs] or Conservatives.

One of the reasons the leftists hate Palin so much is, no matter how they try to tear her down, she just keeps coming back at them, stronger than before. And it’s makin’em crazy!

did they have a 15 year old write that?

it’s actually laughable. I understand that the so called MSM elite believe we are lacking in brain power…. but holy cow… do they really believe we are THAT dense?

I am a conservative, but I must point out that this is a reprehensible display of using the flag as a prop and leaning on it. Be honest, if someone you didn’t like did this, you’d all be having fits. Don’t get suckered into double standards.

Better question: How do you solve a problem like NooSqueak?

Simple answer: Don’t bother even looking at – let alone buying or even reading it – and cover it up wherever you happen to come across it with something else, so no one else has to see it, either.

It no longer contains any actual “news”, anyway – just lefty/Demonrat propaganda and Obamaworshipping lies.

Is anyone else worried about Palin’s safety with the liberal media stirring up hatred for her just before she goes off on a nationwide book tour? I think Newsweek is encouraging violence against her from the title of their cover.

They (the liberal news media) can’t make this stuff up about her. This Tuesday, just buy her book and read it. The truth will come out from Sarah. Go Sarah!

    The New York Times, Newsweek,
    Time, Washington Post, et cetera
    Review Sarah Palin’s New Book:

    Just go ahead and nominate
    That Sarah Palin, who we hate;
And don’t mind us, for heaven’s sake,
Just help yourselves, it’s your mistake.

No, don’t mind us if we repeat
She will be easy to defeat,
Just go ahead, if go you must,
    And nominate a total bust.

    No really, nominate that tart,
    Who isn’t pretty, isn’t smart,
And doesn’t have a law degree,
    She’s DOA, we all agree.

Fine, you wanna lose, then choose her,
Help yourselves, and choose a loser,
Serves you right, what are you, blind?
    But we don’t give a rat’s behind.

    We’re just impartial judges here,
So please, let’s make things crystal clear:
If you bastards choose that loser,
We will slander and abuse her.

I just watched the Roundtable on ABC and every one of those eleitest egghead jerks discounted her ( with the exception of the black liberal woman I cant name offhand) She just said barely concealing her contempt that you cant discount her. What pisses me off is that They say nobody can take her seriously and she is a JOKE. They are the joke..Obama is a bumbling fool who was a community organizer with ACORN that caused the financial ruin of our country with mortgage crisis, He wrote two Biographies and got elected to the senate with the help and money of chicago style thug politics and George soros money. Sara has done what she has done on her own basically. Obama cant stumble his way through a speech without using a teleprompter. Kind of a metaphor for his whole career HES A PROP. He has made some many dumbass mistakes that if it were PALIN the media would have literally shot their wads every night on tv trying to bury her but they ignore. They are so numerous its embarrassing yet media IGNORE him. He lied on so many campaign promises I call him the liar in chief. Hes a total clusterf*ck at foreign policy. He ignores and berates or friends and cuddles with our enimies. These media pukes have no credibility whatsoever. She may or may not run for Pres and if she does great if not so be it. But she is ands was much more qualified to run for /be President than Dumbo ever was. I would trust her much more she has morals and a common sense President Pantywaist never will. I seriously would not trust this jerkoff to watch my dog much less my country. Just look at his own words and actions and results on the campaign trail, in office and in life! The man is a scumbag and has no class, brains or balls. What he has is an ego the size of Chicago and a bunch of liberal morons who were suckered in and once they are shown what he is doing or has done they cant believe it or buy it. Change is all we will have left in our pocket! 2010 will wake these elitest slobs up.

Sure. On par in reprehensibility as Bill Ayers filthing it up with garbage and dirt and then standing on it.
