After they ruin the economy Democrats have a plan to keep their power…
And they outlined it today.
Democrats will give citizenship to the 10-30 million illegal aliens residing within the US borders.
Perfect.
The Examiner reported:

Though it would seem unlikely that our President would introduce a controversial immigration reform strategy on the cusp of a healthcare decision in the Senate, he did indeed do that today.

DHS Secretary Napolitano introduced a broad outline for reform during a speech to the Center for America Progress this morning. In it she cited the many advances DHS has made in securing the US Border with Mexico. One of the centerpieces of this effort is the screening of 100% of southbound rail shipments for weapons and cash. While that sounds like a good thing for Mexico the logical question is this: What percent of northbound rail shipments are “screened” and what does “screening mean? Not to sound cynical but this Administration does not have a good record when it comes to spin and telling the absolute truth. The President demonstrated that clearly last week with Healthcare Reform.

The plan calls for a path to citizenship for the 11 million illegal aliens already in the US. On this the administration also seems a bit out of touch. That the vast majority of Mexican illegal invaders according to a recent Zogby Poll have no interest in becoming American Citizens and regardless would hold primary allegiance to Mexico is apparently lost on the President and Secretary Napolitano.

No wonder Pelosi and the democrats don’t seem worried that their radical anti-capitalist agenda will sway voters in the 2010 election.

Next Year, Bozo plans on giving citizenship to Mexico and Saudi Arabia and Iran. First he will give them nuclear weapons as bargaining chips.

OK, it is apparent where I live that not only do the illegals not want to be citizens, they want their own country within our country.
So, knowing how in touch this administration is with the little people, it’s going to take a hell of a long time for them to figure out that they don’t want citizenship.
The Dems really need to just register them to vote, they really do already have everything else. It should be far cheaper than Pelosicare and they could be honest about it.

This is why the Obama administration is unconcerned about the Democrats losing seats in Congress in 2010. With 20-30 million new, beholden citizens to vote for them, they can stay in power forever. And they don’t even have to rely on Acorn.

    We’d better get serious, people.

Thats ok just give them free housing, free medical, and a voter ID card that should keep the Dems happy.

…AND, with outstanding Senators like John McCain supporting their cause….Well, you get the idea. It’s another “pass one for Teddy” piece of fecal material legislation. Too much has changed since the last go-round, though. I doubt many folks will be interested in giving free everything to 20 million (or however many) MORE nice folks from South of the Rio Grand. They’re robbing us blind, as it is.

Jo, #1 comment, best first comment today.

I wanna see that done in a sketch comedy routine.

A buncha appeasing, grovelling dems giving the Iranian delegate, ambassador, whatever, an ACTUAL NUKE.

Democrats: “Yeah, your worshipfulness, we even set it to target the entire US Eastern Seaboard. You like it? We made it just for you! It’s even got a this handy remote, see?” Then explaining (like you do when you give a gift) exactly how to use the remote. “See, you have to turn this key, and then open this little door here, then flip this toggle. Pretty cool, huh? So whaddaya say, can we be friends now? Do you like us now? Huh?”

I’m glad I don’t have an all-powerful magical Moonbat-Eraser button on my desk. One that would cause every single moonbat to just up and keel over. Because some days? I don’t think I would hesitate to jump up and down on that button, press it a few extra times just to be sure. Fighting the 8th-century barbarians would be a cakewalk with no moonbats in the frikkin way.

I am married to a UK citizen. It took almost a year just to get a visa “application” approved before even getting the actual visa. Now that she is here and we are married, its taken another 6 months (and counting) just to wait for her employment authorization – not to mention the pending change in status (green card) which could take as long as 2 years. She is highly educated with a masters degree and has been volunteering, just to remain productive since she cannot work for pay. On top of all this waiting, its cost us over $10k just to get to *this* point and still have a long way to go.

We endured the costs and wait just to remain legal with better appreciation of those who went before us. However, if this administration gives a path for illegals to become citizens, I can damn well guarantee that those of us who followed the daunting, costly and LEGAL path have every reason to be cataclysmically pissed beyond belief.

No wonder Pelosi and the democrats don’t seem worried that their radical anti-capitalist agenda will sway voters in the 2010 election.

The last amnesty bill had a “path to citizenship” that would take 13 years for illegals to become citizens. Does anybody here seriously believe that the Democrats will craft and pass legislation that will provide citizenship to 11 million illegals by the 2010 elections? The plan is to start working on it next year, so that means they have to provide citizenship in less than a year.

Let’s say the Dems ram through an emergency bill that will grant citizenship to all illegals in time for the 2010 elections. This is a logistical impossibility. The people who couldn’t run Cash for Clunkers and who couldn’t win the governorship of New Jersey will be utterly incapable of legalizing 11 million people in less than a year. It will never happen.

Okay, now let’s look at the numbers: Let’s take a worst-case scenario and say that there are 30 million illegals in the country. How many of them are of voting age? How many of them have criminal records and therefore wouldn’t be able to vote even if given citizenship? How many would bother to vote?

Even if the Democrats manage to make every illegal alien a citizen in time for the 2010 elections–which is absolutely impossible–there still won’t be enough liberal voters to keep the Democrats in power. All we need is 51 percent in fewer than 100 elections, and the balance of power shifts back to the GOP.

The reason the Democrats are behaving as though they’re not worried is because they’re not worried. And they’re not worried because they’re utterly delusional, arrogant, and out of touch. What you see is what you get. Obama is the best they have to offer.

Two months after becoming a US Senator, Obama authored Immigrations bill.

Bill makes US Atty General and Department of Homeland Security not only jump through hoops for the illegals to gain citizen status but also funds armies of attorneys to assist the illegal immigrants.

Bill also orders DHS to give “grants to not for profits” (ACORN???) to assist illegals.

I was angry this was not reported during the Presidential election. Obama wrote it and it is very telling of how he wanted to use tax payers $$$ to buy votes. Think S.795 would have cost him some votes?

I watched a Lou Dobbs video (and have lost the link) the other day, in which he talked about a new “border security” bill being introduced that has NOTHING to do with border security and everything to do with “immigration reform” and amnesty. Basically, it gives any illegal who applies for it citizenship within 24 hours after they apply. Whether the background check has been performed or not.
It even gives gang members with criminal records citizenship as long as they declare that “they don’t want to be gang members any longer”.

It sounds as though the announced amnesty program is just the public consumption fodder – and this other bill is the end run to do the actual dirty deed.

I’m seriously starting to wonder if the administration plans are not to try to push the American people one or two steps too far; and incite some sort of “revolution”, or at least some sort of action which would justify a government clamp-down.
A lot of what is being done is a bit much to put down to arrogance, ineptitude, or political naivete’.

Here’s a Free Republic link referencing the video:

    http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2322355/posts

Although it’s not really made clear, the bill would grant legal status, not citizenship. That means that within 24 hours of completing the paperwork the illegals would be allowed to stay here legally and work or begin the process of applying for citizenship. But they wouldn’t be granted citizenship within 24 hours.

The last amnesty bill laid out a 13-year path to citizenship, and the electorate rejected it overwhelmingly. Just imagine what would happen if the Dems tried to shorten that process dramatically. Holy cow!

I’m dead certain that not even Obama will be able to grant citizenship to 11-30 million illegals before the 2010 elections. Congress can’t run General Motors, but it’s going to grant citizenship to millions and then register them to vote, all in less than a year? It’s literally impossible. And if they managed to pull it off, that would mean an actual revolution. At the very minimum the entire country would stop paying its taxes, and so many lawsuits would be filed that the government would grind to a halt.

What’s happening is that the Democrats are still in a 2008 mindset, like the dummy who posts here under the name “GOP DOA 08″ or whatever it is. They’re still celebrating their fabulous victory, like Obama did in his video message to Germany: “I won! Isn’t that incredible? I’m a historic figure!”

He and his party think that we’ve given them permission to remake the country, when in reality the electorate supported him because he ran as a pragmatic moderate. Did you see that Gallup poll yesterday, that there’s been a 44-point swing in the number of people who think the government should provide health care? And I mean 44 points over to the “HELL NO!” position. Unprecedented and devastating to the Democrats.

The Dems are on another planet, and they’re going to pay dearly for it.

Do you really think the 2010 election is going to be close? Especially after the decision to try Khalid Sheik Mohammed in New York? How about some real immigration reform.

Yes it would involve granting citizenship to all who would take an oath of loyalty but at a price, well a couple of prices.

Price ‘A’ would be in order to grant citizenship, the constitution would have to be amended to make English the official national language and only language used in government transactions. Also, any non-English roadsigns would have to be taken down.

Part B of the price would be an actual border frontier. A steel-reinforced concrete fortification stretching across the entire US-Mexico land border, a modern day Great Wall of China. Being some 20 feet tall, extending 30 feet underground and being 10 feet thick combined with creating ‘boxes’ where roads cross the border so that if a vehicle or group of vehicles breach the first wall, they would be trapped by the second.

Now something like this would cost billions if not tens of billions and require tens of thousands of construction workers…..sounds like some new jobs!! And lets not forget the jobs from the increased demand in cement, cinderblocks, steel and the transportation of those goods….sounds like something that would be in the Stimulus….wait, this would actually work so never mind.

The 2010 elections are too late for this country. We’ve got to stop these actions now.

This is what people keep saying, but since there’s no way to “stop” Congress, I don’t know what you think is going to happen. All we can do is voice our opposition. There’s no law to stop Congress; there’s no judge or magic bullet or prayer. The reality is that if Congress chooses to ignore us, most of Obama’s agenda will become law.

The only option is to wait for the 2010 elections. You may think it’ll be too late then, but we have no other choice. We need to come to grips with the fact that there’s no way to stop Congress if it doesn’t listen to us. Thinking otherwise will only lead to terrible disappointment. We’re up Crap Creek now, and we need to stop hoping that something will save us.

On the bright side, 2010 isn’t too late. All laws can be repealed. Most of the country already opposes Obama’s agenda, even knowing full well that he wants to hand out freebies to us. Most of the country already rejects those freebies. If Obama’s agenda becomes law, opposition will increase, not decrease.

If we elect the right people in 2010, we have every chance of reversing this. But there’s a very good chance that Obama will get almost everything he wants. We need to prepare ourselves for that.

i say a 5 million at least march on DC..

How’s that going to convince Congress to not pass Obama’s agenda? The Democrats already know that the majority of the country–several tens of millions of voters–opposes them. What good will a march of five million do if Congress is already aware that more than ten times that number doesn’t support Obama’s agenda?

The point is that if Congress decides to ignore us, no amount of marching, calling, or writing will stop it. The only thing left is to elect the right people in 2010.

I asked what a march of five million would do when Congress already knows that more than ten times that many oppose Obama’s agenda, and you can’t answer me, can you? That’s because there is no answer. Marching will do no good whatsoever if Congress has already decided to ignore us. If that’s the case, the only recourse is to wait for the 2010 elections.

Odd that you find this so objectionable.

Join the club, we’ve been trying to get his proof of eligibility and college records for a very long time. With the complicit Congress, Judicial system and media’s help, we’ve failed. See Obama is different from everyone else, Congress, the Judicial system and media have told him so. Do they actually expect him to be accountable for anything now, after they’ve pretty much ignored everything wrong he has done in the past.

They’ve treated him, just like Hassan was treated, ignore everything he does for pc reasons, and innocent people will pay the price. The group mentioned above are very much responsible for the deaths at Fort Hood, and future deaths.

“How many of them are of voting age? How many of them have criminal records and therefore wouldn’t be able to vote even if given citizenship? How many would bother to vote?”

I hate to break it to you but there have been illegals voting in many elections in the U.S. for years.

There was a large amount that voted for Obama.

There will be even more in the elections to come because there still is no verification or ratification of voters identities in many states.

And of course as long as Obama’s community service organizations such as ACORN and it’s affiliates are loose upon the land, the democrats have little chance of losing any elections.

    Papa Ray
P.S. that 12 million number might have been valid seven years ago, most believe the number now is between 20 and 25 million.

I think the Congress members need to feel a little healthy fear of the common voter, and five, ten, fifteen or more million could let them know that the People are not going to stand for what is going on in America. It is looking that some people are willing to accept anything Congress passes because they can; well, America belongs to the People and not Congress, and Congress needs to have this made nice and clear to them. They should all demand Obama to open his records and provide proof of his eligibility to the Courts, or not another tax dollar will be drawn to put into the Government’s pockets. It is time to play hard ball.
