UPDATE: Here is the latest unemployment graph that shows what Barack Obama promised the American people if his Stimulus Package was passed and the actual results of his disastrous economic policies:
Thanks Barack. Unemployment spiked to 10.2% in October.
AFP reported:
The US unemployment rate shot up to 10.2 percent in October as another 190,000 jobs were shed, the government said Friday in a report showing narrowing job losses.
Barack Obama and the democratic Congress have nearly doubled the US umemployment rate in less than one year. Do you suppose the state-run media would have mentioned this if Bush were in office?
Obama also managed to triple the deficit this year too.
How’s that for hope and change?
Rep. Mike Pence and the House Republican Conference released a statement on this news:
“The American people want to know why Congress is forcing through the Pelosi plan for a government takeover of health care instead of a plan that will help create jobs.”

Unpossible. I have it on good authority (CNN,MSNBC, etc) that the Bush years had the WORST ECONOMY in 30 Years.
I don’t hear anything like that now. All I hear from the media is how the gov’t has saved or created jobs…..
They couldn’t have been …..lying, could they?

Obama and Congress don’t give a damn about jobs or the economy, except insofar as they provide an excuse to ram more tyrannical s**t down all our throats.
What a wonderful government we have — cause problems, let them fester until they become crises, then use the crises as excuses to cause yet more problems.
We have GOT to get RID of this bunch.

Matt Helm used the right word – insane.
When Obama ran for President, he kept focusing on jobs, introducing “shovel-ready” to the lexicon. I think that had a lot of merit. Unemployment was rising so the government was paying more in unemployment benefits and getting less in income taxes. Pretty obvious stuff, that.
THEN, he has Pelosi draft a stimulus bill. Epic failure. She used the bill to fund every fecking pork project she can find with little focus on jobs. So now we’re at 10.2% unemployment (when we include people who no longer draw benefits or who have given up, we’re probably getting toward 20%). When the President signed Porkulus I, he said something along the lines of “any bill of this magnitude will have its flaws”.
First, how many $787 billion bills does a president sign? Second, he knew the bill was a POS and signed it anyway. Now, we’re seeing just how much of a disaster this is. The deficit has spiked, as has unemployment.
3 more years of this. Ugh.

That is easy, Mike. The Democrats are elitists grapping at power, and do not give a rat’s rump about what the peasants want. They know what is good for us whether we do or not.

It is fast approaching time when “wait until we vote them out!” is no longer a viable option.
We have a duty and an obligation to stop those who are destroying our republic, in fact we are duty bound to take action. When all civil/political action fails then there is but one option left.
It is our right and duty to prosecute such action should it become necessary, and I submit to you that it is very, very close to such time being upon us.

When all civil/political action fails then there is but one option left.
………………..
Hold your horses. We haven’t come close as yet to have only one option left. Rule of Law holds this country together. Busting it is practically irrevokable, a last resort only.
Let the people work with the tools they have been given, elections, recalls, etc. Americans are only now just starting to explore these established mechanisms for the first time; they haven’t had to before. If they don’t work, THEN comes the time to re-assess all options – a long long long way down the road.
It’s not right to encourage people that our system doesn’t work when that assertation hasn’t been proven to be true. We are being tested, but the panicked make messes, those who keep their heads persevere.

There are so many things that the ObaMAO admn. could do to alleviate unemployment:
Cancel the stimulus. It’s not working and never will.
Announce that the Bush tax cuts will remain permanent, with more tax reductions and accordant spending cuts to follow.
Suspend all capital gains tax levies for 6 months.
Scrap Cap & Trade and Healthcare. Vow to reassess at a later date when the economy improves, and then chuck them both.
Examine the trillions earmarked for UN dues and foreign aid, especially to enemy Muslim countries who hate us nevertheless. Charity begins at home.
Institute a US Jobs Program cornerstoned on drilling AT HOME for oil, coal, and natural gas.
Obama will not do anythingto improve this economy, in fact, he’ll do the opposite: Weak people are easier to control.

As far as unemployment, business have NO IDEA as to what the Democrats will come up with in taxes and regulations, so no business owner or start-up or corporate CEO can make any decisions as to how to spend, invest for the coming six months, one year, five years. Expansion, start-ups are all on hold. That means no new jobs. With more people out of work, consumer spending is plummeting, goods and services demands are less, so profits are down, a vicious cycle.
And more budget draining monstrosities promised.
It’s either the triumph of Marxism with iron-fisted powerlords over the sefs or the real possibility of unintentional political hari-kiri of the entire Democrat Party, a total self-inflicted annihilation as the nation collectively vomits them out of political existence.
Could go either way, but the Democrats don’t see that at all.

People HAVE been trying to work with the tools they have, and they have been locked out of bargaining tables, left out of drafting legislation, the people have assembled for a redress of grievances and been ignored- you don’t just sit by and watch them destroy the country and say “I’ll use the tools I have, even though they have never worked in the past”- that’s the sheep they want us to be.
Their radical action demands a radical reaction- it’s all they understand, they will not respond to the usual therapy, this they have already proven time and time again.

Connecting the dots among the President, his ideologic foot soldiers and the growing institutional chaos that’s now part of our daily grind, Jim Simpson, in today’s American Thinker writes:
” One of 2 things must be true: either the Democrats are unfathomable idiots who ignorantly pursue ever more destructive policies… OR they understand the consequences of their actions and relentlessly carry on anyway because somehow they benefit… I submit to you they understand the consequences…. for many, it’s simply a matter of eliciting votes from a targeted constituency at taxpayer expense. We lose a little, they gain a lot. BUT for others, the goal’s more malevolent.. the failure is deliberate. Don’t laugh. This method NOT only has its proponents, it has a name: The Cloward- Piven Strategy… the strategy of forcing change through the orchestrated crisis… it seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.”
An undeniable resonance exists between Jim’s insights into Cloward- Piven, its strategies, goals, tactics, etc. and the reality that’s unfolding before us.. American Thinker: “Barack Obama: The Strategy of Manufactured Crisis.”

The writing is on the wall, folks.
It’s time to unite and clog the very streets of power with our bodies and refuse to leave until our bidding is done. This Republic is OURS. We must demonstrate who the owners of this nation are as the peaceful way to engage and retain our power before we come to the last resort. When we do this, the government will tip their hand as to whether or not they will use violence against us.
If this bill passes, we must ALL go to Washington and remove them from the city permanently.
November 6th, 2009 | 12:15 pm | #37
Agreed. Pelosi and Co. do not own us and they do not own this country. We are not their serfs. This country is not created by them but us. We live free in a free republic alone.

I say the time is almost here. How long do we wait? until unemployment hits 20%?? Until Obama declares himself president for life? Until literally millions are homeless? Soup lines? What?
To echo wanumba, now is not the time to panic–we’re a long, long way from a Lexington-Concord moment here–a long, long way. Many of those conditions you mentioned were present during the Great Depression, the Depression of 1893, the Panic of 1873, the Panic of 1837, shall I go on? Only in 1929, the unemployment rate was about 25%, in 1893, it was over 30%. You had many homeless living in Hoovervilles in the Great Depression and you had soup lines as well and we made it through with our institutions intact.
Obama is on his way to becoming a one-term wonder–stop thinking of him as being some sort of unstoppable bogeyman and start thinking of him as what he is–Eric von Zipper, the head of the Rats. He can be beaten and he is being thwarted–otherwise we would have had Obama/Pelosi-care and cap and tax way back in August/September–but we don’t. We are having an impact–just look at New Jersey and Virginia, and as for Dist. 23, NY, Hoffman, a third party candidate, came within a hair’s breadth of defeating Owens–a message has most definitely been sent–one that the more prudent individuals in the GOP have received loud and clear.
Keep making your voices heard, stay abreast of the news, and most important, stay active and vote–and not just in national elections–but also pay attention to state and local elections. Put conservatives on city and county commissions, as mayors, city councilmen and aldermen, everywhere–that’s how we stop Bambi, Queen Nancy, and Contessa Boxer–we exercise the rights we have been given under the constitution and thwart them at the ballot box and in the arena of ideas.
November 6th, 2009 | 2:14 pm | #40
Clarification–our rights were not given by the Constitution or any other document–they’re natural inalienable rights–sorry about that. What the Constitution does with the Bill of Rights is states them for the record–that’s all–but that’s enough.

To counter the “blame Obama” theme, see below:
Published online by Irwin M. Stelzer on 12/19/2008 in the Weekly Standard (hardly a liberal apologist):
‘Bush knows that Obama is inheriting a very difficult economic situation indeed. So does the president-elect. Economists with whom I have spoken–and these are the people listened to at the highest levels in both parties and at Ben Bernanke’s Federal Reserve Board–believe that the unemployment rate, now at 6.7 percent, will hit double digits sometime in 2009, and stay there well into 2010. They expect house prices to drop another 15 percent and share prices at least another 10 percent before finding a bottom.Worse still, they are predicting an extraordinarily sluggish recovery. Since unemployment is what economists call a lagging indicator–job creation doesn’t start until a recovery is well under way–the unemployment rate might remain high well into 2011.’
But of course we all know that reality has a left-wing bias.
November 7th, 2009 | 1:08 pm | #45
Of course, borrowing a trillion dollars for nothing…make that less than nothing, isn’t making the situation worse, right?
Or trying to enact more and more taxes like cap and trade or this:
The return of the inflation tax
Buried in the Pelosi Healthcare bill is a very dangerous tax feature: repeal of indexing of progressive tax rates for inflation.
The Pelosi tax surcharge applies to capital gains and dividends.
Given the risk of hyperinflation due to the reckless printing of money to fund Obama’s record deficits, a huge and unexpected tax increase faces Americans who will suddenly fuind themselves called “rich” even as their incomes buy less and less.
http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2009/11/the_return_of_the_inflation_ta.html
I guess that’s just a right-wing bias!
