The US unemployment spiked from 7.6% to 10.2% this year under Obama… the highest rate in 26 years.

Chart from the Bureau of Labor Statistics- via Sweetness and Light
Obama promised his stimulus plan would create 3.7 million new jobs.
Instead America has lost 3.6 million jobs.

House Republicans wrote a letter to the White House this week asking them to quit repeating their lies about the number of “saved or created” jobs produced by their disastrous poliicies.
CNS News reported, via Free Republic:

House Republicans asked the Obama administration to stop touting the number of jobs “saved or created” by the $787 billion economic stimulus law, citing widespread reports that the data are inaccurate. They requested a response from the administration before the Dec. 3 White House “Jobs Summit.”

“The inaccuracy of the job creation and retention claims posted on the Administration’s website, www.recovery.gov, has not prevented administration officials from touting this misleading and inaccurate number as evidence that the president’s stimulus spending package is succeeding even as the unemployment rate continues to rise,” House Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio and Rep. Darrell Issa of California, the ranking Republican on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, wrote in a letter to Vice President Joe Biden, who is charged with overseeing the stimulus plan.

The economic stimulus bill, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, was signed into law on Feb. 17, 2009.

Related… The democratic Congress and the President have erected the biggest overhang of economic policy uncertainty that anyone can remember.

Does anyone really think that Biden and Obama really care? Of course they don’t. This same “creative accounting” runs rampant in Congress and the White House; it’s just how they do “stuff” in D.C.

Biden will get the call to reply (as only Joe Biden can, “because nobody messes with Joe”) and he’ll say: “With a program as huge as this, we anticipated there would be some minor problems in reporting. In fact, we’ve taken immediate steps to correct the errors referred to and see no need for any alarm at this time”. In other words – Get Bent, Boehner.

The administration will blow this off just exactly the way the fraud in the white house refers to ACORN – a minor “distraction”.
