The imam who was the leader of the mosque that Nidal Malik Hasan attended said he was a quiet man who came to service daily.
Malik slaughtered 12 US soldiers yesterday at Fort Hood.

An imam who was the former leader of a Maryland mosque Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan attended said he was stunned when he heard about Thursday’s shootings.
Faizul Khan of Silver Spring knew Hasan for 10 years and described him as a reserved and polite person with a great sense of humor. The two lost touch when Hasan left Maryland about a year ago, Khan said.
He said Hasan visited the mosque nearly every day to pray and that they often spoke about religious matters.
Hasan was active in the Muslim community and he even registered in a matrimonial service the mosque provides to search for a wife, Khan said.
Khan said he was shocked and dismayed to find the person suspected in the incident was his old friend.
“I keep asking what could have made him do something like that? I was stunned and very surprised,” he said.
Khan said he wanted people to understand Islam condemns the killing of innocent people.

I read the lead article from todays NY Times.

This even his cousin clearly stated the Hasan is muslim.
We all know that those with “no religious preference” always attend the mosque almost daily for prayers and walk around convenience stores in prayer robes.

You have to parse these phrases to know what *they* mean by innocent. Innocent to us is a completely different thing. A little baby in a bassinet in Bliss, Idaho is an aggressor to Nidal Hasan and his merry bunch of worshippers. This is going to happen again and again until the psychic pain is so intolerable that, like with people waking up to health care, they just say no more.
That Hasan was conducting Army da’wa in the middle of providing mental health counseling at Bethesda apparently didn’t tip off the Army to a potential problem.
See, that’s how I’m different from the Army. That would have tipped me off right away.

Whenever you see a Muslim “authority” make the remark that Islam doesn’t allow the “murder” of “innocents” you have to stop and understand exactly how Muslims understand and use words.
Only Allah judges who is and is not innocent. People wonder how Muslims can target and kill civilians, including children. The victims of a Muslim attack are not the attackers problem. Allah will sort out who is who, and Allah decides who is a worthy Muslim, and who is not. Killing in defense of Islam is not murder.
Muslims consider all Israeli’s valid targets because all Israeli’s are conscripted. Therefore even blowing up a school bus is allowed.
There is no way that any Muslim would possibly consider American soldiers “innocent”. With the World Trade Center, even those who they would consider “innocent” (like the kitchen workers at Windows on the World, and even that’s debatable) would be shown mercy by Allah.
Beslan should have woken up the world about how Muslims think and use words to justify what they do. But it didn’t, and if that didn’t nothing will.

Just like folks above are pointing out, whenever a Muslims says he’s against the killing of innocents, he is specifically saying he is against the killing of Muslims. Infidels, BY DEFINITION, are not and can never be considered ‘innocent’ because we have refused to accept Allah and refuse to convert to Islam.

I grew up and spent a majority of my life in MI, in the Detroit area and was there on 9/11.
My values and my very core does not allow me to think the worst of people, and my very core feels a little sorry for the obvious Muslims living around the corner from me now. Jihad is a “‘religious’ matter”; jihad which sheds the blood of non-Muslims is the highest form of jihad because it guarantees paradise and all its benefits. Therefore, to my mind, the imam is an accomplice to Hasan’s slaughter.
We should not have living in our midst a people who believes that it is okay to kill those who don’t believe as they do. There are only two kinds of Muslims – practicing Muslims and non-Muslims….out of the mouth of an Immam himself. Muslims do not assimilate, they infiltrate. Islam allows all Muslims to lie to non-Muslims. Sure there will be practicing Muslims who might prefer to not kill, but people should ask themselves when Muslims try to take over America or any other non-Muslim country for that matter, who will be your Master? Muslims do not have to kill anyone without knowing fully the plan for world domination in the name of Allah, and all practicing Muslims will support any and all takeovers.
If you do not know your enemy, or political correctness does not allow you to put preparations into effect to protect yourself from the enemy you do know, then you’ll be doomed. People do not have to see Muslims as all potential killers of non-Muslims, but knowing you cannot determine which ones are or will become killers of non-Muslims and knowing Muslims are expected to lie in order to infiltrate within non-Muslims countries without raising alarm bells, then you, yourself can take the precautions to protect yourselves and loved ones.

The problem comes from a) Islam’s extremely slippery definition of the term “innocent” which basically seems to be left up to the eye of the beholder (real responsible and all) and b) Islam’s religious sanction of violence under certain, again vaguely and inconsistently defined, conditions. These conditions are further defined by the example of a prophet who would abandon peaceful means when he exhausted his peaceful options and still hadn’t gotten his way yet.
My theory after years of thought on the subject is that the problem is Islam’s obsessive habit of dividing every category imaginable into the equivalents of good and evil and, even worse, then failing to definitively define those categories and who or what belongs in them.
Christianity (and for all you Christian haters out there, I do not mean Christian people or Christian history, but the religion as it is in black and white) does not allow for this obsessive bifurcation. All enemies are to be loved. Jesus was violent towards noone. In his book, evil is to be overcome with love only. Christians daily fall short of that standard. Sometimes we have to go to war as the result of not doing enough to avoid it in the first place. But the difference is that we have that one, simple, clear, perfectly consistent and unwavering standard to treat everyone alike.
A Christian may fail to live up to our faith, but we can never ever look to our Savior and see an example of him exploding in a rage when he was not properly respected or did not get his way. Muslims can. It is the fatal flaw of their religion that it depends on a Muslim being naturally a peaceful and sane person in order to practice it peacefully and sanely. For all those who are not peaceful or sane or for those people who feel that there back is up against the wall, it is way way to easy to “go Mohammed” and strike back against the “evil oppressors.”
This is in a nutshell is why it is more common for Muslims to go off and start killing in the name of their religion. It is why the more devout one is, the more likely it is that one will lash out when in crisis or when frustrated.
In contrast, look to the example of how black people dealt with segregation, Jim Crow and the like. How many Christian black soldiers using Christ as their example for dealing with problems, massacred their fellow soldiers due to feeling disrespected? On the other hand how many times did Mohammed, the Muslims perfect exemplar in all things, attack for the same reason?

I have just sent emails to my Rep. and Senators demanding an immediate Congressional investigation into why the FBI did NOT follow up on the tips they got about Hasan and his dangerous views and behavior more than SIX MONTHS AGO. Had the FBI launched an investigation of him in a timely way, thirteen Americans might not have lost their lives yesterday.
I urge everyone reading this to contact their Rep. and Senators TODAY and urge them to call publicly for an immediate CONGRESSIONAL investigation into the FBI’s failure to investigate Hasan.

It is impossible to reform Islam. The problem with Islam is its founder, Mohammed. Dr. Zuhdi Jasser speaks passionately about reforming his faith, but he begs the question: “Why are you a Muslim?”

It’s common now to see Arizonians walking around with pistols on their belts. Arizonians are now allowed to open carry into bars, provide they do no drink alcohol when carrying.
It’s pathetic our volunteer soldiers, after basic training with all the firearms training, are barred from open carry pistols. A sidearm is not ostentatious and soldiers and police in America are on-record, stated targets of jihad for assymetrical attacks, ie: loner jihadists. The police are armed, if we train our soldiers and trust them to be responsible overseas, how come they are not trusted domestically?
