The Blog Prof and Below the Beltway nail it after House democrats passed the crown jewel of socialism last night.

So this is how liberty dies…

…To thunderous applause.

Dr. Helen says now is the time to fight on.

More… Pelosicare price controls will bankrupt health insurers in one year.

I rather suspect the House of Lords was cheering when jolly King George applied the Stamp Act to his rowdy colonials, too. DDSS – and almost certainly to have a very similar response . . . although tarring & feathering is perhaps a lost art these days.

And what was the outcome? What is Mussolini’s legacy?

This is not the moment to throw up our hands and say “all is lost.” Now is the time to apply even more pressure and be more vocal in our opposition.

Liberty will not die without taking a few of its enemies down with it. This ain’t over. Even if the Senate passes it, it ain’t over. We shall see just how long this government will stand against the consent of the people.

The Star Wars clip was originally intended as a slam against Bush/Cheney and the war on terror. That was back when the Left was sure that it was all just an excuse to take away our freedom in the name of security (as in the clip). The truth, as always, is that it’s the “Progressives” of the Left that really want to take away our freedom. It’s useful to remember that the Party in Orwell’s 1984 had its origins not in the Right or in conservative belief, but in socialism. Welcome to INGSOC, everybody.

Only buy food and necessities, like beer.

If you own E Bonds, cash them in.

If you have taxes withheld at work go to HR and have the max exemptions added.

Where you can don’t pay any taxes.

If you have any money in a FDIC-insured bank earning 0.2% take it out, and buy ammo.

    Obama In The Hoodie

I’m not sure thuggish is the right word for Obama. Were he truly of the hood, he’d have cruised along for a while on his smarts until his smugness got his ass kicked repeatedly. He’s a wannabe thug, if anything. It is amazing that the media gloss the MSM opted to use in portraying him was able to conceal precisely how low-rent he really is. Call it mixed-White Trash. Maybe that’s the best phrase?

Yet Obama, the President of the free world (!) did just that – using the dismissive homosexual slang to describe those that don’t want unconstitutional socialism.

This is not about health. This is not about the elderly. This is not about doctors or greedy insurance companies.

    This is about one thing.

    Power.

The federal government has the right to regulate that which it finances. If health care becomes the responsibility of the government, then they will have a say in every area of our lives that can be construed as relevant to health or to lowering health care costs.

There will not be more care. There will be less. The terminally ill, for whom we are supposedly doing this thing in the first place, will be rationed right out of the system. Abortion will be promoted as a cheaper alternative to giving birth. The entire food industry will fall under draconion control. And the individual will be at the mercy of Washington to determine what kids of care they must or must not receive.

Our congress can’t even put together a coherent piece of legislation. What makes us think they can do any better at playing doctor?

They may very well succeed in enacting this monstrosity. But this victory will be the downfall of the Democratic Party.

Barack Obama has spent more than two months considering a troop increase but do we know how he really feels about the Afghan war? Photo: GETTY During the election campaign, Barack Obama’s cool detachment was a winning quality, the “No Drama Obama” a welcome contrast with the “Mr Angry” John McCain, never mind the hot-headed “I’m the decider” President George W Bush.

A year into his presidency, however, Mr Obama seems a curiously bloodless president. If he experiences passion, he seldom shows it. It is often anyone’s guess as to whether an event or issue truly moves him.

Obama’s first anniversary – but little to celebrate
The Republican gangs of New York He has spent more than two months considering a troop increase but do we know how he really feels about the Afghan war?

In a sign that the Obama honeymoon truly is over, I began to hear this week the first stirrings of a wistfulness about Mr Bush. “I never thought I’d hear myself say it,” one Democrat told me. “But Obama makes you feel that at least with Bush you knew where he was on something.”

When Mr Bush’s Republicans were defeated in the 2006 mid-term elections, it was the President himself who stepped up and declared that his party had received “a thumpin’”. The Democratic defeats on Tuesday were not on anything like the same scale but Mr Obama acted as if nothing at all had happened.

Mr Obama had campaigned for Jon Corzine, New Jersey’s Democratic governor, five times, twice just last Sunday. But when Mr Corzine lost by four points in a state Mr Obama won by 15 last year – a 19-point swing to Republicans – White House aides just shrugged.

In Virginia, which Mr Obama won by six points last year, prompting Democrats to declare an historic political realignment in the state, the Democratic candidate went down by 17 points in the biggest landslide since 1961 – a 23-point swing to the Grand Old Party.

It took Senator Mark Warner of Virginia to admit that his party “got walloped”. For three days, Mr Obama maintained a studied silence about the results while his aides blamed them on local factors that had nothing to do with the President. And to think that it was Mr Bush who was always accused of being “in denial”.

More serious perhaps was Mr Obama’s strange disconnectedness over the Fort Hood massacre of 13 soldiers by an Army major and devout Muslim who opposed the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, had praised suicide bombing and shouted “Allahu Akbar” as he opened fire.

Maybe Mr Obama had been reading the American press, much of which somehow contrived to present the atrocity as a result of combat stress due to soldiers going on repeated war deployments (though Major Nadal Hasan had not been on any) and therefore, no doubt, Mr Bush’s fault.

When the television networks cut to the President, viewers listened to him spend more than two surreal minutes talking to a gathering of Native Americans about their “extraordinary” and “extremely productive” conference, pausing to give a cheery “shout out” to a man named Dr Joe Medicine Crow. Only then did he briefly and mechanically address what had happened in Texas.

On Friday, when most of the basic facts were available, Mr Obama tried again. It was scarcely any better. He began by offering “an update on the tragedy that took place” – as if it was an earthquake and not a terrorist attack from an enemy within – and ended with a promise for more “updates in the coming days and weeks”.

Completely missing was the eloquence that Mr Obama employs when talking about himself. Absent too was any sense that the President empathised with the families and comrades of those murdered.

It was a reminder that for the past 16 years Americans have had two Presidents who would often extemporise and express emotion. President Bill Clinton could certainly “feel your pain” while Mr Bush sometimes struggled to hold back tears. Mr Obama is more like President George Bush Snr, who famously communicated his concern for people by blurting out: “Message – I care.”

The White House argues that Mr Obama was not on the ballot last week and there is therefore no need to fret. The problem with this complacency is that voters were angry about the state of the economy, which Mr Obama can’t keep blaming on his predecessor. With unemployment now above 10 per cent, Mr Obama needs to show Americans that he can relate to what they’re going through, and take responsibility.

It could do him good to show he has a bit of fire in his belly. Perhaps he might make a decision or two based on gut instinct and deep conviction. In

The whole health insurance/prices issue is totally the fault and conivence of the government in the first place!

Government mandates coupled with outrageous monetary rewards at medical trials have cause virtually all the non-inflation rise in medical care. The additional cost burden is a result of doctors being forced by their medical insurance (or the hospital admin.) to give any and all sorts of really not necessary testing to “cover the bases”. All of this is cause by government interfearance in the first case and not doing their job in the second.

Now they’re going to take it all over. And it’s going to be so-o-o-o-o much cheaper and better. Right?

    What could possibly go wrong?

When do revolutions occur? When the people feel they have no other option as their voices have been long since silenced by the arrogance and ugliness of the elite.

You would think those of desire to rule all would remember that part of history. But I suppose despotism brings with it a certain blindness. Nothing good will come of this. I hope for the Senate to keep its collective head and the 2010 election not to be riddled with fraud.

I hope for the Senate to keep its collective head and the 2010 election not to be riddled with fraud.

Even if the Senate lets us down, the die is already cast for the 2010 elections. New Jersey ‘09 showed us that the Democrats can’t steal elections if they’re not close–and don’t kid yourself: The unions and ACORN were out in full force in New Jersey. They turned out the black vote at a higher rate than in 2008. And Obama personally campaigned for Corzine six times.

    And the Democrats LOST.

There’s no reason on earth to think that we can’t take back the country and repeal all of Obama’s legislation. The majority of the country opposes Obama’s agenda even before it becomes law. After it becomes law, will that opposition grow or subside? When the high taxes and restricted freedoms hit, will people be happier or more upset?

There simply aren’t enough liberals in America to keep the Democrats in power after they pass horrendously unpopular legislation. Wait until people find out what’s in this bill.

Whatever happens, it’s entirely possible for us to beat it back.

    For example:

    Personal Requirements
You’ll be required to buy a ‘qualified’ health plan. A family earning $102K a year will pay $1,700 a month in premium and out-of-pocket expenses. ‘Willful’ failure to buy a plan will result in a fine of up to $250,000 and ‘imprisonment of up to five years’. Election shows blacks remain engaged in political process

[In New Jersey, for example, 14% of all voters were black despite predictions that the number would be as low as 8%. To put this in context, 12% - 14% of the New Jersey vote was black in the 2008 election.

In Virginia, black voter turnout was down to 16% from 20%, which is significantly less than the drop in turnout among other groups. In 2008,
    for example,

    [.]

Voter turnout is a big issue and the fact that it was down overall is a cause for concern, since it means that people aren’t participating in democracy. However, not only is it a positive thing to see black people continuing to take part in shaping their future, but when it comes to the African-American vote, Democrats may have less to worry about than has been previously suggested.]

We can put the magnifying glass down now as far as the Congress is concerned. Stevie Wonder can see what’s really going on here. I hope you all saw on Hannity’s show last week that no bill or topic can be voted on or even discussed unless there is a certain percentage of the opposing party present. He showed a clip of Demons running out the back door to avoid voting on a certain bill the Republicans wanted & the demons totally ducked it. So now we know none of these stimulus bills and specifically this healthcare bill should have ever been a factor let alone voted on yesterday. ALL OUR REPRESENTATIVES HAD TO DO WAS IGNORE IT, THAT’S ALL! We have to call ALL our Senators and let them know, IF YOU SHOW UP, YOU’RE GONE!” We’re the majority & we’ve made our views about this bill perfectly clear, WE DON’T WANT ANY PART OF IT, PERIOD! We just found out about this stipulation but our reps have known it all along. There’s absolutely no excuse for what happened yesterday. Again I say, ALL congressmen & women have to go.

AP Big question mark: Fate of health care in Senate

    AP – 59 mins ago

“WASHINGTON – The glow from a health care triumph faded quickly for President Barack Obama on Sunday as Democrats realized the bill they fought so hard to pass in the House has nowhere to go in the Senate”

Did anyone else catch this suckerpunch:

“In spite of the growing opposition by the American people, US Senate Democrats rammed an unprecedented climate bill (S. 1733) through a Senate committee on Thursday.

California Senator Barbara Boxer, who chairs the powerful Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, had postponed the bill’s vote for several days due to her need to address Republican members’ protests. The major disagreement is the cost of the bill and its impact on the US economy.

However, Senator Boxer decided to take advantage of the Fort Hood incident and the continuing health care debate to quietly pass the bill, according to one Washington insider. It also helped her to have the name of the bill changed from “Cap-and-Trade,” since that term has caused widespread criticism by a majority of Americans”

National Republican strategists had better get their game nailed down tight for 2010.

Karl Rove and Ralph Reed need to work together to the build the most talented and effective political team in history to flip the House and Senate in 2010.

Ralph Reed is one of best ground-game organizers in the business with his GOTV skills.

Karl Rove is one of the best numbers guys in the business.

These two need to work TOGETHER if they are serious about restoring Liberty to America.

Let us not thrash around separately and fail. Let us pull together.

Make a choice: Liberty or Tyranny.

We have one year. We have too many patriots and too much conservative republican talent in America to let Liberty die.

If there was ever a call for our conservative leaders to come together to save freedom…it is now. Don’t go quietly into the night. We will not.

To all of the billionaires out there that love freedom. Now is the time to bring your ship into port and fight for freedom. Please help support the best conservative canidates in 2010.

To all of the union members that are afraid of what is happening to our freedoms, and are being peer-pressured into voting for these democrats….for heaven sake…vote for your Country this time in 2010 and 2012. Vote conservative Republican this time.

John Adam rode on horseback, in a freezing New England Winter of 1776, to make it to the Continental Congress. He put aside his earning and paycheck for a time, and left his wife and children at their modest farmhouse in Massachusetts, to save America, so that his children and grandchildren would have FREEDOM.

We will save FREEDOM by sacrificing our fortunes, and donating our time and money. Yes, your vote CAN save liberty and freedom in America. Remember, alot of Americans died on foreign lands to preserve that freedom.

They are watching…let us do the right thing…let us begin.

To all of the minorities out there. You are conservatives too. We know you don’t believe in these failed democrat policies.

Conservatives Republicans are NOT racists. We welcome ALL people, no matter what race. The liberties and freedoms that conservative republicans are fighting for will benefit ALL people. Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, and Native Americans. Everyone.

John Adams, and his better half, Abigail Adams…did NOT believe in slavery. They both believed, as early as the birth of our nation, that slavery was WRONG, and their writings show this. They wanted ALL people to be free and to have liberty. The founding fathers that believed in slavery were flat out wrong. We all today know it is, and was wrong. Now let’s ALL stand together today for Liberty.

John and Abigail Adams wanted to move past slavery and be post-racial, and so does everyone in America. What the democrats are doing will put ALL of America under the Tyranny of the government.

If you want loans for small businesses, if you don’t want the government telling you how to live your life, if you want the American dream again…please join with other conservatives to vote Republicans in 2010 and 2012.

So this is how liberty dies…with thunderous applause « The Bader Nation

Thanks for the uplifting comments of some on Gateway Pundit regarding the fraudulent healthcare legislation. Our family does not plan to roll over and “play dead” for Nazi Pelosi or any other ruthless Democrat who seek nothing but power over the citizens of America. While we have limited finances, we plan to search and fund every candidate possible who is campaigning against Democrat Representatives. Each one of us can send small donations, which will add up and should be helpful for a Conservative candidate. We are sure Soros and his cunning cohorts have millions to “buy” the 2010 election but we must try and not roll over and let them win. Fight…we must or lose…we will.
