This is weird.
The NAACP and La Raza slammed Obama today over his historic unemployment rates.
And, The New York Times reported the story.
Weird.

With unemployment among blacks at more than 15 percent, the N.A.A.C.P. will join several other groups on Tuesday to call on President Obama to do more to create jobs.

The organizations — including the A.F.L.-C.I.O. and the National Council of La Raza, a Hispanic advocacy group— will make clear that they believe the president’s $787 billion stimulus program has not gone far enough to fight unemployment.

They will call for increased spending for schools and roads, billions of dollars in fiscal relief to state and local governments to forestall more layoffs and a direct government jobs program, “especially in distressed communities facing severe unemployment.”

In speaking out on jobs, N.A.A.C.P. leaders say they are not trying to pick a fight with the first African-American president. Rather, they say, they are pressing Mr. Obama in an area where they believe he wants to be pressured.

“It’s time for us to really stoke this issue up,” said Hilary O. Shelton, the N.A.A.C.P.’s senior vice president for advocacy and policy. “We’re not so much trying to convince him to do something he doesn’t want to do, but urging him to move forward on an issue we have agreement on.”

But it’s OK.
The White House will just make up a few more phantom districts and then everything will be fine.

“Your stimulus has made things worse! Do even more of it!”

Productive people do watch these ridiculous moves, and adjust accordingly. Further ’stimulus’ will directly hurt private sector jobs even more than it already has. Not that I think they care in the least.

Don’t they understand that Obama WILL help them with the remaining 86% of the stimulus that hasn’t been spent (yet) but they just have to wait until the election year of 2010 and the months of July/August/September so they will keep voting for democrats.

Just wait and for 3 months next year, La Raza and the NAACP will be the favorite charity groups of this administration.

Yeah, that’s the ticket. Build more roads and schools. Roads are a bandaid for employment and do nothing to grow the workforce or economy. Heck, as more fuel efficient cars hit the road, fewer highway taxes are collected. I would bet that highway traffic has been reduced due to rising unemployment. Rush hour where I live is nothing like it used to be. Last time I checked, school districts don’t have enough money now to pay the teachers they have now so we’ll just build more schools and pay for more teachers from what pot of money?

Dan, you have it right. Most of the ones complaining believe the answer lies with more government spending which will just make the situation worse. Unless the private sector is somehow stimulated, the unemployment problem will not go away.

Until they understand why more spending on things like school and roads will not magically bring around high-level jobs (especially if the only thing we learn in school is how “special” we are), what can be done?

…And every single member of the NAACP, and La Raza will still vote for THE ONE in 2012.

They are just worried that THE ONE’S obvious failure in this aspect will keep him from being re-elected.

Remember…don’t trust Rahm and Obama’s deceitfullness…they are still holding onto alot of the stimulus money…..Hmmmm

What if….Obama did tack hard right next…just to help democrats and HIMSELF get re-elected….and take a big chunk of stimulus money and give it to small business…and minority owned businesses….and do all kinds of vote-buying-gimmicks after the first of the new year???

News flash to Obama: The American people are NOT going to fall for it. As the old song goes….Do what you like…you know that you can.

Maybe when Obama gets back from China he can go the the La Raza headquarters and bow.

An AMERICAN President would be genuinely concerned about AMERICANS and their employment. Obama? not so much.

“They will call for increased spending for schools and roads, billions of dollars in fiscal relief to state and local governments to forestall more layoffs and a direct government jobs program, “especially in distressed communities facing severe unemployment.”

Hahahahahaha! They can call all they want for increased spending in the world for schools, roads, fiscal relief and government jobs. THERE IS NO MORE MONEY!

You can’t squeeze blood from a turnip. Take THAT to the bank. There are no funds and no jobs.

Go ahead and make your demands. Good luck. The middle class isn’t so middle anymore. The rich aren’t so rich. No more money means no more entitlements.

Guess you better come up with a different plan. Seems to me you need to take care of the middle class if you want them to take care of you. Look to your Obama stash for your desires. You all thought he had all the answers, didn’t you? Where in the world do you think all this money will come from??

This is not weird. The “protest” is more like sock puppeting policy for the White House. “The stimulus is not enough, paper over huge state and municipal defecits! Pay for our roads (because local governments have been stealing the money for years)! Obama turn on the spigot, for ‘jobs’…”

And not a suprise either minorities have a bent toward government jobs and they do not want to see them go away. Not weird at all.

Isn’t it clear that Obumble’s godfather, George Soros, is pulling his strings and the strings of all the major players in the White House and at the Fed?
The Soros Doctrine reads like Rham Emmanuel’s “orchestrated crisis” playbook.. the shock doctrine by which countries are brought to their knees:collapse their financial system via more spending, bogus stimulus, more proposed stimulus spending, more debt, more deficit, more big government entitlements to addict the shepple, a weakened dollar, manipulation of banking systems, relentless unemployment and more..
Soros calls to arms “western economic elites to abandon the old east-west paradigms and move more aggressively toward a global economic model which offers global capitalists lower costs of production and vast new markets that could be linked through supply chain strategies.”..
the Soros Doctrine’s in full implementation mode with Obama and the liberal elite advancing their ravenous self- interests on the world stage and at home, while Americans twist in the wind .

What is this? Are they still carrying the water for this POS? Is this the excuse he will use to force through Stimulus #2 that the dems have been talking about? It sounds as if the NAACP and La Raza are becoming disillusioned with Obama but looks can be deceiving. These two groups will never turn on him. His is black and naturally the NAACP will always support jim for that reason. La Raza expect him to force through immigration reform and legalize all the illegal aliens illegally in this country. And he will for their votes.
