(CNN)
US ally Taiwan became the latest victim of Barack Obama’s foreign policy.
Chinese communist President Hu Jintao praised Obama’s recognition of mainland China’s sovereignty over the democratic Taiwan.
Reuters reported:
Chinese President Hu Jintao hailed U.S. President Barack Obama’s recognition of sovereignty issues dear to China, after a bilateral meeting in Beijing on Tuesday.
“China approves of President Obama’s repeated reiteration of the one-China principle,” Hu told reporters.
Hu referred to China’s “sovereignty over Taiwan and other matters” during a state visit in which some Western analysts had predicted that China would also demand an explicit declaration by Washington of China’s sovereignty over the restive frontier regions of Tibet and Xinjiang.
Washington switched diplomatic recognition from Taipei, capital of self-ruled Taiwan, to Beijing in 1979 but remains the island’s main arms supplier.
Obama did not meet Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, when he was in Washington in early October. But the Dalai Lama has said they may meet after Obama returns from China, which condemns the Buddhist monk as a separatist for demanding Tibetan self-determination.

No surprise there. You gotta hand it to the Chinese though. They know weakness and corruptability when they see it. Let’s see how long it is before Obama pulls back our carrier fleets from the Pacific.

Don’t forget, he sold out the citizens of Chicago first. He did that with the help of his pals in the real estate business, people like Tony Rezko and Valarie Jarrett – they were both involved in sub-standard subsidized housing in Obama’s IL. Senate district that featured collapsed roofs within years of their heavily subsidized construction. Remember that the next time that they drag Ms. Jarrett out for any reason, she got rich by ripping off the American taxpayer and the poor that she and her current boss claim to be helping.

The mainstream media is culpable for foisting this embarassment on the citizenry.
The democratic party are accessories.
The voting public is also guilty of a discernable lack of due diligence.
I believe that people that have gone through the process of achieving American citizenship have a better understanding of our government and local civics than most that are American born… If these folks that tried so hard to live here were polled I believe that the results would be so counter to the currrent administrations direction that it would be shocking.

Come on now! Did you actually expect anything different from obama? There was never any question that he’d sell Taiwan to the communists.
We all knew (or should have known) that he would sell out Taiwan. The only question was how long it would take him to do it. Now we know.
And when he refused to meet with the Dalai Lama, that was a sure sign that Tibet was swirling around the drain.
I wonder if the next *real* president that we get (in 2012) will be able to mend all the fences and repair all the bridges around the world that this buffoon has destroyed (or tried to destroy).

A couple years ago, our son attended a high school defense global security seminar in DC. High schoolers flew in from all around the country to participate. The highlight was a pretty complex gaming situation, political, military, geopolitical – multiple crises of diplomacy, negotiations, nuclear threats, terrorist and suitcase nukes. Students had to set up a government administration amongst themselves and deal with the incoming problems, role-playing press conferences, military, diplomatic huddles, ambassadors running back and forth, the Works.
Girls hopped up fast to organize to win the voting for president position, fast to want to take charge, then absolutely dithered and waffled and got mad at the guys. There were a couple of competing teams. Half-way thru, guys and other girls began appearing from the other team, wanting to defect.
The “press secretary” looking for sanctuary, told the surprised group, “This press secretary is NOT going to sell out TAIWAN! I QUIT!”
The group exclaimed, “They SOLD OUT TAIWAN???!!!”
Yep. The girls traded Taiwan for a Chinese PROMISE to not use the nukes floating around Africa, to the disgust of 3/4 of their own team and the other entire team 2.
Pretty much Democrat girls against GOP guys, and the girls sold out Taiwan, against the protests of the team. The ONLY good thing about it was to see the vast majority of the high schoolers were totally APPALLLED, meaning they are paying attention, they honor allies and loyalties, and really understood the importance of Taiwan. Hope!
But the girls were sell-out tyrants, insecure in their positions, rushing to take charge without any background, and unwilling to take the counsel of their ‘advisors”. Their way or the high way.
Life imitating gaming. Gads. We expect a phone call tonight from irate son – as soon as he is free to vent his spleen when he hears this news.

Cargosquid, there’s a BIG difference between the Japanese and Red China. You can’t even remotely compare them. But apparently you’re another of those who see everything “Asian” as the same, eh?
Japan is a democracy with more freedom of speech and liberty than most EU countries these days.
China is, well, yet another socialist dictatorship with a gigantic death toll.
As for the topic at hand. Who’s really surprised? I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Obama would want Mao’s power.
Someone remind him that his daughters, if he was Chinese, would have been aborted, or left to die in a state-run orphanage in the infamous dying rooms. And the youngest of them would have been murdered even shortly before birth, thanks to the one-child policy (which isn’t working anyway.)

My son went to Taiwan of all places, and he said they love Americans there, and he meant love them to death…..now I’m thinking not so much. Obama is making enemies out of all of America’s allies. Pretty soon the countries who Obama is sucking up to who will always hate America and all the countries that stood with America through thick and thin will hate her, so who does that leave to love America, when Obama, the POTUS, even hates her. For those who think that America is going to be loved in this world, she has another thing coming.

It is no surprise at all. I was expecting that he would sell out Taiwan, especially after what he did to Poland and the Czech Republic, as well as his stance on Honduras and the fact that he refused to speak out over the slaughter in Iran.

Great to hear from our good friends from the outback.
Inspring when we speak as one for the voice of freedom from tyranny.
How soon will obama try to implement forced abortions and one-child policy with the healthcare and cap and trade. As any bully he goes after countries that are less likely to have the capacity to strike back
