When the Obama White House is not “saving or creating” fantasy jobs here at home they’re “saving or creating” manufacturing jobs in China.

The Obama Stimulus Plan will help pay for a $1.5 billion wind farm in Texas. The project will mean thousands of new jobs for wind turbine manufacturers… in China.
The Dallas News reported:
Two weeks ago, U.S. Renewable Energy Group, led by Dallas investor Cappy McGarr, announced plans to build a $1.5 billion wind energy farm in West Texas. About a third of the money would come from federal stimulus funds. All of the wind turbines (and much of the remaining investment capital) would come from China.
“We believe that this project will greatly contribute to job creation, the goals of the Obama administration and our desire to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and increase our energy independence,” McGarr said in announcing the deal.
There would be perhaps 330 jobs created in Texas. Most would be temporary construction jobs. Meanwhile, thousands of Chinese workers in the northeastern industrial city Shenyang would build the labor-intensive turbines.
Most of the wind energy projects seeking money under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act rely on foreign-made turbines. Even the industry we have here at home, led by GE, is looking abroad. GE’s technology will power the gearboxes of the turbines for the U.S. Renewable Energy Group. The gearboxes will be made in China.
U.S. companies emerging from the financial shocks of the last year haven’t started investing in American factory jobs. Richard Fisher, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, told an Austin audience last week that the company CEOs he speaks with are more interested in investing abroad.
That doesn’t fit with the administration’s plans. To fix the big economic imbalances of the U.S. economy, administration economists say, Americans must save more, import less and sell more U.S. goods to the world. This is particularly important in the U.S. relationship with China, which is America’s biggest creditor.
Democrats, with union support, included a “Buy America” provision in the stimulus bill. This hasn’t proved to be an obstacle to moving ahead with wind projects that rely on foreign-made turbines.
When the wind is right, the U.S. Renewable project would generate more than 600 megawatts of electricity, or enough for 180,000 homes. Texas has long recognized such energy projects as a public good and provides incentives to support them.
Only 30 of the 330 jobs created in Texas will be fulltime jobs after the project is complete.

Green energy has failed in Texas. T. Boone Pickens was working toward building a wind farm, but pulled out after spending over $2 billion of his own money. Now he has something like 150 wind turbines in storage.
The reason green energy failed is that it is energy based on the weather. If the wind stops blowing, electricity stops pumping. People don’t like that.

About the only thing that the Obama-Democrat stimulus bill “created” was lots of made-up job statistics.
This is failure on a COLOSSAL scale.

Czar Van Jones never would define what a greeen job is. On Climate Progress, if anyone asks what a green job is, Joe romm will delete their post. Green jobs must be secret mafia like jobs because no one seems to have such a job. Green jobs if they exist are very expensive and very short term.

All of us here that grocery shop create and save more jobs then all the stimulus money could ever create or save. Buy a can of vegetables and realize how many jobs were created in the processing, manufacturing, sales and transportation industries. The fools in DC at “The Ministry Of Truth” think they can BS us with “Feel Good” statistics that are founded in wild dreams need to realize we are on to them.

And any work right now is such a bad thing?
Even a temporary construction job to build the towers is better than no job at all. There must be a new windfarm being built in Corpus Christi right now – those wind tower parts are travelling up & down the TX highway system almost daily.
Not all of those jobs will be newly created. Some of them are existing positions that will get more work, and thus more paycheck.
And if you have lived in Texas, you’d quickly realize it’s almost ALWAYS windy here. If you don’t like the weather, give it a few hours – it’ll change.

“Any job right now” would be a good thing. Too bad the Obama-Democrat “stimulus” has killed off millions of them, while creating at most hundreds.
You do the math, Jennifer. Any way you cut it, the Obama-Democrat “stimulus” is a colossal failure on a mind-boggling scale.

From KPHO (Phoenix):
“PHOENIX — About $34 million was spent in Arizona’s 86th Congressional District, according to Recovery.gov.
The Web site also said more than $900,000 was spent in the state’s Ninth District.
There’s just one problem. Those districts and 12 others listed on the Web site do not exist.
Edward Pound, director of communications for the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board, which tracks stimulus spending, blamed human error.
“I think what it says is that when confronted with a box asking what congressional district, some people don’t know and they just throw in a number,” said Pound.
He said recipients of stimulus awards fill out a form. The form is then posted online without being fact checked by the government.
He said the government is keeping tracking of who receives the awards in other ways, including the agencies doling out the cash.
He said many mistakes should be fixed when the government rolls out an updated stimulus spending report in January.
Arizona has eight U.S. congressional districts.
The $34 million is being spent in First District by the Navajo Housing Authority. “

It looks like ACORN and OBAMA are counting new jobs or saved jobs. Now lets see Mr Brooks who is the joke here ? This is just more proof that this is the most deceiptful, incompetent, dishonest, ignorant and arrogant administration we have ever seen. They think they can do anything they damned well please, They think nobody will challenge them, They think we wont see through them. They think that just because the MSM gets tingles up their leg they think we all will. They are clueless as to how the economy works, how the peole will react and clueles as to how we will come back and kick them in the teeth….thats the best place to also get the MSM’s balls ! They won alright…but they will pay dearly in 2010

I have “Done the Math.” I have a few close friends that NEED the work. I don’t care where the jobs come from, or who is “responsible” for them. What I won’t do is gripe & complain when a few are created. A few hundred are better than none at all.
Yes the Stimulus Taxing plans STINK. Yes they’re going to run me dry. But any extra work right now, even for folks that have jobs but will get more contracts & thus more paycheck, is a good thing.
I love Capitalism. I really do… but I also love hearing my friends say “I’m going to work today.”

NO way can we compete with foreigners earning 50 cents per hr. Business leaders, politicians, globalists, and Unions have all contributed to our job losses.
Social engineering societies, by the elites of this world, has not worked and will not work!
Unions even want illegal aliens, just for more monthly dues. Strong arming business owners with their thuggish ways…they do not work for their members, they work for more dues!
Politicians get perks, and continue FREE trade and not FAIR trade…now they know we cannot compete and will not speak the truth….which is, we have to trade our way of life, to a style more like Mexico’s!
Tell your kids, the days of our land of opportunity are over, and they will be working for peanuts in the future!

Then either your math or your heart are WAY out of whack, Jennifer.
Here’s why: Let’s estimate that 1 million people have LOST their jobs because of the stimulus. The reason the stimulus cost them their jobs is that the federal government had to borrow massive amounts of money to pay for the stimulus, and this massive government borrowing eliminated thousands of smaller loans that otherwise would have gone to small businesses to start up, stay in business, or expand. Let’s call these million newly-unemployed people, “Strangers.”
Then let’s estimate that the stimulus has actually only CREATED about 30,000 jobs. Let’s call these newly-employed people, “Friends.”
First, doing the math, we see that the net number of jobs created by the stimulus is:
30,000 – 1,000,000 = -970,000.
I.e., the stimulus has caused a NET LOSS of 970,000 jobs.
Second, since YOU think that all jobs created by the stimulus are “a good thing,” Jennifer, one of the following MUST be true:
Either:
1. You did your math wrong; e.g., maybe you forgot to subtract the 1,000,000 jobs lost by from the 30,000 created; or maybe when you subtracted the 1,000,000 jobs lost from the 30,000 jobs created, you somehow wrongly came up with a positive number. Either way, this would constitute your “math error.”
OR
2. You did the math right, but you just don’t care about the 1,000,000 people who lost their jobs, because those people are “Strangers;” whereas the 30,000 people who got new jobs are your “Friends.” This would be your “heart error,” because it means you care more about your 30,000 “Friends” than you do about 1,000,000 “Strangers.”
So which is it, Jennifer? Did you commit the “math error,” or the “heart error”?

Where I work, folks that were laid off were picked by performance, or the lack thereof. And, no, we’re not “Small Business” – we’re HUGE corporate poisoning Chemical manufacturing. (GO Plastic!)
We didn’t force anyone to retire, a few chose to. We did send home a good dozen that weren’t meeting the job requirement. To the best of my knowledge, ALL have found new jobs, and are happy with them.
I think I’ve said it twice now – I’m happy ANYBODY is getting work. I feel bad for those that have nothing, but I won’t gripe & moan about ANY created positions.
