Someone needs to direct this question to Secretary Gates. Is the military being instructed to read captured combatants their rights? It could easily be asked of deployed and returning members of the military as well–if you want an actual answer to the question.

On another note this also shows just how stupid the jihadis are and how little they understand the civilized world. KSM has been given a chance to muck up the works of our judicial system in ways that Ginsberg and her ilk can only dream of. There is no way to get a conviction where every rule of evidence gathering and every civil right protection has been violated. War and law enforcement are not the same thing and it would be a poor lawyer indeed who could not get this case thrown out.
KSM would also miss a huge opportunity to reveal our sources and methods and drive a wedge between us and our allies. The damage that can be done is limited only by the imagination and when it comes to law the leftists have very fertile imaginations indeed.
Instead he wants to rant about his insane belief that all women should wear sacks over their head and how we should all be forced to make pilgrimages to see a rock. Yeah, that will work.

By allowing a civil trial in NYC for these terrorist’s and giving them a platform to espouse their belief’s to the world, SOBama will do more to advance radical Islam than if he revealed his deception and admitted he’s still a Muslim.

I’m wondering if Obama is using this to perhaps move forward with prosecuting Bush and Cheney. Funny thing is, if Obama prosecutes Bush and Cheney he will be opening himself up to prosecution because of all of the negligent mistakes (Afghanistan, anybody?) he has made.

As I’ve said before, one has only to look at the number of kia terrorists vs captured before our troops were told that they had to advise them of their rights (and the scotus ruled that terrs have the right of habeus corpus) compared to the number kia vs captured now.
The scoutus (and potus) seem to have overlooked the “Law of Unintended Consequences”.
