The leader of Planned Parenthood in College Station, Texas left her post after watching the ultrasound of an abortion procedure. Abby Johnson told reporters that Planned Parenthood changed it’s business model from one that pushed prevention, to one that focused on abortion.
She recently joined the Pro-Life organization in her community.
KBTX reported, via Free Republic:
Planned Parenthood has been a part of Abby Johnson’s life for the past eight years; that is until last month, when Abby resigned. Johnson said she realized she wanted to leave, after watching an ultrasound of an abortion procedure.
“I just thought I can’t do this anymore, and it was just like a flash that hit me and I thought that’s it,” said Jonhson.
She handed in her resignation October 6. Johnson worked as the Bryan Planned Parenthood Director for two years.
According to Johnson, the non-profit was struggling under the weight of a tough economy, and changing it’s business model from one that pushed prevention, to one that focused on abortion.
“It seemed like maybe that’s not what a lot of people were believing any more because that’s not where the money was. The money wasn’t in family planning, the money wasn’t in prevention, the money was in abortion and so I had a problem with that,” said Johnson.
Johnson said she was told to bring in more women who wanted abortions, something the Episcopalian church goer recently became convicted about.
“I feel so pure in heart (since leaving). I don’t have this guilt, I don’t have this burden on me anymore that’s how I know this conversion was a spiritual conversion.”
Johnson now supports the Coalition For Life, the pro-life group with a building down the street from Planned Parenthood. Coalition volunteers can regularly be seen praying on the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood. Johnson has been meeting with the coalition’s executive director, Shawn Carney, and has prayed with volunteers outside Planned Parenthood.

I wonder if I can get he local paper to print this in PA? I doubt it, news like this is bad for business. And PP is big business here in Southeastern PA.
Now give me a Republican in a bathroom stall, or another gone missing, on a trip to SA, and we will run with that. Juicy stuff. Not John Edwards though, juicy as that all is; we have too much sympathy for HIS wife.
Currently, our local paper is busy practically convicting a local man running (conservative R) for school board, of crimes against humanity, because he befriended a local group of people who support the troops.
Yes, a breakthrough is made, and a woman finds her soul, but that is not news.

Now THAT is inspiring and hopeful news.
It certainly validates the command to pray for those in authority, even our enemies and oppressors.
“I urge, then, first of all, requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all men; for kings and those in authority” (1 Timothy 2:1).
Someone had the courage and love to reach out to her, perhaps asked to pray together, and she accepted. That prayer let G-d reach her.
May we all become someone who others will be willing to pray with. Or actually: may we all live AS IF we were that kind of person, just be an avenue and G-d will find a way. He doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called. May G-d’s Providence move through all of us.
Finally, that ultra-sound recording must be a powerful video. What would it take to broadcast it on national TV? Although, I don’t think I could bear to watch it myself.

What angers me most about the Feminist and her defense of abortionism is that for the first 42 years of living I learned everything there is to know about sex yet knew nothing about abortionism.

wow, this is amazing news. I have felt for a while that with improved ultrasound, our culture could not continue to deny that life in the womb was real life – not just a collection of cells with the possibility to become life in the future.
I also wondered why, if birth control was so available and fairly reliable – why do we continue to have so many abortions. Isn’t it better to prevent the pregancy in the first place? Now I know its part of the ‘business model’. Scary.

“The picture of the baby on the ultrasound bothered me more than anything else. The staff couldn’t take it. Women who were having abortions were never allowed to see the ultrasound.”
Planned Parenthood is an evil organization. Anyone working with or for them will be without excuse. It will end in weeping and gnashing of teeth!

Am I alone in having a hard time with this story? Just WHAT exactly did Abby think abortion was about that it took her eight years until an ultrasound image of a fetus having it’s life snuffed out for her to understand? She never conceptualized that image in her mental landscape all of those years?

It is a mystery to me how a woman (as well as a man) who was created by God to be kind, loving, and caring can submit to having a living child destroyed for one’s own convenience. A woman can repent and be forgiven for her sin. A baby has no choice. I pray for God’s direction in this fight, and may each of you fighting this injustice be blessed by God. God determines what is right (not woman nor man) and we can’t vote to override what God has said.

“Amazing Grace” was written by John Newton after he realized the evil that was slave trading, something of which he had made his livelihood. If this woman has reached the same live changing moment like John Newton, then she has been blessed by “amazing grace”.
I never understood how a doctor who knows about life from beginning to end can perform abortions. An abortion is a gruesome procedure. How anyone can perform an abortion and then go to sleep is beyond me.

Yes indeed. Great news. I recall Ronald Reagan had a change of heart about abortion although I do not know what precipitated his change. I too, a man, at one time was actually unaware (had not really thought about it?) of what an abortion was and also have had a change of heart, many years ago. I think most have an Emmaus experience and walk with someone or something and know not who or what they are walking with but finally “wake up”. Perhaps this is what the lady experienced? It seems she has moved on out of the darkness of abortionville, PP, never to return! Forgiveness is an important and integral part of Christianity. Pax vobiscum!

Praised be to God!!! Someone, perhaps many, many have been praying and sacrificing for this kind of thing to happen. People wake up, birth control and abortion go hand in hand. They are ugly sisters. God never intended for us to be hating the thought of having kids. “Be fruitful and multiply”, and the blessings will abound as soon as we are following His commandments.
