Rappers chant: “Respect, Vladimir Vladimirovich”
Rad Vlad “Master P” Putin won respect at the Russian Rap Video Awards Show this week.
The former Russian President hung out in the audience at the Russian rap awards show:
From Reuters:
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin shows mild amusement as he appears on a music TV channel show alongside local rappers.
Putin, wearing a not-so hip-hop turtleneck sweater and jacket, went on stage to present awards to participants in “Battle for Respect”, a hip-hop music contest run by Muz TV, a Russian rival to MTV.
Putin’s carefully orchestrated image also includes bare-chested photos on fishing trips in Siberia, appearances with rare animals such as Siberian tigers, leopards and beluga whales and encounters with tough-guy groups like bikers.

At least the russians have a real “he-man” for president. No one doubts his toughness. Some people put a show of being tough, with Putin it’s no show. He doesn’t blame Russia for it’s countries woes, if anything he talks about Russias greatness in every speech. He’s a man of few words, and doesn’t rely on a teleprompter or Robert Gibbs to get his views across. He lets his fist do all the talking for him.

Putin is nothing more than a thug (former head of the KGB) who is the strongman in Russia. He is in many ways a Hitlerite in that his critics are often ‘dissipeared’. He gains his power through fear and distorted patriotism. Think of him as a Chicago style mob boss or ‘enforcer.’
With regard to his foreign policy, your right, and Putin’s right. If you want to be respected by other nations you need to be feared. That reminds me of the ‘good Nazi’ who was in China in the months leading up to WWII in Europe, but already well over a year into the East Asian portion of the war. He would intervene between Chinese women and the Japanese soldiers who were trying to rape them. Seeing the swastika and the rest of his uniform, the Japanese always backed away because they were terrified that if they injured him, the Nazis would declare war. When Americans tried to do the same, they were simply thrown out of the way, because Japan had no fear of any US reprisals. As for the ‘good Nazi’, he ended up going back to Germany to tell Hitler what was going on, only to be rebuffed and told not to ‘say a word’ about it, then in there becoming disillusioned to Nazism.
The moral of the story–you need to be feared to be respected. Reagen was respected because he was feared, even Bush was respected, however Obama is not, he is given praise only because others know he is weak and wish to encourage that weakness.

This man gives me shivers. When he came to power, he told the businessmen in Russia to crank things up. Go ahead and do well. But DARE to step into politics and he will crush them. He is ruthless. And still in power, I notice.

Actually Stephen, that “good Nazi” was John Rabe (pronounced “Yon”).
He was working for Siemens in China and lived in Nanking when the city fell. Rabe first used his party insignia, which he was wearing on his collar (like it was done), but he soon switched to a swastika armband, since it was more visible. He saved the lifes of several Chinese women during the Rape of Nanking. Rabe and the handful of Americans and British established the “safety zone”, eventually housing more than 200,000 people.
He was a civilian, he was never wearing a uniform in Nanking.
The Rape of Nanking, ordered by Prince Asaka, came to an end when General Matsui finally arrived in the city. Note: Matsui was executed for it, Asaka walked away, even though Matsui was innocent (which is even confirmed by Chinese historians.) Asaka simply walked because he was a member of the imperial family. He died of old age and never paid for his crimes.
Rabe went back home to Germany and tried to tell people what was happening in China. He was actually arrested by the GESTAPO once and told to “shut the f*** up, or else”.
The story that the Japanese soldiers would always back away is a myth. Rabe risked his life, despite the swastika. They could have killed him on the spot several times and, according to his own diary, he actually expected to be shot right there several times. That the Japanese outright ignored the Americans and British is also a myth. In her book “The Rape of Nanking” Iris Chang describes a scene where Americans and British rescue a couple of girls from the Japanese military.

Well since there appears to be some ‘convergence’ of opinion that Mr. Putin is ‘similar’ in the capacity for personal appreciation to ‘The One’, I guess it’s fair to ask a question.
Putting aside for a moment if we CAN, the problematic issue of ‘critics of Putin’ tending to have accidents and suffer unresolved murders a lot of the time (just clumsy I suppose), I ‘like’ Putin a LOT more than I ‘like’ Obama.
Sure Putin is grandiose and ostentatious, BUT he actually walks the walk far more than he talks the talk. He DOES the things he is popular for. You can see him flipping Obama across the room as if he were a rag doll. Not maliciously — just because he has zero respect for him. At least with Putin you KNOW he’s going to be pissed if you ‘annoy’ him, and that he’s not really a forgive and forget type of guy. He’s not hiding himself away and there IS a ‘himself’ really there. That ‘IS’ is a big deal.
Can you imagine Putin’s reaction to Obama ‘bowing’ to HIM ?
Now I would pay to see that. Sorry to say that — but I would.
