Senator Barbara Boxer Breaks Senate Committee Rules…
The liberal California senator passed the dem’s cap-&-tax legislation out of committee without a single GOP member in attendance. This is against the rules and the first time it has ever happened.

Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) discussed the outrageous move by the democrats:

The Politico reported:

The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee approved climate change legislation Thursday with no Republicans voting for the bill or even participating in the process.

With Republican boycotting the proceedings, Committee Chairman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) relied on a little used interpretation of committee rules to move the legislation. Traditionally, two minority members are required to conduct committee business.

Boxer said that she passed the bill “in full accordance with long-standing committee and Senate rules.”

“This is not a procedure we wanted; it’s a procedure that’s available to us,” said Boxer. “The majority has to be able to do its work…otherwise the whole Senate could come to a screeching halt.”

Republicans called Boxer’s move the “nuclear option,” warning that it violated decades of committee precedent.

“I am here to appeal to you and the members of the committee,” Sen. Jim Inhofe, the top Republican on the committee, said in a brief statement. “In the history of this committee, we have not been able to find a time when the bill has been marked up without minority.”

But, to Boxer and the democratic majority, rules were meant to be broken– especially when a $3.6 trillion gas tax is on the line.

This will go over well with the electorate. Boxer may as well be in the pay of the GOP. Unbelievably self-destructive thing to do.

This democrat led congress is unbelievable! They are determined to shove their agendas onto the entire country without due process. Civility is gone and truth doesn’t apply to them? The voters will remember this (especially when prices skyrocket).

The Senate should come to a screeching halt and be hanged from the nearest tree for treason. I know that is extreme, but the Constitution DOES provide for this.

High time they stop passing the buck, so to speak, and start prosecuting these fools. They have more than enough on Rangel and yet he’s still ‘employed’ by the people he’s screwed over. The corruption won’t stop until they feel that they could go to jail. It’s pretty obvious that the Left has some scheme that they think they’ll retain control through this four years and the next. So before they lay it on us, we need to beat them to the bunch and start throwing them out or in jail!

What really hurts about this is that the Republicans will not do the same thing the next time they’re in the majority. I really wish they would bring the work of the Senate to an entire halt: not participate in any hearings, put holds on all nominations, keep adding amendments to every bill proposed. Just slow everything to a crawl. But they don’t. Ever. Shame. F

I’ve honestly come to the conclusion that the House and Senate Democratic leadership are certifiably insane–and I don’t mean that in the “liberalism is a mental disorder” sense–I mean that in the sense that they are non compos mentis–not of sound mind. This is sheer madness. If I were Inhofe, or any Senate Republican, there’s no way I would ever work with the Democrats on anything because I could never trust them to keep their word or to follow customary rules.

Foolish, foolish woman…foolish, foolish Democrats. Burning down the house–fools, may they all rot in hell.

    what did we expect??

i mean the King will be signing over US sovereignty to the UN in December (wait for it, believe me, that & ObamaCare are a done deal).. even if he’s not “present” due to his Nobel Peace Prize (in part for Climate Change) “obligations” (choke)..

Make Room, Al Gore: Obama’s Nobel Prize is Also For Climate Change

oh yeah.. Gore expects Obama to attend Dec. climate talks

so do i, but even if he doesn’t “attend”, he will be signing The New World Order goal document one way or another, heh, he already has in so many ways (we’re just haven’t been paying attention).. else the NPP farce be all for naught..

Obama Poised to Cede US Sovereignty in Copenhagen

    a little background:

Soros & Strong are behind the power grab for the
New World Order under the auspices of the UN..

Eco-economic Warfare and the Planned Collapse of Western Civilization

[Maurice Strong is perhaps most widely known as the co-author of the 1994 Earth Charter with the communist and former Russian president Mikhail Gorbachev, who once stated that the threat of environmental crisis will be the "international disaster key that will unlock the New World Order." Strong's rise to prominence as internationalist gofer to the Rothschilds and Rockefellers goes back to 1946, when Strong was just 17 and working as a clerk at the United Nations in New York City. It was here that Strong was befriended and recruited by David Rockefeller. Despite his minimal credentials of only a high school diploma, Strong is moved up the ladder quickly following his introduction to Rockefeller, becoming a millionaire by his mid-20s, during the Alberta oil and gas boom. At the age of 25, Strong became the President of Dome Petroleum in Calgary. By the age of 35, he is the CEO of the Power Corporation of Canada. While at the Power Corporation, Strong hires Paul Martin and James Wolfensohn, both of whom would move up the ladder quickly and go on to hold high positions of power -- Martin as Prime Minister of Canada, and Wolfensohn as President of the World Bank. (Strong would later become an advisor to Wolfensohn at the World Bank.)

At the UN, Strong would go on to become Director of the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), Senior Advisor to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, and Chairman of the Earth Council. He would also become Chairman of the World Resources Institute, Co-Chairman of the Council of the World Economic Forum, and a member of Toyota's International Advisory Board. Strong's most influential role to date, however, has been as the Secretary-General of the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED -- aka the Earth Summit) in Rio de Janeiro. It was this conference that gave birth to the Earth Charter and Agenda 21, which would lay the groundwork for a completely managed global society run and managed under the auspices of the UN, under the guise of saving the environment.

It is people such as Maurice Strong, Mikhail Gorbachev, Al Gore, and Ted Turner that are at the forefront of the UN's environmental/depopulation agenda, at least at the visible/gofer level. The four are also members of, or have close connections to the Club of Rome. It is the Club of Rome that has been guiding the environmental movement since its creation at the Rockefellers' estate in Bellagio, Italy in 1968. It's aim is to reduce a large majority of the global population, as well as manufacture crisis through which the world can be "united" under a one world government, as was admitted in their 1991 publication, titled The First Global Revolution.]

    Agenda 21

The Rio Declaration on Environment and Development

Obama Poised to Cede US Sovereignty in Copenhagen

the nightmare of it all is ringing truer & truer every
day.. hope we wake up before it becomes a reality..

btw.. watching C-Span as i type.. they’re working on changing the Patriot Act.. expect Obama to gain total control over both Congress & the Courts.. yep, that’s coming as well..

Obama’s “Godfather” — The Nature of the Beast

[Nevertheless, that is the direction we are headed. It will be done through treaties and dilution of the 2/3 ratification requirement. At G-20, Obama surrendered our financial sovereignty, at Copenhagen he will agree to pay up to 2% of our GDP for environmental debt and he will attack our middle class with a consumption tax.

At the same time, Soros is pushing for the destruction of the dollar. He claims that China and Brazil will be the “new engine of the world economy”, and the United States will be its “drag/” He wants to remove the dollar as the world reserve currency and substitute an international currency (SDRs) of his design.

Unfortunately, the Soros Agenda does not end with the establishment of world government, and the looting of the middle class. There is a social dimension to it as well. In the broadest sense it is a new manifesto of the old gospel of the radical left, tied to the survival of the planet. The intimate details of this are closely held.

If you are still skeptical that one man could do all this then you are right in this sense. Goldman and others provided financial support for the Obama campaign, General Electric and others provided operational support through their journalistic lackeys at NBC and MSNBC. World bureaucrats like Maurice Strong are also implicated.

But Soros is the Godfather of Obama. No one else had a tried and true turnkey operation for regime change. No one else pursued a ten-step strategy to put Obama in the White House. How else could a man with a hidden past and no real accomplishments rise to the pinnacle of power so quickly? Think about it. But now that Obama has been installed as President it is payback time. Obama is obligated to pursue the Soros Agenda. After all, that is what he is there for. ]

    AL GORE, THE UNITED NATIONS,
AND THE CULT OF GAIA (1999)

[This decidedly unscientific, even bizarre, view of the environment appears to be driving U.S. and U.N. environmental policies, including locking up or restricting development on huge areas of U.S. lands, and making it more expensive to produce or use our natural resources. Science, technology and industrial development are regarded as anathema to the followers of the Gaia philosophy.

    [..]

Though presented to the public as a Southern Baptist, Vice President Albert Gore wrote a book entitled Earth in the Balance, in which he writes sympathetically about Lovelock’s Gaia hypothesis. One chapter is entitled, “Environmentalism of the Spirit.” Sounding like a preacher, Gore says the Gaia concept is able to “evoke a spiritual response in many of those who hear it.” In this context, he adds that “…the simple fact of the living world and our place on it evokes awe, wonder, a sense of mystery a spiritual response when one reflects on its deeper meaning.”]

Barbara Boxer (D-CA) is the same lady who said that none of the tea party protesters were legitimate because they were “too well dressed”.

She’s been a professional legislature in Washington since 1983. What were YOU doing in 1983? Sen Boxer she was 43 in 1983. Yeah, she’s been there a long time and she’s lost complete touch with reality.

Her hubris and sense of elite entitlement are boundless that makes me wonder if she’s afflicted by the same dementia that effects her buddy Joe (Slow Joe) Biden?

However watching her pull (yet another) underhanded move in the Senate is not a surprise. I wonder if she will be surprised when she is voted from office in 2010? With any luck she’s stashed enough purloined funds to keep herself from the poor house.

You’re right, Sally. Americans are slow to anger, so we needed all this horrific legislation to actually pass before people would do anything about it. Simply warning about it didn’t work.

Although it’s enraging to see our elected representatives shooting us the finger this way, the good news is that finally the electorate will be fired up enough to make some big, permanent changes.

I read the other day that opposition to illegal immigration is greater today than it was in 2006, when we defeated amnesty. It appears to have been a sea change, not a temporary whim.

I believe the electorate feels the same way about big government, too. We’ve finally had enough, and we’re gearing up to doing something permanent about it.

They are planning to stay in power, the People be damned. It couldn’t be more obvious and yet….crickets!

That’s simply not true. Obama campaigned for Corzine on six separate occasions. He campaigned for Owens and sent Biden to campaign for him, too. That proves two things:

    1. The Democrats can’t steal elections when they’re not close;

    2. Obama knows the Democrats can lose elections.

The Democrats have nothing up their sleeves. They simply believe their own propaganda, that once they ram all this crud down our necks, we’ll shut up and thank them for it. Democrats are like Humphrey Bogart in The Maltese Falcon:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_wFiDBBR8w

The Democrat motto to the electorate is “When you’re slapped you’ll take it and like it.” It’s as simple as that. No scheme to steal elections, no plan to declare martial law. They’re just egotistical, power-mad thugs who can’t think straight.

If the last election doesn’t disprove the notion that the Democrats and Obama are invincible, then nothing will. The Dems are simply arrogant buffoons who are desperate to seize this opportunity. They’re in childish denial that everything will be all right. They have no secret plan to stay in power. Seriously. If they did, they wouldn’t have let New Jersey get away.

The last election may have mortally wounded Obama. If the Dems could have prevented the loss of New Jersey, they would’ve.

Any news from the Parliamentarian of the Senate?

Have outraged Republicans filed a complaint?

Or, possibly, did Boxer clear this with the Senate Parliamentarian? Perhaps while Senate precedent (which is not legally binding) was broken, no rules were.

Since the Republicans were boycotting the committee meetings, perhaps Boxer asked the Parliamentarian what options were available to her as its Chairman.

And perhaps the Parliamentarian thumbed through the Very Big Book of Senate Rules and determined that in case of obstructive boycotts, the Chairman can proceed without the boycotters.

    Ya think?

Someone made a great point about election in New York’s 23rd District: The Democrats have convinced themselves that the defeat of Hoffman means the country isn’t turning against them. This is excellent, because they won’t change their behavior now.

The Democrats aren’t afraid, and that’s very good news. It ensures their eventual defeat.

And CA throw out Babs? Are you dreaming? Those fruits and nuts love this stuff. All the more because they will get them their freebies from the “rich”.

The Democrats plan to shove these socialist programs down our throats and have all the costs of them pushed onto the energy, oil and gas and health industries so that people will get mad at the companies who send them bills, not at the Democrats who forced the prices to go up.

They may well be making a good bet here if people continue to be asleep at the wheel as this happens. If so they get a double benefit, they get more money to spend on pet liberal programs, and the “evil” corporations get the blame. That’s why all the costs are back-loaded, they are betting that by the time the bill comes due, people will forget who caused this and will only see the bills.

It worked for the mortgage bubble burst, Democrats pushed the policies that caused it, but Republicans and Wall Street got the blame. It helps when the media is halfway up your colon all the time.

It’s as I said earlier–Boxer and Pelosi have gone mad–not crazy as in Michael Savage’s “Liberalism is a Mental Disorder” sense that many of us really most often mean in a semi-joking manner, but insane as in non compos mentos. Unfortunately, there is no parliamentary means by which the Republicans can call for a dissolution of the House and Senate and new elections prior to 2010, so, until and unless their madness reaches the point where it can no longer be denied by even the most ardent of their true believers, we’re going to have to continue to protest and organize and throw them out of office in 2010.

    Three Terms for Barack Obama?

[With President-elect Barack Obama set to take the oath of office to begin his first term, one New York Congressman wants to make it possible for him to one day serve a third. Representative Jose Serrano (D) has introduced a bill in the House to abolish the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution, which limits presidents to two consecutive terms or ten years in office.]

I’m not at all surprised. It happened while I was taking a “day of rest” from all of this Obama-inspired, purposefully-constructed chaos. Since none of this group is trustworthy, it is up to ALL of us to monitor these fools 24/7. No days off – and no sleep either!

I live in California so can attest to the fact that Boxer is nothing but an unthinking, huge waste of air. I spent the past 3 days writing over 100 “pointed” letters to members of Congress – Boxer included (Obama copied in on all letters). As usual, I have yet to get even one response.

I even changed my tactic with these people. I normally believe that everyone should always be polite and show good manners. But, these people have continuously lied about us, lied TO us, and disparaged us. Their inflammatory, false statements about us and ongoing derisive treatment of us is not deserving of our good manners or respect. The treatment is not something one SHOULD respect. Bad treatment begets bad treatment. And that’s the way IT IS.

Now, Boxer’s outrageous act means that we’re getting closer to exposing something that I’ve believed from the beginning: that these people act as though they will never again face their constituents in an election – whether it be in 2010, or ever. This, I believe, is one of the “effects” of what Obama hopes to achieve in Copenhagen on December 7 (approximately) when he will ostensibly sign away U.S. sovereignty as party of the 181-page Climate Change Treaty. Thanks to Obama and his obsessive hatred of America and all that is part of America, all of the chaos we are experiencing now is merely part of the build-up “necessary” to his reaching this ultimate but horrific goal.

Now, it’s up to us to use every means possible to thwart Obama’s outrageous conduct & stop him from securing this goal that will bring harm to each and every one of us.

If there was any “justice” left in this country, I think we could legally argue that we were “misled” by Obama’s false representations. In other words, we did not willingly choose these circumstances and willingly walk into this fire. We are where we are today strictly because Obama misled us. During normal times, this in itself would be enough to render all of Obama’s acts since he took office – VOID. If we were living in normal times, this strategy in itself would return us us to the state we were in “pre”-Obama. Today, however, I don’t think this strategy would work due to the overall “perversion” of justice at work.

The name of that “perversion” is Eric Holder.

We need to do think of a different strategy.

In my view, fascism is by far, the worst.
