On August 6th Kenneth Gladney attended the Russ Carnahan town hall meeting in south St. Louis County. Kenneth was there to make some money selling freedom flags and buttons. After the meeting Kenneth was assaulted, beaten and stomped by angry SEIU thugs who were upset that a black man would be selling anti-Obama merchandise. Gladney was taken to the hospital following the attack.
Ken Gladney is pictured here after his public beating by SEIU thugs. Kenneth Gladney attended this protest against SEIU violence in August in St. Louis. He was beaten, kicked and called racist names by Russ Carnahan’s SEIU supporters after the town hall meeting earlier that week. St. Louis County officials have yet to press charges.
It’s been over 3 months and still St. Louis county officials have not met with Kenneth Gladney to discuss the case nor have they press charges against the SEIU thugs who beat him.
Today after Kenneth set up an appointment with the county officials on Monday to discuss the crime– they blew him off. Kenneth made an appointment with Joyce Kelley to discuss the case. She is not the lawyer assigned to the case. She was supposed to call today, Tuesday. Kenneth waited around, and then called in three times and got no response. They blew him off.
.
Later today Kenneth Gladney talked about how the county is ignoring the crime against him:
Kenneth Gladney was beaten once in the street in a hate crime.
But, it doesn’t matter to county officials.
They have better things to do than protect a black man who was assaulted by SEIU thugs.
*** More… We will be passing around a petition urging St. Louis County officials to press charges against Ken Gladney’s attackers at the St. Louis Holiday Tea Party Protest on November 28th.
*** This was cross posted at Big Government.

[...] St. Louis County officials have refused to meet with Ken Gladney, who was beaten by Purple Shirts for having the temerity to sell Gadsden Flags in front of a townhall where there were Tea Party protesters. So far, no charges have been brought against his assailants, despite the video evidence. [...]

Time for suits — Gladney’s entitled to equal protection under the law, and they’re failing to provide it.

They wouldn’t even keep an appointment? Where is the NAACP???
November 24th, 2009 | 6:46 pm | #6
I tell ya’….they ought to have some sort of association …you know ,that advances the cause of colored people. It should be a national program. If we had one of those then maybe Mr. Gladney might see some sort of justice.
November 24th, 2009 | 6:55 pm | #7
Seven the NAACP don’t care and they never will care. Growing up I always thought they were a force for something good, but I quickly found out they never once cared for us. We slaughter each other in the streets everyday and we never see or hear from the likes of the aforementioned, Sharpton, Jessie Jackson or any other traitorous race baiter until someone of a different color commits that act. Then its “No justice no peace”, “we shall overcome” blah, blah, blah.
We are considered the worst kind of Blacks. The Uncle Toms, the House Negroes, the Sellouts, to the NAACP we stepped off the plantation. Trust me if any of these clowns finally come out and say anything about Gladney being assaulted its only because they may feel pressured to finally say something and I can promise you it will be nothing to write home about. As a matter of fact I think we can safely file this attack away as a “misunderstanding.”

NeoKong, that’s an excellent idea. And there
should be a union of Americans to fight for
civil liberties. Perhaps such an organization
could fight to see that all Americans, regardless
of their race or political beliefs, would receive
the due process and equal protection under the
law as guaranteed in the Constitution. If only
such an organization existed …
What to call such an organization? UACL?

The good thing that came out of this incident was people started using state concealed carry laws. I remember an armed black man in a picture at one of these demos and it seemed to be effective.

So could someone expect the same lack of effort if they were to beat the stuffing out a couple of purple shirted seiu thugs? Or would the da’s office be working night and day to prosecute the crime? Guess we know the answer to that already. mpw

At what point does official malfeasance in enforcing criminal law in the face of clear evidence become Accomplice After The Fact of the crime itself?
At what point does official malfeasance in enforcing criminal law for political purposed become a crime all by itself?

The NAACP will aid him….just as much as the Feminists aided Sarah Palin. By aide I mean do all they can to destroy by using language that only they can use.
The truly sad thing is that ever since FDR, the plantation has become the inner city and the masters are the Dem representatives. They ‘give out’ food and water (welfare checks and public housing) to keep the slaves ’satisfied’ and spread anger (mainly anti-semitism) to keep them from realizing how they are being treated. And to think, only 3% had the courage to vote by principle in the 2008 election, shows how good the Left has become at imitating Hitler:
“By the skillful and sustained use of propaganda, one can make a people see even heaven as hell or an extremely wretched life as paradise.”

The Saint Louis government refuses to prosecute thugs. It isn’t bothered by individual complaints, but maybe it would notice if lots of people told the Chamber of Commerce that they were going to not spend money there.

Chisum, give chris a break. After Obama was elected, chris planned to come here and gloat for the next 50 years about how great it was to have a liberal run the country.
Didn’t really work out the way you wanted, did it, chris? In fact, you’re looking pretty stupid now, aren’t you? I mean, you actually had hopes for this corrupt, incompetent, fraudulent, ignorant clown! You were fooled by his soaring rhetoric. All it took to get you on board was… speeches.
Amazing. A toddler’s suspension of disbelief, yet you’re an adult with adult responsibilities.

It’s obvious that the District Attorney is a “criminal”. Surely there is an honest lawyer (is that an oxymoron) who can take Ken’s case and file a complaint with the Federal Government. Perhaps the FBI should do an investigation into this DA’s office. Looks to me like this black man’s right’s are being violated, blatently by a corrupt District Attorney and a corrupt police department.
Whooow, let me rethink this. Is this asshat of a DA a Democrat? Is the Fed AG a Democrat? Is our Federal Congress controlled by criminal Democrats? Is the White House filled with Democrat Marxists?… Ken, you’re f***ked!
I suppose the next time you’re at a Tea Party rally, selling buttons, you should carry a concealed .357 Magnum. If these or other SEIU thugs threaten you, just blow their asses away… legally, of course.

No doubt you have chris pegged.
One would think that chris has better things to do than leave stupid comments in every thread on this blog. Considering that it’s springtime in NZ one would think that chris would be out bird watching or something.

I agree with JAL he should have a lawyer and some conservative cause should provide it for him. This is a miscarriage. If the corrupt local officials are not even going to speak to him and file charges for a crime of assault that was caught on tape and viewed by “MILLIONS” than some lawyer should be smart enough to figure out a way to get this mans civil rights protected at a federal level. These thugs need to be brought to justice. Where is Eric Holder, Oh yeah he is too busy protecting terrorists rights and subjecting NYC to more danger.
What F***ing country is this.
November 24th, 2009 | 11:25 pm | #29
Gladney should have his attorney call the St. Louis officials and tell them that if they continue to ignore the crime committed against his client they’ll file a Federal Civil Rights complaint against them.

A friend of mine, LITERALLY got shot in the face when he was 19. the perpetrator was 18. My friend survived, and really only had a couple scars, most specifically a dimple, which is a scar caused from a .22 wraping around the bones of his skull. He was out of the hospital the next day.
The perpetrator, who should have been up for attempted murder, got off with misdemeanor assault.
Unless you are already familiar with the story, NEVER mention it around him or his friends or his parents, but if you are familiar, you are one of his friends or parents.
Meanwhile, another guy, who got stabbed, and who’s perpetrator was on probation, hit the guy who at first stabbed him in the head with club of some sort. (he two doesn’t like talking about it.) spent 7 years in prison for attempted murder.
Shoot a guy who banged your girlfriend in the face (yes I twisted that sentence on purpose) and you get a year probation.
Stab a guy you don’t like? get 18 months probation.
Actually be effective in self defense, while delivering no lasting damage using a blunt object? 7 years in prison, and a life as a felon.
I don’t give a damn about this “rule of law” BS people talk about. The “rules” of “law” have very little to do with justice, and the DA’s are often the most guilty perpetrators.

C’mon, we really shouldn’t make fun of contemptible leftist trolls for being contemptible leftist trolls. It’s not … well, compassionate. (moonbat mode/off)
It borders or high comedy when some I’m-all-for-justice whacked out conservative-hater who, in all liklihood has long been a proud member of the cult of perpetual grievances, whines about conservatives “complaining”!
When it comes to “complaining” about all manner of imagined slights and perceived injustices liberals make conservatives look like pikers. These are the same kooks who believe anything beyond harsh words and disapproving glares being used on Islamic terrorist scum is “torture”.

Justice for me, but not for thee. I can’t imagine that the entrenced statists – there are many – want TEA party folks to actually feel safe at their events.

Does the office of the county counselor have a conflict of interest here — doesn’t the SEIU represent county employees including those who work in that office? Could that be part of the reason for this extraordinary delay?

Years and years ago I went to the district attorneys office for help! I was told that years before there was a group of citizens that would pay a visit to a mans home and lay a switch (small tree limb) on his porch. He, believe it or not got three warnings! After that he was visited and whiped with that switch. If true, then bring back the good old days. Who needs a bunch of crooked lawyers, judges, etc to punish the bad guy!

Man, if ever there were a discrimination lawsuit, this just has to be the one. A black man, clearly and with multiple witnesses, assaulted, said case reported to the authorities, now being denied due process by these same authorities???
Are you telling me that in a country where there is a documented history of blacks in our past not getting equal treatment before the law, that this travesty of a response from the St. Louis LE community is not being pasted on as many billboards, trumpeted in local radio stations, on Rush, Hannity, forcing local MSM papers to talk about this? C’mon, folks! This has got to be a no brainer!!!
Somebody get me Brietbart!!! He’s the only media guy from the conservative side that seems to have balls and kicks ass against these leftist hypocrites.
For Chevy LT-1: I know the feeling, brother. I grew up in NYC, where most everybody in my family (Puerto Rican ancestry) votes with their left arm pulling that lever.
That being said, isn’t it just great to see these lemmings scramble to explain their illogic, or – when talking to their fellow PiedPiper followers – point at us and tell them we’re the “white sheep” of the family?
Happy Thanksgiving Frater, yours in Freedom and Faith…

You might bear in mind that this is the same prosecutor – dedicated, no doubt to “equal justice under the law” – who was/is the head of the Missouri branch of the obama “truth” squad; and who – along with the Jefferson Co. sheriff and the St. Louis city DA – threatened to arrest and prosecute anyone bad-mouthing their tin god, obama.
If you’re looking for someone with the ‘nads to prosecute Mr. Gladney’s assaulters, you’d better find someone else.
St. Louis and St. Louis County aspire to an observance of the law (and justice) on a par with that of Chicago. It’s just another democrat machine.
