In the Age of Obama we’re getting used to this.
A St. Louis democrat finally paid her taxes so that she could fill an open slot in the Missouri House of Representatives.

The Post-Dispatch reported:

A day before she clinched the nomination to fill a vacancy in the Missouri House of Representatives on Saturday, St. Louis Democrat Hope Whitehead paid a visit to City Hall.

Not to mobilize supporters, but to pay hundreds of dollars in outstanding taxes.

Her trip downtown was more than just civic duty. Under state law, candidates with overdue tax bills are ineligible for the ballot.

When her obligations were met, a panel of city Democratic leaders gathered Saturday to nominate Whitehead, 50, to fill the vacancy created by former state Rep. Talibdin El-Amin, who submitted his resignation in September after pleading guilty to federal bribery charges.

El-Amin is the third local Democratic lawmaker to leave office this year after getting caught in an FBI crackdown on corruption.

Delinquent tax dues seems to be a prerequisite for Obama’s Dems nowadays.

What gets me is that she owed taxes that she was obviously able to pay. I mean, it’s one thing to owe the IRS because you don’t have the money to pay. But to claim to be a flag-toting American while at the same time being behind on tax payments with the money at hand…well, one can’t be both a tax dodger and a patriot. Especially while voting for and/or running for the American party that likes to tax, tax and tax.

Here in MA our ATTORNEY GENERAL is doing the same thing with her taxes so she can run for Kennedy’s senate office. I think it is called a “do-over” and we should all be able to do that….but only when we are caught.

Yet democrat voters will tell us what a sacred obligation it is to pay taxes. Democrat = useful idiot.

“St. Louis Democrat pays taxes” So, it’s come to this – when a Democrat pays their taxes in full (albeit late), it is such a big deal as to create headlines.

Is there a list of the current Obama supporters that have been indicted or prosecuted?

The Birmingham, AL mayor was recently found guilty on charges of bribery.

    There’s a guy named “Talibdan El-Amin?”

Haven’t actually STUDIED Muslim names, but am reasonably familiar with the typical and the usual regional variations, but on the face of it, it looks like a mish-mash Muslim equivalent of manufactured names like … um, “JaSHaQuilla Smith,” but using “Taliban” (teacher) and “son of Amin.” (El, ould, Bin, Ben, etc = son of)
And IF manufactured, from where the “Amin?” Perhaps Idi Amin, the Nile Crocodile’s best friend of Uganda?

Just wondering. That’s what it evokes.

Any elected official, Republican or Democrat, who is found to be neglecting tax payments, should be immediately and permanently removed from office.

They should all be audited yearly.

    Period.

    The end.

I think the big question to ask is did she *file* and not pay for a listed reason (and we’d love to hear it), or did she just “forget” to file. Not sure how things are done in StL but elsewhere, that’s a big difference. Is anyone sayin’?

    Complete and utter incompetence!

    Hope and change.

Surprise! 15 million will owe taxes on tax break

The AP reports today that one of the centerpieces of Barack Obama’s middle-class tax cut will wind up looking like a tax increase next April 15th. A $250 rebate did not get structured properly, and up to 15 million recipients — mainly seniors — will end up owing more money because of a double-dip that went unaccounted:

More than 15 million taxpayers could unexpectedly owe taxes when they file their federal returns next spring because the government was too generous with their new Making Work Pay tax credit. …
Most workers started receiving the credit through small increases in their paychecks in April. The tax credit was made available through new withholding tables issued by the Internal Revenue Service.

Replacing a criminal with a criminal is no longer confined to prison procedures. All democrats are now taking part. I figure the armed revolution will start when people get their new tax bills. Taxable rebates, cuts in withholding rates with no tax cut to match and cash for clunkers which is taxable as income. I wouldn’t stand too close to a democrat when the W2 forms arrive. Irate people don’t usually shoot streight.

Guess what this dimwit’s profession is–attorney. So much for the BS. Another crook that will be elected to office in St. Louis–bet on it. And people wonder why things are so screwed up. Prerequisite for office.
