The state-run media is so desperate to bring down Sarah Palin that they are using 19 year-old porn star and deadbeat dad Levi Johnston to smear the Alaskan mother.

CBS News reported:
Sarah Palin talked tough about the father of her grandson on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” that aired Monday — and Levi Johnston is giving it right back.
Johnston watched with cameras from “The Insider” rolling as Palin was interviewed by Winfrey and, says “The Insider” ’s Chris Johnson, took exception again and again to things Palin was saying about him:
Palin: (It’s) a bit heartbreaking to see the road that he is on right now.
Johnston: I think she’s going out and talking and she’s just digging a bigger hole for herself.
Palin: (It’s) kind of this aspiring — aspiring porn, some of the things that he’s doing — it’s kind of heartbreaking.
Winfrey: The (upcoming) Playgirl centerfold (photo spread)?
Palin: Right. I call that porn. Yes.
Johnston: I just look at her in disgust. … It’s almost funny, that she’s like, 46 years old, and she’s battling a 19 year old, and I’m winning. And I’m telling the truth. She’s lying and losing. … If you look at her face, she’s got — she’s really — you can tell her mind’s going 100 miles an hour when Oprah asked her those Levi questions. … I’ve got a lot more knowledge and credibility than she gives me credit for.
Maybe Levi should call Cindy Sheehan to find out how this story ends.

I will be happy to applaud the train wreck this jerk will have in the future. I await the time that he will say that he had sex with or that Sarah made sexual advances toward him. In one interview he hinted that he had some secrets to tell when the time was right. The media will use him for as long as Sarah is on the front page. He will, at some time in the future, be able to join Cindy S. at Martha’s Vineyard. The media threw her under the bus when they were finished with her and so will be the fate of Levi.

I’ve been so disgusted with things that I haven’t been blogging much or keeping up with the political scene as I should. I’m not much of a tv watcher… however, I did tune into Oprah yesterday to catch the Palin interview. It was pretty much what I expected. I caught part of Inside Edition at the gym last night and was appalled by the spin they put on the interview…
Then today I turned on the tv after running around all day… the channel was still tuned to the channel the Oprah show is on and it was on again. I was mortified. I did not watch all of it but it was essentially about how American women are more into porn and seemed to be talking about it in a positive light. I find that interesting that this show aired the day after the Palin interview when she said she called Play Girl porn.
This is my favorite political blog and I came here to see if you had anything about it. There is something so very wrong here… There is no doubt that programs like SNL and stupid celebrity “news” shows have created a voice in the political arena. My Lord!!!!

I’m a few months away from being 19 and I am way more impressed with how Palin is handling herself. I thought Palin being on Oprah would be a Couric-like disaster, but she carried herself extremely well.
Funny how at this moment she has several reviews of her book that mock conservatives (they give it 5 stars to hide this), and certain reviews have hundreds of comments bashing conservatives. Liberals believe she is a threat because she is. She stands for everyday Americans more than elitists ever will.
Palin reached out to Levi, hopefully in 20 years he’ll see is just another liberal pawn.

Speaking about treatment Sarah is receiving from the so called “mass media”.
Drawing from my personal experience when I was still living in Poland under the communo-fascist occupation, I can only state that this treatment is even worse than the dissidents and oppositionists to the communist regime used to receive from the tools of a communist propaganda.
In Poland no matter what they wrote, nobody, even the “journos” themselves, would believe them so the impact was minimal. For that very reason those in charge of propaganda tools have been much more restrained in their attacks on the people active in an opposition to the communo-fascist regime.
In the so called “Western world” majority of the sheeple (as presented by the idiot calling himself “georgia guy”) seem to be suffering from a “brain shrinkage syndrome”, that’s why they are so susceptible to the lies being spread by mass media.

Being trotted out at the convention isn`t part of the criteria for being described as trailer trash. Neither is having a child out of wedlock the criteria for being described as trailer trash. You`ve presented two straw-man arguments.
Where his description as trailer trash comes from is in how he`s chosen to deal with his unexpected and undeserved notoriety. People with class will do their utmost to keep their own lives and the lives of the people they`re connected with private. A lot of people might be forgetting that it’s Bristol who is caught in the middle. She has to live her life with, as Obama notably quoted to approving nods of all folks as to the common sense of it, having “messed up despite the advice of her parents,” knowing that this ex-BF and father of her child is using her slip of youthful judgment as the means by which to he and the media can continually harrass her mother.

Yes, he may be callously using his 15 minutes to cash in. But, as you say, people with class choose to keep their private lives private, but that choice was taken away from him when he was put on stage by the Palins and the Republican party. Maybe he’s reacting against his being used by the Republican party to project a non-existent family for the Palins. And yes, choosing to pose for Playgirl is a cash-in decision, and not attractive at all. But it’s not a straw man argument to say that it’s not he alone who is responsible for the situation in which he finds himself, regardless of his subsequent poor choices.
bg—liberals are not deprived, depraved, or deadened, regardless of what you’ve been told. We are neither ashamed or self-loathing. Calling your fellow Americans that does nothing good for anyone, except perhaps yourself. We are not “hypnotized, forsaken or disowned”. As for being “forced” into the limelight: He had a choice to walk away from the limelight and be a non-resident father but a father none-the-less (a man’s decision) or to make a public spectacle of himself (a decision more appropriate for….. well…). What a waste of a human being. If he didn’t want to support his child, he could have simply slithered away, and the Palin family would not be making him famous for it. But instead, he not only advertises that he’s worse than a lousy father, he also decorates himself with florescent sewage that says “I’m stupid, I’m a lowlife, I’m greedy, I’m shockingly careless, and I’m available to be used.”
Too bad, Levi. You came close to an opportuntity to better yourself through association with a better class of people, but of course you took the detour back to the sewer.

Classic projection and stereotyping.
Obama’s daughters are not elected officials, they are his family. It’s totally irrelevent and morally scummy to talk or gossip about them, especially with any purpose to hurt their father thru them. They’re kids.
Their mother has indeed delivered political speeches, so any of her publically-stated opinions and public pronouncements – re politicking – are fair political and public debate. What she does on her own time, unless of course it’s questions about how she views the proper use of US taxpayer money to fund her shopping trips to Paris or some such extravagance that she normally wouldn’t pay for if it came out of her own pocket, is also “discussable.” If she’s snarfing up taxpayer money for personal indulgences, while Americans are losing jobs, homes and businesses, then it’s relevent and appropriate for public scrutiny.
Madame Carter sat in on WHite House meetings as a not elected or appointed official, but a spouse, so THAT sort of thing is open to public comment and criticism. Hillary Clinton tried to run her ClintonCare Health nationalization with her constructed committees and advisory counsels without any official appointment or authority, just SPOUSE, so THAT was also fair political and public business to discuss.
LIKEWISE, the same with the Palin children. They are not elected, they have nothing to do with politics, leave them alone. Mr. Todd Palin is exceptionally good at NOT giving the media ANYTHING that could hurt his wife and family. A lot of political spouses should take notes.
It’s an easy standard to apply and adhere to.
But the media doesn’t apply it; it holds a double-standard, a totally partisan approach – ooze and gush over and worse, COVER-UP the failures of their political favorites and use every method and tool to wreck who they politicially are in opposition to.
Sarah Palin represents a state that is heavily Native in population, even her accent is Native-influenced, her husband is Native, thus so are their kids. It’s not going unnoticed that the “trailer park” and “rubes” being thrown about reflects anything true about Sarah Palin, but on the Elite Establishment’s snottiness and racism against the Indian Nation.

I wasn’t the one to call Levi trailer trash, that came much earlier on this thread. I’ve never been a Levi fan, and I’m not defending his (reprehensible) actions. But he was put out there by the Palin/McCain campaign, so they are at least partly responsible for the fact that he is still in the public eye.

Collusion between the state and the media? The people that control the media are, almost to a man, conservative republicans. They will cooperate with whomever is in power, Rs or Ds. I am not a fan of nationalizing industry, regardless of which party is doing it. I feel for all those who were screwed by the recent failures, from Enron to Bear Stearns. And those were not caused be Obama.
Looting the Treasury? How much has been spent in Iraq? And for what? Freedom for the Iraqis? Then are we going to free all oppressed people? If not, then why just the Iraqis? And we don’t know if they’re going to end up “free” or not; that game has not played out to the end yet.
The Chinese have been buying our bonds for a long time; this is not a recent, or a liberal, development. The CRA is not the sole, or even the major, cause of the recession. Greedy lenders (and folks and Fannie and Freddie) repackaging subprime and bad loans and pretending they were solid investments caused a great deal of the problem. And I’m wiling to bet that most of the people who run the big investment firms are Republicans, yes?
This country is not being destroyed, all that we believe in is not dead. There are problems, but there have always been and always will be. And are you really saying that power-grabbing and greed are exclusively liberal problems? Greedy, power-mad people know no political party, only expediency.
