The leader of Lebanon’s mainly Shia movement Hezbollah says US President Barack Obama’s promise to engage with Muslims has proved to be false.
Hassan Nasrallah said the US had shown its commitment to Israel by sending more military aid and backtracking on demands to stop West Bank settlements.
He said the Arab world could not depend on the US to solve its problems because the US was causing them.
In June, Mr Obama called for a “new beginning” between the US and Muslims.
Correspondents say that Mr Nasrallah’s remarks were his strongest criticism yet of the US president.

Actually we have heard from Iran. The ship that Israel found all the munitions and guns on contained the same type of rockets used in Iraq to kill American soldiers. But, that is not suppose to get out ,because well you know it might hurt Irans feelings knowing we have more proof they supplied arms to insurgents to kill Americans.

Mr Obama should note that Reagan didn’t talk with the Russians until he’d already put them up against the wall for five years… a brinkmanship that was necessary to change the mind set of a USSR that already had military superiority in 1980, and was hell-bent on world domination.
Funny how they were anxious for a deal once Reagan showed them he was serious and resolute- despite moronic domestic opposition from Teddy Kennedy (even met with the Kremlin), Joe Biden, and other misguided fools who for some inexplicable reason are shaping the Dear Leader’s policies today.
This is worse than repeating the mistakes of the past- it’s making mistakes we were wise enough 25 years ago to avoid!

I have written about David Hamilton before.
He is the federal judge who believes it is a violation of the first amendment for Christians to pray at school events, but is not a violation of the first amendment when Muslims pray at school events.
He is also the judge who was cited by the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals for abusing his power by keeping an injunction in place on an informed consent law despite the law clearly being constitutional.
Barack Obama has naturally appointed the man to the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals — the very court that said Hamilton had abused his power.
Call your Senator today and tell him to vote against cloture on David Hamilton’s nomination. Call 202-224-3121. Ask for your Senator. Tell him to oppose cloture and oppose the nomination of David Hamilton.

Obama has made the same miscalculation with these terrorists that every western leader (except maybe Churchill) has always made.
I call it “projection”. We want peace and prosperity so we assume that everyone else does too. The terrorist leaders want exactly the opposite. Their power derives from chaos. If the Palestinians had peace and prosperity, who would need them?
They want one thing – us dead – period. Any negotiations they do or cease-fires they agree to are only to buy them more time so they can find new and better ways to kill us.
This is the problem with religious zealotry. It gives logical meaning to acts which are completely illogical.
The only way to defeat terrorists is to capture every last one of them, put them in a cell and force them to watch the 700 Club 24/7 for the rest of their natural lives. Don’t grant them death, that’s what they want.

The truth about the middle east fiasco is found in the Pentateuch, or the first 5 books of scripture. There is no peace with the Arabs because, as God predicted long ago in Genesis, they would cause enmity with all of those around them. They are referred to as ‘wild donkey’s’ in scripture. They won’t be happy unless we hand Israel over to them and allow Israeli genocide. All of these concessions Israel has made hasn’t meant squat. As a frequent guest at Al-baath University, my take on the situation in CHAM is that there is little resentment of America, but much resentment of American leadership.
Many of those whom I consider friends, whether they are followers of Islam or Christianity have been educated in america or have relatives living in America, as professionals.
In on my many visits, attrending conferences, I recall at least one discussion, on the disparity in American Aid to Israel, compared to the aid being received by their Semite bretheren.
I argued that America was providing far more to the the non-Israelis, than to Israel, considering the amount of crude oil (which was the topic of some of my presentations) being exported to the USA.
From the comment made by the Hezbollah leader, it appears that, looking at the complaints of American bias to Israel on merely a dollar to dollar basis was missing the point.
There complaint was based not on money, but on the bias shown in military aid, and our unmitigated support of disrupting the region.
