Pressure Builds On Geithner to Resign…
Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) calls on Tax Cheat Obama Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner to step down today during a House hearing.
Geithner supported the disastrous financial decisions that saw the national deficit triple in one year under Barack Obama:
Geithner sharply rejected the call to resign and blamed the current state on what he inherited from Bush.
Republican Brady blasted Geithner:
It’s been a year since the President was elected,” the panel’s ranking Republican, Rep. Kevin Brady of Texas, said at a hearing this morning featuring Geithner. “It’s appropriate for the American people to assess how well the administration’s economic policies are working. They are not. They have failed.”
“Unemployment has skyrocketed far past the White House’s projections and promises. America continues to shed jobs: more than 2.8 million since the stimulus was enacted,” Brady said. “We’ve had a series of embarrassing investigations about all the wild stimulus claims, the latest fake jobs from fake Congressional districts… You are the point man on the economy,” Brady said to Geithner. “The buck, in effect, stops with you.”
Ouch.
Democrat Rep. Peter DeFazio of Oregon called for Geithner to step down yesterday.

The very thought of giving up (POWER) his position brings a distinct pained expression to his face.

You mean he didn’t blame it on TURBO-TAX??
Maybe the Congressman should have had a MOP as a prop.

How DARE this little twerp cop an attitude? He helped create the Bush bail-out, and now he’s trying to wash his hands of any involvement in anything done by the FED during the Bush years. And his outright lies are unbelievable–unemployment was at 5.26% under Bush, little timmy’s stimulus package was supposed to keep this administration’s unemployment UNDER 8%. We were told by this idiot that if we did NOTHING, that unemployment would go UP to 8%–how does 10.2% sound? Brady is absolutely right, this little weasel should step down–if he had an ounce of dignity, he would.

New Agency Proposed to Oversee Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae
Published: Thursday, September 11, 2003
The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago…
Among the groups denouncing the proposal today were the National Association of Home Builders and Congressional Democrats who fear that tighter regulation of the companies could sharply reduce their commitment to financing low-income and affordable housing.
”These two entities — Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — are not facing any kind of financial crisis,” said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ”The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.”

Remember Tiny Tim was the only man who could save us. It was necessary to overlook his tax cheating dishonesty because he was the only man who could do the job. A fukking retard could do what Geither has done.

These Obama peons need to start watching the video of themselves. Apparently this is the beginning of their grillings on tape. Not only do they come off as dumb, really dumb and unprepared, the people behind them are laughing. The Holder tape from yesterday is similar. I have to say though, Timmy looks less intelligent than Holder did yesterday. I would not have though that possible.

Geitner is clearly in over his head. Maybe he should step down and just focus on paying his taxes. He’s not so good at multi-tasking!

What an incompetent tweet. Geithner has no shame holding on to a position that he is way over his head.

I’d agree with y’all…..ifin it didn’t take the fraud in the White House three years and a day to make up his mind! He takes all of that time and the best he could come up with is this tax evading criminal? I suppose he’s one of those that’s “too big to fail”. I will absolute drink myself silly and sideways the day he’s GONE and at least some of this stupidity stops.
If I can still afford a bottle, that is.

sorry for going OT again..
and i have posted about all this re: New World
Order.. but here’s another blast from the past..
[Maurice Strong, who is regularly credited as founding father of the modern environmental movement, serves on the board of directors of CCX. Strong was a leading initiate of the Earth Summit in the early 90s, where the theory of global warming caused by CO2 generated by human activity was most notably advanced.
Both Strong and Gore come from the Club of Rome clique, who in their 1991 Report, “The First Global Revolution” openly admitted how they were planning to exploit the contrived hoax of global warming in order to further their agenda.
“In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy then, is humanity itself.,” they wrote.]

here’s another one from 2005..
Billion-Dollar Scandal Not Ready for Prime Time
[On a Dec. 28, 2004, edition of CNN’s “Newsnight With Aaron Brown,” Tucker Carlson interviewed Gasparino about the media’s bypassing the Fannie Mae story. Carlson asked, “Why has it not been reported like Enron?”
Gasparino replied: “Well, Fannie Mae is a very politically corrupt – it may be politically corrupt, but it’s a politically correct company. I mean, they do all the things that, let’s face it, liberal journalists like, like put home mortgages out there for poor people. And so right now, beating up on Fannie Mae is kind of politically incorrect.”
The next exchange was telling. Carlson deduced: “So, because it’s not part of the tobacco industry or an energy company, it gets a pass from the press?”
Gasparino agreed: “Right. It’s not related to George Bush.
[..]
Fannie Mae Facts and Figures
* Expected to adjust for about $11 billion dollars in losses because of accounting errors – 19 times more than Enron’s accounting fiasco.
* Stock value has fallen from 52-week high of 77.80 to about 55 per share.
* Former CEO Franklin Raines was Clinton’s director of the Office of Management and Budget and a possible choice for Secretary of the Treasury had Kerry won election.
* Despite marketing slogans like “Our Business is the American Dream,” the GSEs together buy less than 10 percent of loans made to first-time African-American and Hispanic homebuyers.
* Bought more loans made to absentee landlords, vacation homes and second mortgages than first-time homebuyer loans.
* S&P 500; Ticker: FNM; Number of Employees: 5,060 (approx).]

Palinfan,
Your name reminds me of the comparison of Palin being able to let go of her position of power for the good of Alaska.
Her opposition is quick to call her a quitter, yet our country would be better off if more politicians were willing to step down from power for the good of the citizens.

This was published in the Phila. Enquirer. You know things are starting to heat up for the dems. And not in a good way. Can you say Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE)?
Welcome Home Barack!
Editorial: Asking questions
The preliminary work of the OCE indicates that there is no shortage of ethics issues since Democrats took control of the House. A confidential report leaked accidentally last month showed that the Ethics Committee had looked into at least 30 lawmakers this year as part of inquiries into possible violations of House rules.
Nobody has been accused of wrongdoing, but among the names on the list are Reps. Charles Rangel (D., N.Y.), the powerful chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, and Rep. John Murtha (D., Pa.), chairman of the defense appropriations subcommittee. Murtha and other appropriators are under fire for their questionable relationships with defense contractors.
The Ethics Committee has begun full investigations into Reps. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.) and Laura Richardson (D., Calif.), probes that were recommended by the OCE. The committee wants to know if Waters violated ethics rules by helping direct federal bailout money to a Boston bank connected to her husband, and whether Richardson got special favors in a real-estate deal.
The OCE’s role in ethics enforcement is important and should be preserved. It’s no accident that the House Ethics Committee is once again busy after a long, self-serving hibernation.

Missourians:
I just emailed McCaskill a link to this Real Clear Politics blog entry from yesterday that indicates only 34% of Missourians favor the healthcare reform and 55% oppose it.
http://realclearpolitics.blogs.time.com/2009/11/18/mo-senate-poll-carnahan-1/
I reminded her she represents Missourians, not Democrats, and it is her duty to represent the majority opinion of Missourians and to join in a filibuster of the Reid bill.

Bush kept your useless, tax cheating butt safe, Mr. Geitner. GO HOME!
November 19th, 2009 | 4:08 pm | #34
Well, my one of my least favourite former Prime Ministers of Australia (Gough Whitlam still remains the worst PM ever), Paul Keating had a few harsh words to say about Geithner when Obama insisted that this idiot should be appointed to that role. It was Keating who reminded people that Geithner was responsible for “f’ing up” the Japanese economy with policy prescriptions that were an utter failure…. this happened when Tiny Tim was appointed to that international organization. For all his smart power Geithner has been a real ditz when it comes to the application of his economics knowledge.

Geithner should step down and pursue his career in modeling. He was, after all, one of People Mag’s 100 Most Beautiful People this year. And it’s only a coincidence that his brother is a VP at the mag.
