Drudge reports:

The Statesman reported:

Gov. Rick Perry had some pretty strong comments about the Obama administration on Wednesday in Midland, saying, “This is an administration hell-bent on taking America towards a socialist country.”

Here’s the video:

Perry may be a little late. House democrats just voted to take over the US health care system and senate democrats are not far behind them.
We may already be there.

Leave it to a Texan to come right out and say it. We’re crazy that way.

Kudos to Gov. Perry. Yes, it’s something we ALL know. But little by little, piece by piece, other politicians are speaking out at this out-of-control gov’t. Yes, Deathcare passed the House…but it’s NOT TOO LATE. We can’t lay down & give up. Now is the time to FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT. Screw this political elitists who exempt themselves from this sh** legislation they put upon us.

Never too late to fight for our beloved country. We must do it for ourselves and all future generations.

Mark I’m hoping even more that its not just a stunt to help people forget his former Rino-ism as he and the even more Rino-ized Hutchison are clashing in the primary down here.

Bozo told Joe the Plumber that he was going socialist in erudite speech. This was no mystery. Bozo said Republicanism is a failure many times on the campaign trail. There is absolutely no mystery. Bozo’s plan is nothing less than socialism/ dictatorship or oligarchy. Democracy is a failure claims Bozo the sissy raging clown.

All readers here know it already – but the MSM has to cover this now.

Perry is a ballsy dude. But he swings a big stick. Texas is booming, they created 50% of the jobs in the USA in the past 12 months.

They are the model for the USA, and are the anitithesis of California.

CA is dying under a socialist regime, Texas is booming under a non-socialist government.

    WELL DONE GOV. PERRY!

There were plenty of us out here in the hinterlands who knew that BEFORE the election.

NOW they find the courage to speak out. Pathetic.

    c.f. What’s Wrong with Socialism?

“Von Hayek accurately foretold the fate that would befall dissenters from the plan. They simply could not be allowed to get in the way. Opposition would soon be treated as subversion, with debate shriveling to non-existence under the glare of the state. Those who refused compliance would first be marginalized, then dehumanized, and finally (failing re-education) eliminated. Collectivism and individualism cannot long share the same bed. They are political oil and water, and neither can compromise its position without eventually succumbing to the other. The history of the twentieth century is littered with the remains of those who became “enemies of the state” for merely drawing attention to this flaw. As Von Hayek predicted, the socialist vision would not be achieved without bloodshed. “

    Dear Gov. Perry-

We just need one Governor with convictions, one State to secede. There would be a Randian brain drain the likes of which the federal government cannot imagine. Then, let’s see how they plan to support their welfare state!

    Sincerely,
    Rosemary Woodhouse

I’m a Texan also and Perry has done a great job with the Texan economy and running the state. He even put the Texas Rangers on the border after the Feds refused his request to help stop the violence and gangs. He also supported the people at the Tea Parties and even made a reference to state Sovereignty. Hutchinson said she was embarrassed when Perry made the statement, just goes to show you she hasn’t a clue what is happening in this country; she is a RINO and I don’t see her winning after voting for all the spending she did in the senate, we don’t want that in Texas.

Perry has become deRinoed….Sarah did it.
Death panels already passed in Stimulus Bill.
Other health care junk already passed in Stimulus Bill.

He’s been hell-bent on taking America down since the day he found out who his daddy was. Martin Luther King, Jr. would be protesting Obama’s politics.

Governor Perry has finally found his voice and I, for one and as a Texan, don’t give a damn what caused it. And don’t think it doesn’t give me some [large amount] of pleasure to hear that a plant is closing in California only for Perry to announce the next damn day that the plant is moving to Texas.

Now there are those who will try to tell you that Texas is really a purple state. That is just so much bulls t. Texas is red, deep red, except for the border counties (of course, where the feds are dumping the illegals they remove from California) and Austin, the San Francisco of the Southwest.

I live in a small (4,000) central Texas town where the City hall needs to be renamed the DNC of Central Texas. But after three military funerals in the last seven weeks that were all hometown boys, even the yellow dogs are beginning to have voter remorse for voting for Obama simply because he had a “D” behind his name.

Kay Bailey Hutchison need to either stay where she is (remember, she was going to resign her Senate seat in September, then October, and here we are mid-November and she’s still in D.C.) and hope she is reelected next term or better yet, just retire. She has become such a RINO she could give Lindsey Graham a run for his money.

Here is a little inside info on why Perry is gonna go after Obama: after Hurricane Ike almost wiped Galveston off the face of the earth, we were promised the funds to rebuild the island. So Texas, knowing it would be repaid for the emergency funds that had to be spent, spent it’s own “rainy day” funds to start restoration to Galveston. Last May, when Governor Perry called D.C. to ask when our funds would be coming (remember all the money spent on New Orleans?) Governor Perry was told by the FEMA director (Obama appointee) that since the economy was in such bad shape, there were other states that needed that money worse and basically, Texas could just pound sand. Yet Obama has the time to assure the slugs in New Orleans they will not be forgotten.

Guess Texans should learn to sit on their roof tops and demand the government take care of them.

Funny, KBH mentions “socialism” in one of her comments last week and no one paid a damn bit of attention to her. Then she went on to prove how clueless she is when she was interviewed by Fox right after the Fort Hood shootings. Hell, she didn’t even know how many had be murdered when it was scrolling below her on Fox.

There are a few Tenth Amendment Governors around the country. Rick Perry is one of them. I’m to the point of just wishing we would secede. We have oil, refining capacity, ports, cattle, farmland, bio-technology, technology, natural gas and world class medical centers. Wtf do we need the other 49 states for?

    S. WolfNo Gravatar
    November 13th, 2009 | 12:08 am | #25

We don’t need the other states. As Sam Houston said, Texas can do without the US but the US can’t do without Texas.
