That private meeting at the White House with far left propagandists already paid off for Barack Obama.
Obama-lackey Frank Rich hit the keyboard immediately after the pep rally and released this hit piece on conservatives today comparing them to communist mass murderer Joseph Stalin.
From today’s New York Times:
The G.O.P. Stalinists Invade Upstate New York
BARACK OBAMA’S most devilish political move since the 2008 campaign was to appoint a Republican congressman from upstate New York as secretary of the Army. This week’s election to fill that vacant seat has set off nothing less than a riotous and bloody national G.O.P. civil war. No matter what the results in that race on Tuesday, the Republicans are the sure losers. This could be a gift that keeps on giving to the Democrats through 2010, and perhaps beyond.
The governors’ races in New Jersey and Virginia were once billed as the marquee events of Election Day 2009 — a referendum on the Obama presidency and a possible Republican “comeback.” But preposterous as it sounds, the real action migrated to New York’s 23rd, a rural Congressional district abutting Canada. That this pastoral setting could become a G.O.P. killing field, attracting an all-star cast of combatants led by Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, William Kristol and Newt Gingrich, is a premise out of a Depression-era screwball comedy. But such farces have become the norm for the conservative movement — whether the participants are dressing up in full “tea party” drag or not.
Of course, Rich drops the “teabagger” line later in his post as well, as if he doesn’t know its a nasty slang word for a sex act.
But, as Ed Driscoll noted, Rich’s attack is a bit confusing considering it comes from the NY Times. After all, the ‘paper of record’ published 13 glowing reports on Joseph Stalin’s wonderful achievements in the 1930’s as millions of Ukrainians starved to death.
But a paradox emerges: does Rich consider “Stalinist” a good or a bad thing? From Duranty copping a Pulitzer by shilling for Uncle Joe himself, to Pinch Sulzberger backing the NVA because “It’s the other guy’s country” to, just last month, Thomas Friedman pining for Communist China, it’s certainly hard to tell.
(And of course, while Scozzafava’s views were certainly to the left of mainstream Republicanism, it seems a bit unfair for Rich to call her a Stalinist…)
Is the NY Times suddenly making a stand against socialism?… With Barack Obama in the White House?

The New York Times is zero. I wouldn’ t be to surprise if the White House have connected with this. They are not doing their job for the America people. They are complaining and whiny at the White House just like they did to Fox News Network. It is just a wasting of time.

Just more Orwellian Newspeak. While the White House is full of Mao-lovers, call their opposition Communists. You’d think the govt had already purchased NYT.

“pining for Communist China”
It might be worth remembering that Mao criticized the post-Stalin Soviets for “going soft”.

The G.O.P. Stalinists Invade Upstate New York
Conservative Stalinists? Don’t words mean anything to leftists?
Maybe Joe 1 or Joe 2 or Joe 3 or Martin or some of the other trolls can define a “conservative Stalinist” for us.

Now that Charlie Rangel declared himself a conservative on TV this very morning, does this mean he must be a communist as well????
I think they have twisted up the words one or two dozen times too many, for those words to have ANY meaning when THEY use them.

FRANK RICH’S HILARIOUSLY POOR SENSE OF TIMING
He writes this. And less than 24 hours later Scozzafava, the (in his words) mainstream conservative (sic) comes out in favor of the Democrat. Grow up Rich. You’re an effing retard.
The New York fracas was ignited by the routine decision of 11 local Republican county chairmen to anoint an assemblywoman, Dede Scozzafava, as their party’s nominee for the vacant seat. The 23rd is in safe Republican territory that hasn’t sent a Democrat to Congress in decades. And Scozzafava is a mainstream conservative by New York standards; one statistical measure found her voting record slightly to the right of her fellow Republicans in the Assembly. But she has occasionally strayed from orthodoxy on social issues (abortion, same-sex marriage) and endorsed the Obama stimulus package. To the right’s Jacobins, that’s cause to send her to the guillotine.
In the mind of Rich, wisely not supporting this fake is sending her to the guillotine.

Most every political story that comes out of the Times is written by someone in the Whine Crib. The only thing the editor does is assign a “journalists” name to it.

There they go with the blame game again. They blame others for what they are guilty of.
They accuse others of what they are guilty of doing and being. Their motto is say it first and say it loud enough over and over and just maybe stupid American left of left voters will believe them..
Someone tell them it’s not working.

Stalinists, Jacobins … uber anti-religious Hard LEFT.
But now Conservatives and their ideological enemies are one and the same.
More than a cynical and opportunist political ideology … insanity is in the mix here. Cognitive dissonance overload.
But Rich is betting on a generation of Americans who have NO IDEA what he’s referring to, except it makes them feel “threatened.”
November 1st, 2009 | 8:00 pm | #20
Mr. Rich better read his history a bit more carefully. With the LEFT’s most radicals – Stalinists, Maoists and Jacobins in the mix, only ONE is allowed to be top dog.
As soon as the opposition is eliminated or evicerated, they begin purging amongst themselves for ideological purity.
Watch the disappearing people in Stalin’s photos – his most “trusted advisors” one by one airbrushed out.
November 1st, 2009 | 8:42 pm | #21
Rich wants to invoke “purges” but that’s what Leftists do to each other, not Conservatives. Conservatives “vote out” – Leftists “purge.”
Each one a defining characteristic of each political ideology.
Leftists constantly call to usurp normal transfers of government power by coup, take-over, dissolving this or that assembly or cutting short legal terms of office by impeachment or other mechanisms.
Conservatives call to use normal, established procedures and laws for orderly transfer of power.
This is not a small thing. Leftist rhetoric is infused with “revolution,” “question authority.” How many words were used in the past 8 years to “impeach Bush?” WHat for? His term of office was Constitutionally limited. The second election, he won fair and square, so voting him out didn’t work, but even so, what was the worry? He had only 4 more years and gone forever.
No. The Democrats wanted “IMPEACHMENT,” a means to rip a president out of office before his lawful term had expired, not for any wrong-doing, but for political disagreement.
The Left, by doing this is playing a very very destructive and dangerous game; encouraging people who do not know what chaos and disorder look or feel like to approve of transfers of power that have no basis in a consensus of the people.
People should be very very very very careful about making any decision or move that undermines the shared societal consensus of who is rightfully leading the country. The Left doesn’t care, they like chaos, they believe it gives them opportunities to seize control they otherwise wouldn’t achieve, but the destruction is immense and devastating.

It was my understanding that Maoists hated Stalinists so a Stalinist tag would fit right in with the suggested talking points of the Obama administration.

Whatever trumped-up attack the Dems trot out merely serves as a sure pointer to what they themselves are hoping to accomplish. The Stalin comparison should give us all pause: 1,000 people a day were executed under Stalin.

Frank Rich is the film and Broadway theatre critic, right? I wonder what it is about the Democrats that they keep offering us such complete and utter lightweights (theatre critic Frank Rich, sports guy Keith Olbermann) as their political commentariat while trying to convince everyone that a Governor of an American state doesn’t have the experience or capability to serve as President. (And then cramming the man-child Obama down our throats.)
