Unreal. Team Obama may allow US soldiers to be tried in the Hague for war crimes.
The Wall Street Journal reported, via Jihad Watch:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed “great regret” in August that the U.S. is not a signatory to the International Criminal Court (ICC). This has fueled speculation that the Obama administration may reverse another Bush policy and sign up for what could lead to the trial of Americans for war crimes in The Hague.

The ICC’s chief prosecutor, though, has no intention of waiting for Washington to submit to the court’s authority. Luis Moreno Ocampo says he already has jurisdiction—at least with respect to Afghanistan.

Because Kabul in 2003 ratified the Rome Statute—the ICC’s founding treaty—all soldiers on Afghan territory, even those from nontreaty countries, fall under the ICC’s oversight, Mr. Ocampo told me. And the chief prosecutor says he is already conducting a “preliminary examination” into whether NATO troops, including American soldiers, fighting the Taliban may have to be put in the dock.

“We have to check if crimes against humanity, war crimes or genocide have been committed in Afghanistan,” Mr. Ocampo told me. “There are serious allegations against the Taliban and al Qaeda and serious allegations about warlords, even against some who are connected with members of the government.” Taking up his inquiry of Allied soldiers, he added, “there are different reports about problems with bombings and there are also allegations about torture.”

It was clear who the targets of these particular inquiries are but the chief prosecutor shied away from spelling it out.

Asked repeatedly whether the examination of bombings and torture allegations refers to NATO and U.S. soldiers, Mr. Ocampo finally stated that “we are investigating whoever commits war crimes, including the group you mentioned.”

    Of all the idiotic …

We bring known terrorists from Gitmo to NYC to put them on trial here. Never mind the fact these ‘people’ were not born here, did not live here.

And our own military could be sent to trial in another country …

Makes no damn sense. Like our POS POTUS.

Hey! Get serious here….It’s not American servicemen/women who would be subjected to war crimes charges — it’s GEORGE W. BUSH and Richard Cheney, and that’s the reason the fraud in the White House will follow George Soros’ instructions and sign on to the ICC.

If you couldn’t see this coming from fifty miles away, have your eyes checked.

Can anyone explain the logic of trying Gitmo war criminals in NYC under federal law and, at the same time, turning over our soldiers to be tried as war criminals in the Hague?

This administration is insane, but no one is stopping it. (Since nothing is stopping it, it is doing more insane things every day!!)

I would love to see the top generals meet privately with Obama and demand proof that his is their legitimate CiC. If he refuses then they will go public with the issue even if they are all fired. We have to get rid of this entire administration one way or another.

Sounds to me like Obama is curious to see what a military coup looks like up close. And if he allows even one soldier to be tried by the Hague, he may well get his wish.

The American people would never, ever stand for it, not for one second.

When they repeal “don’t ask don’t tell” and American soldiers stop reenlisting and the military starts having problems recruiting non-gay americans because of the “gay stigma”. Hopefully the “gay” americans will join up in record numbers to makeup for the shortfall.
That’s the ultimate goal to make the US military a non-threatening force, replacing all the gungho/shoot first ask questions later soldiers with a more politically/diverse/peace loving soldier.
Hopefully the generals/admirals will have some say in sending soldiers to be tried in another country. This will destroy morale and whatever “will to win at any cost” that the US military currently has.

The Hague is a joke. Aside from being in one of the most Godless countries in Europe (25-30% Christian–but with pedophile political parties) it is beyond inefficient. Criminals from the Bosnian war from 1992-1995 and the Kosovo war in 1999 took on average 10 years before their cases were heard. And these were people who ordered their troops to fire on crowds of thousands. If you think the US government is bad….a multi-national government makes it look efficient.

The judges would be the same sort of left-wing socialists who awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. It’s beyond a joke and to go along with this garbage….

“We have to check if crimes against humanity, war crimes or genocide have been committed in Afghanistan”

Do these morons even know what genocide and crimes against humanity are?

Will someone please point me to where the investigation into genocide was when the Ukrainian nationalists backed by Stalin murdered 300,000 Poles in 1944-45? Or when the Russians murdered 500,000 German civilians in 3 months out of a total of 2,600,000 people in the region in 1944-1945, or when the Communists in Yugoslavia executed 60,000 POWs by firing squad in only a matter of days? Or how about when Stalin, backed by FDR deported 30,000,000 civilians? Where was the investigation into the Great Leap Forward famine in China where 40,000,000 died or into Pol Pot’s Cambodia with 2,000,000 dead? What of Hussein gassing and bombing 300,000 Kurds to death or North Korea’s estimated 1,000,000 dead from starvation due to work camps?

It seems to me that Obama cannot ever do what Hillary is claiming in this story.

I suspect that even IF there were a treaty, and the senate ratified it, that this treaty would actually be unconstitutional.

Seems like every leftist clown thinks they are above the US constitution.

I would also consider any attempt by this court to ‘grab’ any US soldier or US citizen an act of war.

It’s a two-fer for the Left – US military recruitment dries up, military re-enlistments wither, then the Left gets overseas troop withdrawals and also gets to pass their UNIVERSAL DRAFT bill, which drafts males and females 18-36 for military, national service OR ANY OTHER PURPOSE.
Military and National service should have been comprehensive enough wording for servitude, but “or for any other purpose” makes UNIVERSAL DRAFT an actual slavery issue.

The Democrats let this Hague villiany go thru and they’ve put a lot of Americans up against the wall, soldiers, families with soldiers, Americans who are paying attention.

this plan has been in the making for a couple of decades at the very least, therefore i’m certain they have long prepared for any & all sorts of fallout contingencies..

albeit i will never surrender.. right or wrong, i will call it like i see it.. but then again i haven’t been brainwashed & haven’t that much time left on this planet anyways.. but i will keep my chin up & keep praying people wake up in time (may be too late as i see it, but ya never know, miracle’s still happen, and if ever we needed one, it is now)..

This could very turn on him too:

“We know that Mr. Obama was illegally electioneering for his Kenyan cousin in both campaigning there for Mr. Odinga and raising millions of dollars in the United States for him
The end result was Mr. Odinga lost the election, but turned loose his terrorists who beat, robbed, raped and murdered in the most savage means Kenyan Citizens.
1300 people were massacred and over three hundred thousand people were forced to flee the Rift Valley.

Mr. Obama wants this international justice, so Americans should rally to this and have the ICC investigate every aspect of Mr. Obama’s life as an accomplice to the genocide in Kenya.
The ICC already is opening a case in the Kenyan crimes against humanity. All it will take is enough people demanding the investigation include on Barack Hussein Obama, and this criminal court will do the rest under Prosecutor Ocampo.”

George W. Bush would never sign anything, especially against our troops..

i firmly believe he had to fight everyone from every department during his presidency, including his father.. therefore, no matter how bad one views what he did or didn’t do, i know in my heart what he was up against, and i’m surprised he did as well as he did considering..

Write the RNC and complain about their total lack of leadership. I did:

    Hi:

I just stopped by for a moment to ask what’s going on with the Republican party. I voted McCain/Palin last year and have heard nothing from the GOP since McCain’s loss. I don’t mean hear personally, I mean hear at the national level, in terms of policies and positions, resistance against the marxists–leadership. That sort of thing.

In case you haven’t noticed, Obama and the Left have looted the US treasury and taken over the government. If their evil healthcare bill passes, they will be in control of almost 50% of the private economy and every aspect of our lives. If their unconstitutional actions meet with no resistance, our republic will be lost. Where I come from, that’s called a “coup”.

Is there any Republican with any balls in your organization? I’m just curious. The children in my family are going to be serfs living in cardboard boxes by the time this is over. Hello? Hello? Is anyone home? Please take a quick poll of the politicians in the room and see if any of them feel like leading. It’s a little risky and requires vision and character, but, statistically, you can’t all be losers. I’m sure I speak for many Americans when I say any little effort you might care to make on the voters’ behalf to save our republic would be greatly appreciated.

Are we going to check if AQ and the Talis commit war crimes as well? Or genocide? Oh wait, when Saddam gassed a few hundred Kurds… nobody gave a damn! And some mohammedan “general” said a few weeks ago that “muslims can’t commit war crimes”.

The International Criminal Court is another leftist joke. Fitting how it sits in the Netherlands, where the government has already surrendered to the islamo-fascists.

    Lemme just add:

The German “secretary of defense” has resigned over the fuel truck “incident”. A high ranking general also has resigned over the same incident. The officer who called the airstrike on the Talis has not been hit with trial, yet. But the left wing in Germany wants him to burn as well.

Honestly, with all this, who wants to be a soldier anymore? You can’t even fart anymore without facing charges by the left wing.

It is so sad to see us at this time of year…not supporting the young people to whom we owe our Freedom. My son is blessed he is Airborne in Afgstn. He was in a truck blown up on the road by an ambush, had a fractured hip, other minor bumps, and such. He is now on his second tour in Afgstn. He is there for us. When we turn on hot, and we turn on cold running water, sleep in a nice comfy. bed, and say what we want to say…

Thank God for our blessings and our children who toil in the heat, and in the cold, holding a gun, burning poop in a barrel, sleeping alertly, following orders from our leaders even … a president that probably hasn’t a clue how to do without toothpaste and a manicure, and the politically hungry with only money goals in their sights…. No mob mentality is needed here…just respect for our own, our soldiers, our children… our Fathers, our Mothers, Brothers and Sisters…

If Obama should allow any of our soldiers to be tried by the Hague, I wonder if the military will allow it. Military coup, anyone? Sad to think that might be possible, no?

In the end, Obama is going to be neutralized by a single shot. That’s what he is seeking. That’s the truth.

The Lord said He would bring up a powerful leader only to wither his arm and blind his eye. I am beginning to think Obama fills this bill. He has become useless right before our eyes…weak, and unable to see his own foolishness.

Trying American leaders or soldiers for doing their duty is an act of war against the United States. It fits no other definition. Enabling that act of war fits the extremely strict Constitutional standard for treason.

An act of treason by the President, aided and abetted by the majority in Congress would sever the Constitutional contract between the people and the government and practically demand that the language of the Declaration of Independence be applied to the current regime.

If the President wants to turn public disapproval into open revolt, he could find no better way.

This is an OUTRAGE! I do not see the American People allowing this to happen without some kind of action. Obama continues to circumvent the checks and balances of our government with the help of his majority of minions in the house and senate. THIS WILL CHANGE IN 2010 WHEN WE VOTE THEM OUT, and in 2012 WHEN WE VOTE OBAMA OUT
