Unreal. Team Obama claims their decision to move 100 terrorist killers to Illinois will create or save 2,000-3,500 jobs.
The New Editor reported on the administration’s focus on job creation:

According to an economic impact analysis by the Obama administration, the federal purchase and operation of Thomson could generate $1 billion for the local economy over four years and create between 2,340 and 3,250 jobs.

Of course, these jobs will be supported by US taxpayers. The administration did not release figures that show how much more money they will blow by having these killers held in Illinois rather than at Gitmo.

I just hope none of them escape and terrorize the “peasants” that are welcoming them to there community.
No such thing as escape proof prison. At least in cuba they would have a long swim to reach the mainland.
3000 prison guards for 200 prisioners, they must be more dangerous than the government wants us to believe.

Well, “yea!” for Illinois. Pretty pathetic that the only way they can create jobs is to virtually produce them out of thin air.

I don’t even dare estimate the cost of transporting these prisoners – with a small army of security guards for each and every one – from Illinois to wherever they’re going to be tried. We know New York City, for some and that’s not exactly a cab ride uptown.

Just imagine the irony of U.S. Marines having to shoot and kill American citizens on American soil when an attempt is made by some idiot to take the law into his/her own hands! All because of the terrible decision to move these folks out of Gitmo, where they were VERY secure.

Now let’s see….Who made that decision???

So Weatherman “respected educator”Bill Ayers can do prison outreach classes with them?
Teach them, “Chicago Math?” “One bomb plus two bombs makes four bombs!”

GITMO was pure genuis, and the Left can’t STAND being outmanuvered, so let them have their unrepentent killers and see how they like what they’ve been asking for.
Might remind the presumed potential union employees what these guys have done and tried to do to their guards while incarcerated. Didn’t one of the terrorists with the first World Trade Bombing use a plastic comb to gouge out the eye of one guard while in prison?
    Lovely bunch.
If Obama had been serious, he would have handed all the terrorists to Cuba – a ten minute bus ride thru the fence and let Castro keep them in HIS jails, just swap us Castro’s political prisoners to make room, and placate Michael Morre because GITMO prisoners would then have CUBAN health care, which is much better than anything GITMO could EVER provide, but for some unfathomable reason, CASTRO don’t want them EITHER.

Of course, and to be expected is Obama continuing his role as an Illinois Senator, instead of the President of the United States, continuing to push for jobs and opportunities in that state, helping to line his friends pockets, while the rest of the country crumbles.

That’s fine with me. Let them have the terrorists. Let Illinois deal with a terrorist attack when their friends try to break them out of prison.

And does this mean that since Illinois is getting the prisoners, that Illinois will be responsible for the cost of the transportation? If not, they should be. We the people, do not want these terrorists in the continental United States. And what is the difference between Gitmo and another prison? Only location. A location that is more accessable to terrorists.

As for not releasing the numbers of the cost, wow, that’s really transparent!

something we should all be aware of..

    Dr. Zuhdi Jasser

[In your activism, you've explained how political Islam dominates mosques and institutions of the American Muslim community. Would somebody like Hasan find an ideological home there?

Absolutely. And this is the part that is so difficult to explain, but to me as a Muslim is so easy to understand. Political Islam is an outgrowth of modern secular fascism. In the Middle East, the mosque was the only place you could discuss politics safely, where the government wouldn't touch you, so Islam became politicized. That's the model that the Muslim Brotherhood followed and brought to the United States. They were the ones who built mosques.

This has been a frustrating thing for me as a Muslim activist. Many Muslims disagree with political Islam, but they're not pressured to take on the mosque leadership. So you have discussions in the mosque going far beyond theology and the example of the Prophet; imams use the pulpit, or minbar as it's called in Arabic, to discuss politics. I've seen this over and over again in mosques I've attended.

At the largest mosque in Phoenix, the imam took a picture that CAIR distributed, and made a poster – we think it was doctored – showing an Iraqi lady holding a sign next to an American soldier, saying, "I was knocked up by this soldier." The imam held that up in front of 500 people in the mosque. I later said to him, "Not only is that very offensive to me, but do you realize what you've just done to the minds of students here at Arizona State University by showing them that picture?"

And you wonder how Hasans are created! They go to mosques, they open themselves spiritually to have a conversation with God. And that becomes infiltrated by a deeply anti-American sentiment. This is where you get a guy like Hasan, a very intelligent guy, starting to make the connection between his identity as a Muslim and standing against America. It's no different than Lee Harvey Oswald, who was in the Marines becoming a Marxist. You can't deny that his Marxism played a role in his hatred for this country.]

    crickets..

i personally wish Jasser would run
with Palin or vise verse in 2012!!

fyi: well worth 30 minutes of your time, as he is
risking his life trying to save yours, mine & ours..

    much more here, and here

    and there’s still tons more..

I suppose that to point out the percentage of Jihadis that have been released and returned to their murderous pursuits would be, well – pointless.

Or, that the released Uighars were photoed having a good time on the beach in the Bahamas or that the American prison system is the #1 recruiting ground for Al Qaeda and Muslim terrorists in general.

Finally, that these “rag-tag criminals” managed to hijack four planes and kill 3,000 Americans, are presently threatening the governments of Pakistan, Lebanon, Sudan, Somalia, Egypt, Algeria, Israel, etc, etc.

ht Ann in a previous thread..

Obama Wants Military Tribunals for KSM

    President Taqiyyah

    KSM Hits Manhattan—Again

[Coming soon to a civilian courtroom blocks from Ground Zero: Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the four other al Qaeda planners of 9/11. Be sure to get your tickets early, and don't forget to watch out for the truck-bomb barricades and rooftop snipers.

Attorney General Eric Holder, who dropped this legal bomb on New York yesterday, called his decision to move their trial on war crimes from a military courtroom at Guantanamo Bay to American soil "the toughest" he has had to make. Other words come to mind. For starters, intellectually and morally confused, dangerous and political to a fault.

    [..]

Please spare us talk of the “rule of law.” If that was the primary consideration, the U.S. already has a judicial process in place. The current special military tribunals were created by the 2006 Military Commissions Act, which was adopted with bipartisan Congressional support after the Supreme Court’s Hamdan decision obliged the executive and legislative branches to approve a detailed plan to prosecute the illegal “enemy combatants” captured since 9/11.

Contrary to liberal myth, military tribunals aren’t a break with 200-plus years of American jurisprudence. Eight Nazis who snuck into the U.S. in June 1942 were tried by a similar court and most were hanged within two months. Before the Obama Administration stopped all proceedings earlier this year pending yesterday’s decision, the tribunals at Gitmo had earned a reputation for fairness and independence.

As it happens, Mr. Holder acknowledged their worth himself by announcing that the Guantanamo detainee who allegedly planned the 2000 bombing of the U.S.S. Cole off Yemen and four others would face military commission trials. (The Pentagon must now find a locale other than the multimillion-dollar, state-of-the-art facility at Gitmo for its tribunal.)

    [..]

Terrorists also love a big stage, and none come bigger than New York. Zacarias Moussaoui, the so-called 20th hijacker, made his civilian trial a spectacle. Not even the best judge can entirely stop KSM and others from doing the same. And Mr. Holder has invited grave and needless security risks by tempting jihadists the world over to strike Manhattan while the trial is in session.

Most Americans, we suspect, can overlook the legal niceties and see this episode through the lens of common sense. Foreign terrorists who wage war on America and everything it stands for have no place sitting in a court of law born of the values they so detest. Mr. Holder has honored mass murder by treating it like any other crime.]

i think all those who voted for Obama should be taxed & leave the rest
of US save for the rainy day that’s bound to come sooner vs later..

if New York “liberal” koolaid drinkers approve of boosting the moral
of jihadists, then the least they deserve will be the brunt of the fallout..

not to mention further putting off filling in the hole left in the ground the
second time around.. hey, they say 3’s a charm, guess it’s only fitting you take the lead, go for it NY.. hmmm hmmm hmmm

re: [American prison system is the #1 recruiting
ground for Al Qaeda and Muslim terrorists in general.]

    that, and so much more..

    just a sample:

The Terrorist Camps Around The U.S.

    Springtime in Islamberg

[Islamberg is a branch of Muslims of the Americas Inc., a tax-exempt organization formed in 1980 by Pakistani cleric Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, who refers to himself as "the sixth Sultan Ul Faqr," Gilani, has been directly linked by court documents to Jamaat ul-Fuqra or "community of the impoverished," an organization that seeks to "purify" Islam through violence.

Though primarily based in Lahore, Pakistan, Jamaat ul-Fuqra has operational headquarters in New York and openly recruits through various social service organizations in the U.S., including the prison system. Members live in hamaats or compounds, such as Islamberg, where they agree to abide by the laws of Jamaat ul-Fuqra, which are considered to be above local, state and federal authority. Additional hamaats have been established in Hyattsville, Maryland; Red House, Virginia; Falls Church, Virginia; Macon, Georgia; York, South Carolina; Dover, Tennessee; Buena Vista, Colorado; Talihina, Oklahoma; Tulane Country, California; Commerce, California; and Onalaska, Washington. Others are being built, including an expansive facility in Sherman, Pennsylvania.

Before becoming a citizen of Islamberg or any of the other Fuqra compounds, the recruits - - primarily inner city black men who became converts in prison - - are compelled to sign an oath that reads: "I shall always hear and obey, and whenever given the command, I shall readily fight for Allah's sake."

In the past, thousands of members of the U.S. branches of Jamaat ul-Fuqra traveled to Pakistan for paramilitary training, but encampments, such as Islamberg, are now capable of providing book-camp training so raw recruits are no longer required to travel abroad amidst the increased scrutiny of post 9/11.]

Please spare me the military commissions act signed by Bush. This was meant to circumvent the Geneva Convention and was a catch all dragnet act that allowed the Bush Administration to scoop up anyone that was perceived to have terrorist connections.

If the Tribunals are so efficient, then why hasn’t KSM been tried? What was the stall on trying the man and putting him to death long before Obama took office?

As far as terrorists loving a big stage, all egotistical megalomaniacs love a big stage. That still does not guarantee that there would be any terrorist trying to blow up New York during the trial. This is just more conservative fearful hand wringing that you are so famous for.

If I had to bet, I would bet any disturbance would come from American terrorists, not al Queda terrorists. There are plenty out there that want to destroy the Government of his country, just because Obama is President.

In any event, your argument is mostly opinion as is everybody’s on this subject. This is unprecedented, unchartered waters we are heading into. I happen to think that getting a conviction in a criminal court and putting KSM to death is the way to go. You think letting him rot in Gitmo is the way to go. Who is right remains to be seen.
