Hate crimes against Muslims in the United States continue to drop since 9-11.
IBDeditorials.com released this chart on US hate crimes back in 2007, via Michelle Malkin:
The number of hate crimes against Muslims have significantly decreased since 9-11 from nearly 500 a year to 115 a year.
US hate crimes in 2007:
There were 115 hate crime incidents against Muslims in 2007 (the latest data available).
This is down from the 2006 numbers by nearly one-third. There were more recorded hate crimes against Christians than against Muslims in 2007.
US hate crimes in 2006:
There were 156 anti-Islamic incidents recorded in 2006.
Anti-Jewish hate crimes continue to lead the category. There were 969 recorded hate crimes against Jews in 2007.

What is counted as a “hate crime”?
I seem to recall that after 9-11 there was incidents reported to the police where a muslim felt someone “looked at me angrily”.
Checking the data source at the linked statistics, they include incidents called “intimidation” that could very well be things like that. So if a muslim reports that someone “intimidates” them by “looking angry at me”, that would probably be enough to be a hate crime and make it into the statistics.
I’d like some more clarity as to what the statistics actually show.

I believe the progressive communist (aka democrat) goal is the eradication, or at the very least extreme minimalization of religion in the US to pave the way for worship of the state, or a world religion … whichever will work best in the subjugation of mankind.
At the moment, Islam is an ally of the progressive communists … and when Christianity and Judaism are successfully eradicated, Islam will be next.

The simplest way for Christians and Jews to combat hate crimes is to violently and savagely attack and kill all enemies and perceived enemies. This is what Islam does and it forces capitulation to their demands and silences criticism.

A little known fact regarding the hate crimes against Muslims reported in the US is that when the FBI and others started investigating the actual cases of so called hate crimes against Muslims they found that many of these crimes were actually not supported by the facts and indeed a great deal of evidence pointed to by groups like CAIR. These media spin groups would jump on a story involving Muslims to spin the “Muslims being oppressed angle”.
In fact the number of reported crimes against Muslims dropped right at the time the FBI started looking into CAIR and other Muslim Groups who make up the web of propaganda like the ISNA etc.
My favorite is this one about two clowns setting their own store on fire. Without knowing the real facts or maybe they did CAIR the so called defender of the oppressed Muslim went into action in that and used lies to claim bigotry.

It would probably be instructive to list the hate crime statistics as frequency per capita. In 2007, the US population of Jews was 6.44 million and the US population of Muslims was 2.35 million.
Dividing the hate crime incidents by population, we get the following incident frequency (incidents per million):
Jews 150.5
Muslims 48.9
So the reported hate crime frequency for Jews is a little more than 3 times as large as Muslims, when corrected for population.

Um, there aren’t more hate crimes against Christians than Muslims in the US, according to the graphs you provide. In fact, your graphs make a very good case that Muslims are disproportionately victims of such crimes and that the rate against Christians is very low. The reason is that you’re using the same base to compare the two groups, which is a common mistake in statistical analysis. This country is about 78% Christian but only .6% Muslim. Therefore, per capita, the Muslim rates are off the chart is high and this statement: “Today there are more reported hate crimes against Christians in the United States…” is very false.
Math doesn’t lie, folks.

Because the stats define Christian as either Catholic or Protestant, are there any Orthodox Christians in the ‘Other Religions’ category?
I’d imagine that may bump up the total Christian numbers.
Also were the 2001 figures for Islam an outlier? Any info on pre-2001 numbers?

Yay Jono. I was waiting for someone to point out the obvious, that this is a straight numbers for numbers comparison but percentage-wise the number suggest exactly the opposite of what the headline is trumpeting.

I wouldn’t trust too many statistics put out by todays media. Many muslims crimes are swept under the rug and underreported for PCs.
Converts to Islam committing crimes will be failed to mention by their muslim names and of course their religion; usually the American name is reported to the public.
for instance in the second article after the 1974 one: Was this about race or Islam. Most converts in American to Islam are young black males:

There will be more killings by Muslims as their population increases the more bolder they become. They are mostly like sleepers cells in the US because we are predominately a Christian nation.
In the Gathering Storm, boiling the infidel frog:

This is very misleading. You need to consider the total numbers of Muslims vs. other religions. Given the statistics in terms of crimes per 1000, and I think you would see something very different.
