Conservative Heroes–
Michelle Malkin wrote this on meeting Sarah Palin in Colorado yesterday: The governor and I talked briefly about Copenhagen (here’s her latest piece in the Washington Post calling on President Obama to stay home in the wake of ClimateGate), left-wing attacks on conservative politicians (Michele Bachmann is the latest target of specious ethics complaints), and the blessings of living outside the Beltway. Most of all, I’m glad I got a chance to simply say “Thank you” in person — for her strong conservative voice, for her relentless optimism in the face of unrelenting attacks, and for her public service as a defender of life and advocate of the American dream.
Sarah Palin added this on her Twitter account: “Thrilled 2 meet Michelle Malkin&her beautiful family in Colorado Springs,along w/a couple thousand more fine locals;thank you CO!On 2 Nevada”

I love that Michelle is wearing fur! This is a sensible choice with it being zero degrees out in the Springs, but not something you would see from a liberal.

However, not certain about the ‘conservative heroes’ aspect.
Mrs. Palin’s tax increases on Oil Companies seems hardly conservative, nor was her embrace of the disastrous McCain Platform of “whatever is popular”, including the debasing of sound interrogation techniques like waterboarding.
The fashion has grown to be absurd, pushed by fine folks like Mrs. Malkin.
The way many of the fashion pushers treated the fine Bush Administration after 2004, was simply overt, hyperbolic, reactionary, and enabled the likes of Pelosi, Reid, Clinton, Schumer, Obama.
Calling one of the Bush Administration’s trusted Officials a “bellhop”, was ugly and destructive.
And Mrs. Palin’s continued enabling of this Third Party fashion, which will lead to electing more Democrats, is simply foolish.
Playing the 3rd Party vibe is disastrous. It lacks a certain responsibility especially after Mrs. Palin was the Second on the GOP Ticket in the last Primary. Toying with this fashion, lacks vision, leadership, etc., and a sincere understanding of how dangerous it is to enable such poor conceptions.
The Third Party fashion is a loser, just as big of a loser – even greater – than John McCain’s Maverick existence.

BTW, I am half way through Sarah Palin…Going Rogue and have no regrets buying it! Will stay in my collection forever. She sure got her chance to get even with and tell the truth to what really happened during her campaign for Vice-President. I am sooooo proud to be part of having Sarah’s FIRST book! Bet there is more to come! Smile

These gals have no compare in the competitive party. Michelle’s book is one of the best on the Obambi Admin corrupt spin czars. Palin is one of the best examples of leadership that we have outside of the beltway.
We need to stay with conservative ideas and principals. We need to kill this Government spending or we will perish.
I would encourage all to read their books, follow them in Facebook, Twitter and learn more about both of these great gals.
I am glad that they speak out and contribute their ideas to conservatives.

I find myself totally agreeing with Mountainbear. If Palin (and Malkin) are so irrelevant, why is it that each time one of them speaks, y’all go right through the roof with your reaction?? And – even further – why is it that millions now find Mrs. Palin to be far more influential than she was just one year ago?
You know you’re directly over the target when you get the most flak….and BOTH of these ladies are directly over the target.
If the Republicans haven’t figured out that the good old boys network has been ushered OUT, then it’s time somebody clued them IN. The Conservative’s voice WILL be heard and WILL be a major factor in determining who will be the party’s candidates in the 2010 and 2012 elections.
I – for one – consider them a breath of fresh air in an otherwise smoke filled, stinking political world.

I have lost a TON of respect for both Palin and Malkin for their comments the past few days in regard to Huckabee. I would expect push-back on the left, but not using the death of four police officers for political gain. Shame on you both.

Logically Brooklyn is from Brooklyn. Based on what I have read about Huckabee’s amnesty program, and he deserves to be trashed. Since when is stating a point of view political gain? Where is the ton of respect, when your trash the object of you respect?

Agree with Karla. Malkin was much worse than Palin. Palin’s comment just sounded like she was repeating something that she heard. Malkin was deliberately and viciously dishonest. Malkin really needs to have a moment of introspect to see who she really is. To do what she did and never apologize for it to show that it was just an accidental mistake can only mean that it was intentional. Pretty sad that I have to say that about her, since I used to look at her as a hero.
