Egypt is erecting their own apartheid wall.

Obviously, the young leftists won’t be protesting this barrier.
The Guardian reported:
Work has begun on Egypt’s northern border to dig the foundations for what reports say will be a vast underground metal wall in the latest effort to prevent weapons smuggling into the Gaza Strip.
Egyptian security officials have said they are digging steel tubes into the ground on their side of the border and are paving a road that will have devices along its route to monitor smuggling. The US Army Corps of Engineers, which is reportedly involved, has worked with the Egyptians on preventing smuggling along this border for at least two years.
Palestinian smugglers in Gaza have built dozens, perhaps hundreds, of underground tunnels through the sand to bring a wide range of goods into the small territory, from food to fuel to cattle, to skirt Israel’s economic blockade. Armed groups, notably Hamas, also operate more secret tunnels to bring in weapons and these are often targeted by Israeli jets. After Israel’s three-week war in Gaza last January the US said it would provide technical and intelligence assistance to Egypt to stop weapons smuggling into the strip.
It’s nice that the US can help secure the Gaza border with Egypt.
Maybe someday we’ll do that here at home, too.

Actually, this is an anti-Israel measure, supported by the US. It’s meant to put pressure on Israel. The restricted border opening between Israel and Gaza has been enormously successful at fending off terror attacks on Israeli civilians inside Israel.

OT.. IRAQ
(Turban) has lost its luster, and some Islamists
came under the robes of liberals and independents
["The cleric popularity declined in the city, but his influence is still strong
in the villages and rural areas and greater influence of the head of the clan itself and heard his words and ordered him to take due and obey. "

yes, it’s quite difficult to interpret..
but maybe Hameeds (via ITM) interpretation will help..
[The turban and the religious signs have lost their
shines in Iraq and will show in the next Election.
People have tried the leaders of those sectarian religions, both Sunni and Shia and have been dissapointed and are now determined to get rid of them, in the next Parliamnetary Elections.
The country folks however, are still mainly illiterate and will obey the Imam, the shaikh- religious- and the Sayyed- who claim decentdants of the prophit. Which has led the secular parties to enlist them with loads of cash and other inducements to work for them.
People are now fed up with them and will vote for the Liberals- secular groups- The records of the present leaders are not uptoscratch and will
not be elected next year.
Let us hope we will have technocrates to run
the Country, separate the State from religion.
As for the Kurds, their influence will wain and possibly just be lost as the Arabs , both Sunnis and Shias have woken up and discovered their twisted and selfish games.
Good luck Iraq, and remain free and democratic.]

Imagine that. We help countries all over the world build walls to secure their borders yet we don’t here at home. WTF???!!!

Seems as if liberals believe all countries on Earth have a basic right to control their borders as they see fit in the exercise of freedom and self determination inherent in all peoples. Except the Unites States of course.

Maybe we could hire the Egyptians to come over here and help us with our border – since there doesn’t seem to be anyone in our own government capable of handling the problem.
(Of course, that would compromise millions of future democRAT voters, wouldn’t it?)

…Palestinian smugglers in Gaza have built dozens, perhaps hundreds, of underground tunnels through the sand to bring a wide range of goods into the small territory, from food to fuel to cattle, to skirt Israel’s economic blockade….
Is it even possible that ANYONE BELIEVES they build tunnels for this purpose? Is it possible that ANYONE BELIEVES that Israel has an economic blockade?
All total lies spread by enemies of Israel.
