The Rats Are Jumping Ship—

The US unemployment spiked from 7.6% to 10.2% this year under Obama… the highest rate in 26 years.

Chart from the Bureau of Labor Statistics- via Sweetness and Light
Obama promised his stimulus plan would create 3.7 million new jobs.
Instead America has lost 3.6 million jobs.

Democratic Reps are threatening a jobs March on Washington to protest their own failed economic policies.
CNN reported:

Members of President Obama’s own political party are charging that the White House and the Democratic Congressional leadership are not doing enough to help the unemployed and are threatening to organize a march on Washington of jobless Americans.

“Obviously there’s something that’s not getting through to them,” said Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Illinois. “And we’re going to let the White House and everybody who’s concerned know that we have got people in our districts who are depending on us to deliver for them.”

Rush and Reps. Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio, and Candice Miller, R-Michigan, chair the new Congressional “Jobs Now Caucus,” which is comprised of 112 Democrats and 17 Republicans.

Rush and Kaptur argue that a new jobs program is more important than health care reform, but stop short of threatening to hold up a vote on one of Obama’s most important domestic policy initiatives.

“We’re not there yet,” Kaptur said.

Some of the proposals being floated by the caucus include: redirecting existing stimulus and TARP money to jobs programs and pressing for a new jobs bill, which they’re careful not to call a “stimulus.”

The problem with Marcy Kaptur is that there is no “there” there.

    And there never has been.

How many million will it be – as reported on the MSM? The MSM has a real quandary here. Do they inflate a few thousand people (in purple tee shirts and pre-printed signs) into millions or do they stand as the gatekeepers for B.H.O? Does the MSM report any such protest at all?

Maybe they can use the 9/12 march b-roll footage to bolster the claims of millions of protesters.

    This is delicious.

Conservatives need to stay away from this nonsense.

Jobs are created by an unburdened private sector via capital investments.

How did Obama manage to ruin the booming economy he inherited from Bush in such a short space of time? And what did he do with the budget surplus Bush left him as well? And why is he re-invading Afghanistan after Bush won the war there already? What’s going on?!

The crash in the 80’s was very bad. Those of us who lived thru it and were trying to raise a family were hit very hard. Investments where paying double digit interest, but normal living was out of control. I just see red when Obama doesn’t even mention it, all he talks about is the Great Depression, like we haven’t had other ones. These occur approx every 20 yrs or so.

I have a friend who is almost 80 and she explained to me a few years back that these crashes and depressions are actually normal corrections. Nothing (stock market, housing prices, etc) can just go up, up, up, or down, down, down without correcting itself at some point.

This is too funny. These idiots are protesting their own votes in congress. There is no sense in blaming the WH and the leaders in congress. It was their vote that passed the stimulus, cap and tax and the healthcare bill in the house and they were very gung ho about it too. The problem is that they have finally looked at writing on the wall. The 2010 elections are coming fast and furiuous and their idol is tanking. They were just a little too snarky to their constituents during the townhall meetings and Obama can’t save them as they thought. He is no longer omnipotent. An empty shell as we tried to tell everybody but they didn’t listen. Everyone has become disenchanted with him and thus with them. Their arrogance has led them to this pass and no one deserves it more. The republicans should stay away from this farce and let them sink all by themselves.

“We did not ask for this fight. On Sept. 11, 2001, 19 men hijacked four airplanes and used them to murder nearly 3,000 people. They struck at our military and economic nerve centers. They took the lives of innocent men, women and children without regard to their faith or race or station. Were it not for the heroic actions of the passengers on board one of those flights, they could have also struck at one of the great symbols of our democracy in Washington and killed many more.”

“I make this decision because I am convinced that our security is at stake in Afghanistan and Pakistan. This is the epicenter of the violent extremism practiced by al-Qaida. It is from here that we were attacked on 9/11, and it is from here that new attacks are being plotted as I speak. This is no idle danger, no hypothetical threat. In the last few months alone, we have apprehended extremists within our borders who were sent here from the border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan to commit new acts of terror. This danger will only grow if the region slides backwards and al-Qaida can operate with impunity. We must keep the pressure on al-Qaida, and to do that, we must increase the stability and capacity of our partners in the region.”

Most of them are foaming at the mouth because Obama said the same thing Bush had been telling us since 9/11. I wonder if it has occurred to them that we have been told this because it is the truth. Maybe Jack Nicholson was right when he said “YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!”
