Rep. Michael C. Burgess M.D. (R-TX) delivered a 1-minute speech on the House floor calling on the Obama Administration to immediately fire the so-called “Safe Schools” Czar Kevin Jennings, calling him “dangerous for our schools and children.

The Hill reported:

Republican Congressman Michael Burgess (R-Texas) on Thursday renewed his call for White House “safe schools” czar Kevin Jennings to resign his post.

In a tweet this morning, Burgess asked followers, “Do we really need this office?” He also shared a link to his one-minute speech on the House floor Wednesday, in which he called for Jennings’ to step down immediately.

“Kevin Jennings needs to be replaced, he needs to be replaced today,” Burgess stressed in that speech. “The so-called safe schools czar appointed by the Obama administration to the Department of Education is dangerous for our school children.”

According to Burgess, the danger Jennings poses students is best summed up by a recent Washington Times editorial, published on Wednesday.

Wrote the newspaper’s editorial team: “The Obama administration is stonewalling serious inquiries about sexual filth propagated by a senior presidential appointee who is responsible for promoting and implementing federal education policy.”

The Times specifically charged Jennings gave sexual advice to minors — an inappropriate decision, they added, that is “part of a consistent pattern by some homosexual activists to promote underage homosexuality.”

“I don’t know if I’ve ever seen an editorial in a major newspaper that came with a bolded warning, just like an FDA drug,” Burgess later said, referencing the lengthy warning about explicit material that begins the Times’ piece.

The Washington Times published another editorial today on Obama’s Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings.

Teenagers shouldn’t drink alcohol. That’s the policy of the United States government, which spends billions to enforce laws backing the policy, and it also is the position of pretty much every respectable organization in the nation, including the Department of Education. So naturally, when looking to fill the post of the nation’s top school-safety official at the Education Department, President Obama chose a guy who founded and led an organization that allowed bar guides to be handed out to high school students.

Once again, “safe schools czar” Kevin Jennings has been involved in making schools less safe. As always, this one was, whoops, a mistake. It is always a mistake. Whoops, while a teacher, he enabled a teenager to continue a sexual relationship with an older man whom the student had met in a bus-stop bathroom. Whoops, he praised one of the North American Man/Boy Love Association’s most vociferous defenders. Whoops, the group Mr. Jennings founded, the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network, recommended books for children as young as 13 that present sex between minors and adults in a positive light.

The rest of the state-run media remains silent on the recent revelations involving Jennings which would be another glitch on the Obama Administration – an administration that already is suffering record low polling numbers.

Grassroots Nation has started a petition to fire Kevin Jennings.
—Please think of the children and go sign it now!

That’s it in a nutshell. We need to abolish both Jennings and the office in one fell swoop.

I am going to add Burgess to my tweet list. It’s about time a politician stepped forward. I’ve been asking Claire McCaskill all week to do so. As usual, no response.

I’m not big on signing petitions. They used to have an affect, but over the past couple of decades, they’ve become meaningless….until now.

This sick man needs professional help and he needs it NOW. The last place he needs to be is at the head of a governmental agency that determines what my grandchildren are taught and how they think.

Had he been around when my children were minors, he wouldn’t have been around long. He’d still be in prison….or worse. No, I would not attack him physically….But, back then, somebody would have.

    This sickness has to stop.

    Well, it’s about time!

What do the Republicans think they are accomplishing by remaining silent? Rep. Burgess is courageous, and only a handful of others dare speak out regarding the Marxist takeover. Why?

    Silence=complicity

Thank you, Jim, for your ongoing expose of this pedophile, Jennings!

“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked rule, the people mourn.” – Proverb 29:2

One cannot expect common sense and wisdom from the foolish and immoral.

The Obama administration is a train wreck in slow motion, and the collateral damage will take a years to clean-up.

    I signed the petition.

God bless Dr. Burgess. I have written my congressman to ask him to support the opposition to this abominable appointment. I know that House members can’t do much directly but they can certainly make the same courageous moral stand on behalf of the children of our states.

I’m so glad that Rep. Burgess is my representative here in Texas. Thank you Jim for all your hard work investigating Mr. Jennings. Based on your daily articles, I decided to email my reps (Burgess, Cornyn, and Hutchison) earlier this week, and thank goodness one of them has stepped up to defend our children.

I agree – he needs to be fired and this position needs to be eliminated. This administration would just fill it with someone even more contemptible.

Wanna take your Country back in 2010?

Here is a snapshot of the 2010 Elections:

U.S. House: Dems=258, Repubs=177, Republicans need to beat 41 democrats, and lose no Republican seats, to take the House in 2010, and to have the majority of votes needed to elect Republican John Boehner, as the new Republican Speaker of the House, and boot Nancy Pelosi out as the Speaker.
(takes 218 out of 435 seats to make a majority
    in the House)

In the 1994 republican revolution, House
    republicans picked up 54 seats.

All of the House is up for reelection in 2010,
so all democrats can be voted out in 2010.

    ———————————————————

    U.S. Senate: Dems=58, Repubs=40, Independent=2
    (Bernie Sanders and Joe Lieberman)

Roughly 1/3 of the Senate is up for reelection every 2 years.

37 Senators are up for reelection in 2010, and
of those 37, 19 are Democrats, and 18 are
    Republicans.

Republicans need to lose no Senate
Seats in 2010, and beat 20 dems (gain 20 Senate seats)to have the 60 vote margin to pass
legislation, but there are only 19 democrats
up for reelection in 2010 to beat, so the
other 1 added Senate seat will have to be
done in 2012, if Joe Lieberman, the
Independent moderate, does not caucus (vote)
    with them on enough legislation.

If the Republicans pick up all 19 Democrats Senate seats, and lose no Republican Senate Seats in 2010, they will have the Independent Senator Joe Lieberman, who caucuses (votes) with them most of the time, to give them the 60 Senate votes the Republicans need to pass legislation in 2010.

In the 1994 republican revolution, Senate
    republicans picked up 8 seats.

John Hoeven is out in North Dakota. Paul Sorum is running strong there against Byron Dorgan. Sorum spoke at a higher education forum today and had some brilliant ideas to improve our education system. He is a strong fiscal conservative and is really gaining some attention in North Dakota. He won me over at the meeting. Paul Sorum for North Dakota Senate. It’s time for a change.
