A rocket launcher and jihadist writings were found in a Houston apartment today.

The launcher reportedly belongs to Nabilaye I. Yansane seen here at court earlier this week.
Click2Houston reported:
Police went to a southwest Houston apartment to break up a disturbance but ended up finding something else, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.
A woman called police on Monday and said a man was forcing his way into her apartment in the 5300 block of Elm Street.
When officers went inside, they found something that made them concerned enough to call the bomb squad.
They found an AT-4 shoulder-mounted rocket launcher. It can shoot a missile nearly 1,000 feet through buildings and tanks.
“It gives infantrymen the advantage with an ultra-light weapon that can stop vehicles, armored vehicles as well as main battle tanks and fortifications,” said Oscar Saldivar of Top Brass Military and Tactical on the North Freeway.
That type of rocket launcher has been used in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The renter of the apartment didn’t want to talk to KPRC Local 2.
“This is my house,” the woman said. ” Get away from here. I don’t want to talk to nobody.”
The woman did tell police that the rocket launcher belonged to Nabilaye I. Yansane, someone whom she allowed to store items at her apartment.
Police records show that she didn’t want Yansane at her apartment, so she called them.
According to court documents, officers also found Jihadist writings that allegedly belonged to Yansane. The woman didn’t want to talk to KPRC Local 2 about that, either.
UPDATE: WFAA reported tonight that officials found a container with explosives in North Texas. A copy of the Koran was found nearby:
Authorities tell News 8 a suspicious device found in a North Texas neighborhood did contain explosives.

Based upon a little reading between the lines, I think that what we are talking about is an EMPTY launch tube from a LAW. As a kid growing up on military bases, my buddies and I had bunches of these things that our dads brought home from “the office” after they were used. They are no more harmful/dangerous than an empty shel casing, and are not only readily available online and from surplus stores, but also completely legal to own.

The article said an “AT-4″ rocket launcher.
Big difference between an M72LAW and an AT-4.
The article didn’t say whether or not the launcher contained a rocket, though — but I can hardly see it being newsworthy to get so exercised about an empty launch tube.
btw; The live, loaded launchers are readily available if one goes to the right source. Quite a few have been taken from Mexican drug cartel armories. (They, of course, came from the mexican army.)

Take it from someone down here in Houston — the local media is well known for leaving out little details like the launcher being empty if it will make for a more sensational story that might draw ratings/traffic. And rest assured that the current prosecutor, a law and order Republican, would be filing charges in a heartbeat if there were actually a rocket in the thing.

School Threat
[* According to two trainers at an anti-terrorism conference on the East Coast, preparations for attacks on American schools that will bring rivers of blood and staggering body counts are well underway in Islamic terrorist camps.
* The intended attackers have bluntly warned us they’re going to do it.
* They’re already begun testing school-related targets here.
* They’ve given us a catastrophic model to train against, which we’ve largely ignored and they’ve learned more deadly tactics from.
[..]
Al-Qaeda has publicly asserted the “right” to kill 2,000,000 American children, Rassa explained, and has warned that “operations are in stages of preparation” now. He played vivid videotapes confiscated in Afghanistan, showing al-Qaeda terrorists practicing the takeover of a school. The trainees issue commands in English, rehearse separating youngsters into manageable groups and meeting any resistance with violence. Some “hostages” are taken to the rooftop, dangled over the edge, then “shot.”]
Computer disc found in Iraq contained U.S. school plans 10/8/2004
[Federal law enforcement authorities notified school districts in six states last month that a computer disc found in Iraq contained photos, floor plans and other information about their schools, two U.S. officials said Thursday.
[..]
The disc contained an Education Department report called “Practical Information on Crisis Planning: A Guide for Schools and Communities,” published in May 2003, as well as photos and floor plans.]
The Ends Islamist Terrorists Seek
[The entire goal of Al Qaeda-type monsters is to provoke a reaction from mainstream America by pursuing evil against those who stand in the way of imposing theocracy. These fascists have no value for life other than that it's simply a means to their end of a totalitarian theocratic state. It is their ideology. In their warped view of religion they are God.
These are not the actions of psychopaths. Instead, they are the calculated actions of those seeking power and those afraid of freedom. They know that liberty's greatest weakness is its wide exposure to attacks against noncombatants (i.e., you and me) and the way in which protections against those attacks alter the very liberties we all seek to protect.
[snip]
If American Muslims declare open war against Al Qaeda, Americans will rush to defend our mosques rather than allow them to be burned. Otherwise, with rage and vengeance, the freedoms so protected by our Constitution will quickly dissipate into a nation gripped by fear and hate of the “other.” And that is the ultimate goal of such horrific acts: to create a reaction which ultimately destroys the very fabric of our nation-the trust of one another, under God, under our Constitution. The children they would kill in schools on this “Perfect Day” would be a utilitarian mechanism (ends justifying the means) to achieve the destruction of the “American” way of life.]
& at the rate Obama is changing the rules & releasing
GITMO detainess & dismissing charges against AQ..
i’m afraid his aiding & abetting Islmaists is hastening attacks on US soil, i’m just hoping & praying that our kids aren’t the ones to pay the price..
btw, that was just a sample..

[The Obama Administration is attempting to shift blame for Abdulmutallab, pointing reporters to information that the Nigerian was given a visa by the U.S. embassy in London to travel to the U.S. in 2008, around the same time that he graduated from University College London, a well-respected university. But the State Department source says at that time Abdulmutallab was not on a watch list and traveled to Houston on that visa without incident. A year later, in May 2009, his application for a student visa to return to Britain was rejected because the college Abdulmutallab claimed he would attend was "bogus," and that red flag was shared with U.S. State Department, Homeland Security Department, U.S. Justice Department, and almost certainly U.S. intelligence agencies.]

Waleed Basyouni is the vice president of the AlMaghrib (ahl-MAHG’-rihb) Institute. He says Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab (OO’-mahr fah-ROOK’ ahb-DOOL’-moo-TAH’-lahb) registered online in April 2008, then attended a two-week program hosted by the institute in Houston in August 2008.

Obama’s fisters, marxists, truthers, and America-haters don’t care about rich, white people – like the ones that fly on airplanes. They know why they hate us. And, are wrecking the economy and our sovereignty.
School or shopping mall massacres are easy and only require coordination and secrecy: keeping the teams separated until it’s time to righteously mass murder. September 11, 2001 was much more difficult.
It’s just a matter of time.
But, WHATEVER YOU DO: don’t enhanced interrogate the poor darlings. That would be bad. If they never waterboarded KSM, the Twin Towers would be standing. Right?
Thousands of dead Americans iare a reasonable price to pay so that ‘they’ don’t hate us.

I am (hopefully correctly) assuming that lawenforcement across the country are checking and re-checking their contingency plans. In my city, however, the former democratic mayor (who resigned before the end of her term for no apparent reason) spent like a drunken sailor. We have a state-of-the-art concert facility (that we didn’t need) so people like Britney Spears and Lil’ Wayne will come. She also built a high-tech city hall, and ANOTHER ballpark.
Wel, her Republican sucessor(by a hefty margin) got left holding her wack budget shortfalls. Who’s in danger of losing jobs, you ask? Why policemen and firemen, of course. I’m angry at the new mayor as well. ?Bu it got me thinking bas to how very important it is that states continue to ensure funding for their emergency services and personnel is SECURE. Wouldn’t the government love a reason to implement its own “police forces” across state lines? Due to state budget cuts and such. We must protect our soverignty.

OK, I can see why the Houston story is a concerning case and should be investigated. But I can’t help laughing at the N. Texas one. That one is such a hoax and an amateur one at that. I know enough about devout Muslims that they would never leave a koran on the ground like that. So sorry about your Max, but I am sure that he had a great life. And you will see him again at the Rainbow Bridge. I have a friend who had about 5 Yorkies and now that they are gone she is a Yorkie Foster Mom. That is great that you are able to work at the Wildlife Refuge. (I wouldn’t be able to do snakes either!)
It is hard losing them, but when they have had a good life at least there is some peace with the loss. I lost a 4 month old foster to distemper 1 1/2 years ago and it still breaks my heart because she never had a chance to live her life.
I have two 2 years olds (and a retired husband), and they are a handful. One is a mixed breed and the other is a Saint with a handicap. There are days I think a houseful of toddlers would be easier than 2 dogs and a husband underfoot!

I say, expect the worst and hope for the best. Why doesn’t this fella store his rocket launcher where he lays his head rather than at this woman’s house? However, the current terrorist stories are interesting. We have a bomber in Detroit and a rocket launcher in Houston. Two places that I would not think of for islamic terror attacks. Though primarily based in Lahore, Pakistan, Jamaat ul-Fuqra has operational headquarters in New York and openly recruits through various social service organizations in the U.S., including the prison system. Members live in hamaats or compounds, such as Islamberg, where they agree to abide by the laws of Jamaat ul-Fuqra, which are considered to be above local, state and federal authority. Additional hamaats have been established in Hyattsville, Maryland; Red House, Virginia; Falls Church, Virginia; Macon, Georgia; York, South Carolina; Dover, Tennessee; Buena Vista, Colorado; Talihina, Oklahoma; Tulane Country, California; Commerce, California; and Onalaska, Washington. Others are being built, including an expansive facility in Sherman, Pennsylvania.
Before becoming a citizen of Islamberg or any of the other Fuqra compounds, the recruits - - primarily inner city black men who became converts in prison - - are compelled to sign an oath that reads: "I shall always hear and obey, and whenever given the command, I shall readily fight for Allah's sake."
In the past, thousands of members of the U.S. branches of Jamaat ul-Fuqra traveled to Pakistan for paramilitary training, but encampments, such as Islamberg, are now capable of providing book-camp training so raw recruits are no longer required to travel abroad amidst the increased scrutiny of post 9/11.]
Homegrown Jihad: The Terrorist Camps Around The U.S.
can we say: GOOD LUCK WITH THE KSM TRIALS NYC??
seeing as how Obama et al have not only seen to the release or dismissal
of charges against some of the most wanton terrorists, but AFFORDED THEM THE SAME RIGHTS AS INNOCENT, LAW ABIDING “born in the USA” CITIZENS.. or would that be just another waste of breath under his seemingly dictatorship.. *sigh*

Schools & Terrorism: School Terrorism Preparedness
albeit before Obama’s reign, i simply cannot get my brain unwrapped around the fact that Obama describes just about everything to with America as “improbable”..
and i just ran across this, disturbing (especially when one reads between
the lines aka: pays attention the words, understand what he’s saying & compare them with what he’s done in regards to our enemy, namely, Islamist terrorists, redundant, i know, but purposeful), at the very least..
On the other hand, Barack Obama is quoted, just a few
days after the attacks of September 2001, as saying:
“Even as I hope for some measure of peace and comfort to the bereaved families, I must also hope that we as a nation draw some measure of wisdom from this tragedy. Certain immediate lessons are clear, and we must act upon those lessons decisively. We need to step up security at our airports. We must reexamine the effectiveness of our intelligence networks. And we must be resolute in identifying the perpetrators of these heinous acts and dismantling their organizations of destruction.
We must also engage, however, in the more difficult task of understanding the sources of such madness. The essence of this tragedy, it seems to me, derives from a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers: an inability to imagine, or connect with, the humanity and suffering of others. Such a failure of empathy, such numbness to the pain of a child or the desperation of a parent, is not innate; nor, history tells us, is it unique to a particular culture, religion, or ethnicity. It may find expression in a particular brand of violence, and may be channeled by particular demagogues or fanatics. Most often, though, it grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair.
We will have to make sure, despite our rage, that any U.S. military action takes into account the lives of innocent civilians abroad. We will have to
be unwavering in opposing bigotry or discrimination directed against neighbors and friends of Middle Eastern descent. Finally, we will have to devote far more attention to the monumental task of raising the hopes and prospects of embittered children across the globe—children not just in the Middle East, but also in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and within our own shores.”
what else did we need to know?? that says it all.. *sigh*

Bg,
“We must also engage, however, in the more difficult task of understanding the sources of such madness”
While this is a natural question, at some point you have to realize you can’t understand or fix crazy. Why did Jim Jones convince all those people to drink poison Kool-aid? And why would they do it? Why do some people kill others? Why do some people hurt animals?
Hey, I would love to have the answers to why and how things happen. But, there are things you have to deal with that you will not be able to understand or have an answer for. Period.

why??
as Dr. Jasser might put it (and more
or less has, not to mention others)..
It’s The Ideology Stupid!!
flashback to June 09..
“This is the first time I felt proud of being an American Muslim. I felt really proud, actually.”
sound familiar??
and how about this..
[The Islamist lens is all about protecting, legitimizing, and validating
the agenda of political Islam and not about protecting, legitimizing, or validating all that is America.]
no secret where Obama stands..
let me clarify, i have nothing against Muslims per se, it’s the radical Muslim Islamists whom Obama outright supports, and in doing so, is truly hurting Muslims everywhere, just read the article’s in post #58
for some insight as to the damage Obama is doing not only to US, but anti-Sharia Muslims who are also being silenced by Obama, & again, those Obama supports (justs a sample, and albeit just as ominous, sure gives a new meaning to the silencing of the lambs doesn’t he)..

yep..
my bottom line translation (as with
everything oriented with “radical”):
IT’S NOT THEIR FAULT..
THEY ARE THE VICTIMS..
ergo, it must be ours..
and as bass ackwards as thinking can get..
Obama et al believes that by “fixing” US,
they will miraculously become US.. gah!!
Obama’s idea of “fixing” = destroy US, now we’re victims too.. and all is “equal” in the world according to Obama’s “social justice” pretzel logic..

I know very well about the attack in Belsen.
I don’t know why the training camps are allowed and tax exempt bg. I also wonder why in the hell guys are coming to blow us up from nigeria when they are already here. I guess they are just really patient/and in no hurry, which we already knew.
I also wonder what happens when the next big one is actually successful at killing a huge number of Americans, what in the hell BO is going to do. At some point I’m beginning to wonder if the terrorists are not actively pushing BO to take a side with more conviction. I guess, being empathitic to them, I can see the point of doing so.

btw, they have attacked many other schools & slaughtered, burned, blew up children (some on their way to school) ie: in Pakistan.. while most have made the news, none were as huge as the slaughter that was Beslan.. :(
then there’s the other kind of schools (they’re
everywhere, including right here in the US)..
not to mention mosques (and churches).. or this and this.. *sigh*
