Absolutely shameful. Even though there was record turnout on Sunday in the Honduran elections… Even though Hondurans defied the leftist thug Manuel Zelaya and turned out in droves… Even though the Honduran election met international standards…
The Obama Administration said on Monday that it was an “insufficient step” to end the political crisis in the democratic country.
On Sunday Honduran voters soundly rejected leftist thug and Chavez-wannabe Manuel Zelaya.
Voice of America reported:
The U.S. State Department says Sunday’s presidential election in Honduras was a significant, but insufficient step, to end to political crisis that began there in June with the ouster of President Manuel Zelaya. U.S. officials are stopping short of recognizing opposition candidate Porfirio Lobo as the country’s next president.
The State Department says the Honduran election met international standards for fairness and transparency and it has commended Porfirio Lobo for what it termed an “ample victory”.
But at the same time, it stopped short of formally recognizing Lobo as the country’s next president and says Honduras must still take steps toward political reconciliation before it can emerge from the isolation brought by the June 28 ouster of President Zelaya.
The U.S. response to the Honduran vote came Monday from Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Arturo Valenzuela. The Chilean-born U.S. diplomat said the voting was a significant step, yet only a step, in Honduras’ return to full democracy after the coup d’etat that drove Mr. Zelaya from office.
In June the Honduran Congress and Supreme Court along with the military ousted corrupt Leftist President Manuel Zelaya from power. Zelaya tried to illegally secure himself as president for life like his friend Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. Zelaya was, of course, supported by regional Marxists in Venezuela, Bolivia, and Cuba. The Honduran government appointed Roberto Micheletti president until the planned elections in November. The Obama administration announced early on that they would not recognize the winner of the November election.
Manuel Zelaya, the ousted leftist leader of Honduras, is backed by Latin American Marxists Raul Castro, Evo Morales, Daniel Ortega and Hugo Chavez and American President Barack Obama. Sadly, even after the historic elections, the Obama Administration continued on Monday to attack our American ally in Central America.

What else would one expect from a communist administration. This administration will not be happy until a communist is in power in Honduras. Preferably a islamic communist.

Do you know how you can tell the Obama White House does not support something….?
They don’t talk about it using the word “robust”.

The Honduran people are to be admired by all of us. They should be incredibly proud of what they have acheived.

-correction- “achieved”.
It is a disgrace our administration is (again) so wrong on this issue.

We are all Hondurans now.
And they say our President doesn’t pal around with Marxist types?

Wish we had a free republic instead of a centralized government progressing to a dictatorship.
What are you going to do to fight this is the only question you need to ask yourself.

It’s a weird period in our history. Imagine a time when our nation should be taking the lead from a country like Honduras but is led by a President who prefers following Chavez.
I’m glad Honduras won. It’s over. The state department can whimper, the Obama admin. can complain, but it is over.
Now let’s get back to working on how to get the corruption from Chi-town out of our White House.

Obama had no problem accepting the results of the Iranian ‘election’.

I am stunned — actually literally stunned. Do since when did following your constitution actually upset liberal……s, um never mind. (I know health care is in there somewhere I guess I just need to look harder.)
Seriously, this foreign policy team are fools and run a far greater risk of having a giant confrontation then any Republican has.

The White House and State Dept. screwed up and can`t admit they made a blunder.
An official from Honduras should go to the White House with a “RESTART” button for Hillary.

.
He should care so much about political reconciliation in his own country.
Stunning. Stupid. Typical.

Hopefully the Republicans in Congress will hold a huge “Congratulations on Your Election Victory” affair for the newly elected Honduran Presidente.

Oh come on Mr. President, be a man, admit you were wrong, and let these brave people have their day. Yes they made our State Department and you look stupid, and you were. Yours wasn’t exactly a Reagan, Thatcher, Polish moment, and it could have been. Uncle?

Classic.
If the people vote for a “rightist” or a “conservative”, then the left wing cries.
But if they would have voted for the Wannabe Chavez, then Team O would have celebrated this as an important and significant step towards democracy.

Too stunned for words. Not to advance democracy is abominable.

This is the kind of arrogance liberals accuse Bush of over and over again. But I cannot remember a time when Bush did such a thing to a Democratic nation, especially after a legal vote. It is simple disregard for the rights of Honduras. Obama and his cohort believe that their are superior to the ‘know nothings’ in central america, and feel they should be able to dictate how they run their own country.

“The Obama Administration said on Monday that it was an “insufficient step” to end the political crisis in the democratic country.”
Honestly, in the US, despite the election a year ago, it was an “insufficient step” to elect a president, since there has been no proof of natural born citizenship status.

When people were dying in the streets of Tehran, fighting for free/fair elections, we were told that we should not be ‘meddling’ in the affairs of other countries…. When a Chavez wannabe is dumped by people who love freedom, we can ‘meddle’ in the affairs of that country 8 days a week on behalf of the socialist…..It’s hypocrisy defined. And it shows how bad a place we have come to with the election a Marxist to the Presidency.
December 1st, 2009 | 8:55 am | #23
And just what does this administration consider sufficient, if not a free and legal election, clearly decided? Some sort of power-sharing agreement from which Zelaya can mount another assault on Honduran freedom? This statement infers that Zelaya has some sort of valid grievance against the will of the Honduran people and the lawful execution of it’s government there. Shameful!
I am counting the days until we vote to oust our own anti-democratic leftists from our midst. Hopefully for a good, long time.

Leftists are scary for two reasons: 1) their ignorance 2) their obliviousness to their ignorance. Our arrogant blowhard with a teleprompter is really showing us his leftist credentials here.

On the behalf of the American people, I would like to apologize to the brave Honduran people for the pathetic excuse we currently have for an Administration.
Please know that we are with you in spirit, and we will be doing all within our legitimate power to correct the mistake our population made a year ago in November.
Hopefully, we will not find it necessary to follow your lead with regard to remedies.
Yours truly,
Hugs and kisses,
Sarge

I am sick of Liberals, and can’t wait to expunge them from the process. Obama has actually set the black race and their participation in the political arena back untold years because it will be a very long time before whites will ever again consider a person of color without a VERY close look at their background and qualifications. That’s human nature, and the direct result of electing someone that was nowhere near ready to hold the most important position in America. I look forward to seeing the future Youtube video of a Reverend Wright diatribe with you-know-who in the audience. Believe me, it will happen.

(My spell check insists that I capitalize “marxists”. Not a chance.)

Now, let me see if I’ve got this straight.
The election in Iran – which anyone with an IQ higher than a stone could see was completely dishonest – was deemed by our president (the esteemed “constitutional scholar”) to be open, honest and fair. {Even though its blatant dishonesty resulted in the deaths of hundreds – if not thousands – of demonstrators who only wanted a fair vote count}
However, the election in Honduras – with a slate of candidates previously approved by the OAS – which saw a record turnout by voters and was accompanied by almost NO violence whatsoever – has been deemed “insufficient” by the US powers-that-be. This, despite the fact that every law and the Honduran Constitution was scrupulously followed every step of the way. (Not to mention, of course, that the obama candidate was prohibited from even running for a second term by THEIR constitution.)
Why, yes. It all makes perfect sense now — if you live in Cloud Cookoo Land.

Valenzuela needs to be dragged in front of a nice senate committee for as long as it takes for his resignation to be handed in.
Why do we even have a Chilean-born diplomat?
Looks like more politically correct thinking gone right down the drain.

Obama makes me sick. If I could projectile vomit all over him from here, I would in a heart beat.
December 1st, 2009 | 1:01 pm | #33
We’ve warned Congress, the Supreme Court, the corrupt Federal Judges, the Electoral College, about this impostor Obama. You would think at some point, these brain surgeons would wake up and realize the guy in the White House is not a legitimate American President. I want to vomit, when I realize how ignorant, and disgusting all of those in a position to have this man removed, are not doing that. The one way to remove him is to force him to provide proof of his eligibility. They choose to ignore it. As much as I like Dick Cheney, if he would have followed the Constitution and asked for objections during the counting of the votes, and someone would have objected, he would have been forced to provide that proof. Instead the entire country is paying a price, because everyone was afraid to say something about this piece of human garbage Obama. After havoc is wreaked for enough time on this country, and it’s all over, if we survive it, they will look back and wonder, why did I let him get away with that? It will take years for this country to recover from this train wreck Obama.

……………………..
Because OUR education system is not producing Americans with even remotely passable language skills, geography, geopolitical backgrounds for diplomatic work, just crapola.
And ambassadors are either political appointees or State Department career staff. Crappy posts get career diplomats, plum posts are political rewards.
Sometimes ya get a on-the-ball political appointee, but usually ya get a hack or a very carefully positioned political operative.

Do you have any idea what the hell is going on? Nobody voted in this election. The people didnt vote. Its a coup controlled by the 10 richest families in honduras. The elections are a sham. Get the facts right. The people are being oppressed. Democracy lost with this election. You people need to wake up.

The Democrat party is doing such a good job defending Democracy that small Republics have to vote with the right hand, and look over their left shoulder, to guard against being attacked.
And if Hondurans use troop protection, Democrats call their human rights and press organizations.
Someone here mentioned “power share”… And its true. This whole Obama intervention of Honduras reeks of the Democrat’s Odinga power-share.
Of course, we all know who Democrats are power-sharing for, in the U.S…

So, you’re saying that the photos of people voting in Honduras were all fakes? Right? And the news reports were, of course, controlled by the “10 richest families in Honduras? Right?
Has it occured to you that you are a blithering idiot – or a communist dupe (which would make you a blithering idiot)? Everything that was done was done in strict accordance with the laws and constitution of Honduras. (With the exception of sending zaleys out of the country. He should have been imprisoned in Honduras or placed in house arrest.)
I can only assume that you are just another typical leftoid drone, yammering the leftist gibberish that you’ve been taught. Your sniveling little post certainly is not the result of reasoned consideration of the laws of Honduras and how they were applied.
And, since you’re nothing but a typical little leftoid drone – anything you have to say regarding the freedom of the Honduran people (and the wish of the left to remove it and institute a communist dictatorship) can be ignored without fear of missing anything of import.
You could always move to Venezuala, you know. That’s a nice little communist country. And obama is going to fail in his attempts to socialize America. Americans will see to that.
