Taxpayers are not just paying for Pelosi’s expensive booze and food, they’re paying for the military to play taxi with her kids and grand kids, too.
“Pelosi One” seats 200 and can fly nonstop from Washington to San Francisco.
Doug Ross reported on the latest t*rd to float to the surface in the Pelosi swamp.
Apparently, the Speaker has been using the US military to taxi her kids and grand kids across the country without any US Representatives even on board. The cost of each flight is up to $18,000 per hour.
Using Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, Judicial Watch uncovered thousands of pages of travel documents related to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s use of military aircraft.
What hasn’t been revealed so far is that military aircraft are being used to shuttle Pelosi’s kids and grandkids between DC and San Francisco without any Congressional representatives even onboard! Put simply, the United States Air Force is serving as a multi-billion dollar chauffeur- and baby-sitting service for Nancy Pelosi’s kids and grandkids — presumably because commercial travel is beneath the families of the autocrats.
Truly. She feels your pain.
UPDATE: The Speaker claims her children and grand children never flew without her on board.

Update: Judicial Watch provided separate documents from an earlier FOIA request which show that “most, if not all” of the flights did indeed have the Speaker aboard. This is being researched and, until then, corrections are noted below.
Update II: A commenter provides a link to DOD 4515.13-R “Air Transportation Eligibility”, which seems to indicate any travel by the Speaker’s adult — non-dependent — children and grandchildren is off-limits.

I posted this on Weasel Zippers, but it bears repeating –
Ya know, I work for the Department of Defense as an aircraft mechanic; from time to time, we are required to travel to other bases – sometimes overseas – to perform maintenance on-site. These trips are often made on very short notice. We fly commercial – coach – no frills, and if there are quarters available on base, that’s where we stay. We’re allowed a certain dollar amount for living expenses every day, based upon the area we’re in. We’re allowed a certain dollar amount per night for a hotel (if there are no government quarters available). We’re allowed a certain dollar amount for a rental car – the barest of minimum, usually a subcompact. Most times, this mini-car is too small to carry two mechanics and all the tools we must bring along, so we try to wheel and deal for a larger vehicle. Sometimes we’re successful, sometimes not so much.
I relate this because – at the end of the day – we have to provide receipts, file travel claims, submit the entire package for review and then – THEN – we wait for the thumbs-up-or-down from the travel office. And the decision is final. If we want to bring a spouse along, we pay out of our own pocket. If we drink on the flight, we pay out of our own pocket. And this process is, as far as I’m concerned, eminently fair.
So, what is it that makes Queen Nancy so much better than the mechanics that keep her military “taxi service” up and running? We travel on the cheap, learn to live on a budget, and submit the paperwork for review. Mizzzzz Pelosi, on the other hand, has a fleet of military aircraft at her disposal, just like they were her own personal jets.
This is, I think, total bulls**t and should be investigated and stopped immediately. Somebody needs to grow a set and inform Her Highness that the gravy train has come to a halt.

Nancy Pelosi used the 200 seat plane once when there was no other plane. Other than that one time she uses a much smaller plane to fly between SF and DC. If her family flies with her, she reimburses the cost of a coach seat for each family member.
When she goes on vaction, she flies commerical airlines.
This is not a new story. It dates back to late in 2007.

A G3 has a 4133 gal tank for a max range of about 3500 miles. At civilian average jet A prices of roughly $3.50/gal (non DOD fuel agreement). That’ll cost roughly 14.5k.
A B757 has 11400 gal capacity for about a 3900 mile range. Cost=$39,721.
What’s she taking that costs another 14k per flight? Or is she taking the B757 more than she let’s on?
Remember, these are all max range flight costs which she isn’t doing?

A C5 costs about $92,000 to operate with a 10 man aircrew from Travis AFB to Dover AFB it also burn about 25k lbs of fuel. Or about 6 times as much fuel. That costs about 15k (remember this is all costs including crew pay, maintenence, support, etc.) to burn the same amount of fuel and operate a much costlier plane.
So I ask again what is the 2 pilot crew w support and her staff doing that costs 14k more to operate a more fuel efficient plane than a C5 and their 10 man aircrew (on average)?

The private transportation was authorized by President Bush for Hastert after 9/11 because he was 3rd in line for the WH (Pelosi is also 3rd in line . . . chills go down the spine). However, he only used the smaller plane and only flew to his midwest home.

Nearly as culpable are all the DoD uniformed and civilian members who bumbled along (likely in fear of their jobs) and allowed this to happen.

The use of government planes for her own family is a symptom of a disease that is infecting the whole Nation. Like all tyrants, Pelosi thinks that her government position is a means to enrich and serve her, which is no different than behavior of Communist and National Socialist party bosses. Will these jets fly her to her party provided dacha?
The more power the government wields the more this will become an intractable problem. They take in all the money and decide which selected groups (corporations, affiliated organizations, selected classes) will become the winners. The bosses get to use government resources to live the high life and dole out rewards to their favorites. The rest of us poor slobs get to be poorer through increased taxes and decreased freedom.
Imagine if this woman, along with Reid, Obama, Frank, Dodd and the lot of them are allowed to run the healthcare of the Nation? More power for them, and more influence peddling from affected groups such as the drug companies, hospitals, unions, the states and population classes (which the apparatchiks love to segment into ever finite slivers of grievance groups and human misery) who need to go to the government for everything. The ultimate result of this is a government (as an extension of the Party) that has ALL of the power, so making your business successful or staying alive means you need to be in their favor (watch “Schindler’s List”)
The only way out of this mess is to RETURN TO FREEDOM and the limited government mandated within the Constitution. Spending freeze for three years on certain government programs? What a joke! How about cutting the federal government by 50% and returning the power to the Several States? How about holding the federal government to powers expressly granted to it by the People via the Constitution? Otherwise, I am afraid that Nancy Pelosi’s personal use of our military’s aircraft will just be the tip of the iceberg.

Does it surprise anyone that the Liberal Senator from San Francisco would have it any other way? Spend what isn’t yours to live like royalty, instead of serving with sacrifice the people that work hard to provide for themselves and millions of others who don’t want to work.
It’s time to go “green” and recycle incumbents who serve themselves intstead of us!!

How about a required breathalyzer test for Nancy before she can take over duties in the house? How about she pay for her own booze? I work for government and we can’t buy food at all. Everyone bakes cupcakes and pops popcorn or donates their own cash for pizza for teen groups just to get them to show up and participate. This is a huge double standard. Nancy has the most fake smile and her eyes are sinking into her head from all the free alcohol she drinks that you and I are providing for her and her family, friends, and others. She is out of touch and may need rehab once out of office.
