Jim Hoft

Far left hacks at the Associated Press worked overtime to come up with this outrageous smear-job against attractive Republican Senator Scott Brown. The AP wants to make sure this Republican star is ruined before too many people get to know the man and his family.

“Brown record doesn’t always match everyman image”

The most outrageous insinuation in this hit piece is that Scott Brown would not protect rape victims.

He once proposed an amendment which would have allowed emergency room doctors to deny emergency contraception to rape victims based on the doctor’s religious beliefs, which drew the ire of fellow Republicans. But, Brown voted for the final version of the bill without the amendment.

Similar charges were used by the democratic party during the campaign.

One DNC attack ad was so over the top and dishonest that the Brown Campaign filed a criminal complaint against the democratic party claiming defamation.

Dan Winslow, Brown campaign counsel, explained the basis of the criminal complaint against the Democrats in Massachusetts over the rape flyer to reporters last Saturday. Winslow told reporters,

“Its against the law in Massachusetts to make a statement…a false statement for purposes of trying to affect an election. This is a statute that is within the corrupt practices act of Massachusetts. The purpose is, you can say whatever you like about a person’s positions and you can flavor things as you wish, but you cannot lie to the voters to try to influence an election. That’s just not allowed.”

The AP did not go as far as the Democratic Party flyer but they are pushing the Coakley talking point that Scott Brown’s policies would hurt rape victims.

Here’s more from the AP hit piece:

As he campaigned for the U.S. Senate from the back of his green pickup, Scott Brown portrayed himself as an independent-minded everyman and moderate candidate fighting the Democratic “machine.”

But as a Republican in Massachusetts, Brown sometimes found himself to the right of his own party.

He once proposed an amendment which would have allowed emergency room doctors to deny emergency contraception to rape victims based on the doctor’s religious beliefs, which drew the ire of fellow Republicans. But, Brown voted for the final version of the bill without the amendment…

Although he touted the fact he’d put more than 200,000 miles on his truck, Brown earns a comfortable incomeand owns several properties, including his home in Wrentham, three apartments in Boston and a time share.

Besides his base Senate salary of $61,440, Brown also reported earning up to $20,000 from his National Guard service and between $80,000 and $100,000 from a law practice in 2008, according to his latest financial statement filed with the state.

So the guy works three jobs to make ends meet in Massachusetts and the AP wants to paint him as an elitist? They really will do anything, won’t they, to bring down a popular conservative?

Sweetness and Light takes apart this horrible hit piece on Scott Brown.

Hopefully, Scott Brown has some wise advisors near him who will warn him about the media’s intent to define him as some kind of Republican wackjob before he gets a chance to define himself.

Of course, Media Matters is holding its own smear campaign against Senator Scott Brown too.

He would be wise to take that flyer and have a press conference, holding it in his hand and call any and all media out on it. AND the DNC for starting it in the first place. He has the spot light, he needs to take full advantage. It is time to continue the attack, not be Mr Nice Guy. TAKE IT TO THEM.

Remember this is the same AP that required 12 reporters to review Sarah Palin’s book. They are no stranger to hit pieces, and to be honest it’s hard to tell the difference between the AP and Media Matters…

Here is a bit of advice on how to blunt this. Please, Jim, list all the names of the reporters involved with these obviously partisan and biased hit pieces. Make sure we know all there is to know about each journalist. I suspect we would begin to see the same names appear over and over again.

The Progressives are in full meltdown mode!

Let see, they are trying to smear Scott Brown to kill support among conservatives (I guess Progressives also)…well that made sense prior to his election but what in the world are they thinking?

Who thinks by “smearing” him will make him VOTE for Progressive’s issues!

You idiots! He already won now you need to woo him not make him mad.

I have resolved to not call these guys liberal, they have taken crazy to a whole new level!

They are Progressives, they are slowly progressing to driving themselves off a cliff.

These progressives just don’t get it. There is a growing number of Americans who realize the games being played. The more the leftists play them, the greater the opposition will become in strength and size.

Can’t wait until the November flush with the implosion of reality denying progressive heads.

Here is all you need to know from the how liberal the Republicans are in the New England states:

    From the article:

“He once proposed an amendment which would have allowed emergency room doctors to deny emergency contraception to rape victims based on the doctor’s religious beliefs, which drew the ire of fellow Republicans. But, Brown voted for the final version of the bill without the amendment.”

Excuse me? Since when did the Republican Party became the party that supports the use of “emergency contraception”, which is another code work for abortion?

If this article was graded it would an “F-”. The points that the author made is so biased.

I would encourage any conservative, if their conscience allows, to encourage these people to write articles like this one.

Unlike cockroaches that are intelligent to run and hide when the light is being shined on them Progressives gather and expose themselves.

The left is going at him for voting for the Mass Health Care plan, but promising to vote against the Senate’s bill. What the Republican’s should do is stand on the Capital steps with a copy of the Constitution in hand and ask where health care is defined in the Constitution.

Scott Brown correctly voted for health care in Mass as a right of the states and the people and he and the other Republicans believe that health care should be addressed by the individual states.

Congress should act to remove any obstructions that would hamper the states in implementing market based health care systems.

Keep an eye on both Scott Brown and Sarah Palin because, according to Michelle Malkin, Brown has been making robo-calls in Arizona in support of the reelection of John McCain, and Sarah Palin will be campaigning for him in Arizona. They may feel they have to do this “for the Party”, but that is EXACTLY what got the GOP the reputation of “Gutless Out-of-touch Politicians” or “Geldings On Parade”. It’s time to for the new breed to stand on CONSERVATIVE principles and break from the herd of RINOs. The grassroots will support them if they break away and reject them if they don’t.

Brown owes nothing to anyone. He won with his own brand of politics. The people of Mass put him in office and the rest of the country thanks them for it. Sorry if he is more attractive than Obama but what is is and no amount of fear and loathing by Obama will change that. Check out Mr. Smith Goes To Washington again. The party thought Smith was a light weight until he stood firm on an issue he was passionate about then they were forced to sit up and take notice.

As far as those be-tards in the media are concerned. You gave us the fraud of the century and we will never forgive you for it. Therefore you have no credibility.

Sarah and Scott are campaigning for McCain because they owe him a favor and they agree with him on some issues. McCain supported Brown from the beginning of his campaign and McCain brought Palin to national notice. I don’t like some of McCains stands but I will not trash him for everything. He believes in hands across the aisle and that is the way it should be. Unfortunately, a bunch of snapping and snarling wolves are across the aisle from him
and it is useless to try to compromise with them. Their idea of compromise is to agree with them and don’t make waves.

Actuall, I was glad to read the AP article. I had been just a little leery about Brown with him being from Mass. but the article relieved my mind. It told me some things I did not know like being a fiscal conservative with his own finances and working to earn his money instead of stealing it.

Probably the AP is gearing up for Scott’s re-election. Trashing a popular figure takes time. Then again, they could have the idea that if they trash him enough he will vote their way in order for them to stop trashing him. They have no conception of integrity and honor. They think such things are for weasels and wimps. Ends justify the means, you know.

Deleuze & Guattari were right: hierarchies never, ever understand rhizomic organizations. The Leftist elites cannot comprehend what this tea party movement is. For instance:

“And in the final weeks of the campaign, Brown benefited from the financial backing of conservative groups like the Tea Party Movement…”

Who all here has been to the Tea Party Movement headquarters building? Where is it at? Who’s the CEO? What’s their financial status? Who does their PR? What ad agency do they work with?

Of course, this is absurdity. The movement is rhizomic… a sea of blades of grass, a canopy of self-organizing individuals sharing a common interest. As D&G appropriately observe, it’s not only misunderstood and feared by the elite hierarchies, but also deadly to them. The sea of bloggers and tea partiers has no center that can be bribed, intimidated, controlled or destroyed. Take out one and another two replace it. It’s a confluence of self organizing order arising from the sea of political chaos.

Expect much more of this sort of reaction as the hierarchy flails about, desperately seeking a hierarchical target to destroy.

If Brown is paying for 2 kids in college that could be $50,000 a year. If either of them had to have braces on their teeth that’s easily $30,000. A time share? They are usually worthless. I’d have to see the apartments. The fact that the AP was not involved in this election is why we won.

So, if you have a comfortable income, you’re a hypocrite if you like trucks?

Or is it that if you come up from nothing to have not just your own home, but several rental properties and a time share as well, if you drive a truck, you’re a hypocrite?

Where is this rule book that tells us how we’re supposed to act at each level of income?

How classist they are. They have people so divided into classes and races, they seem to think it is unusual for a middle class person to drive a truck.

It’s amazing to me how often the media or some leftist will try to smear somebody with some details that apparently are hateful or prove mendacity or whatever, and it just provokes a big shrug out of me. Whoa, Scott Brown drives a truck but made $150,000 or so in 2008? Well, I should just light my hair on fire and scream and yell about it then. By the way, how much money are our would-be overlords in the Senate that Scott Brown just joined making? It wouldn’t surprise me to see them making money hand over fist, and it wouldn’t surprise me that they were doing it through corruption as opposed to actually working for a living.

And I agree: Tactically, smearing the guy AFTER the election is kind of pointless. But then, we all saw how the smears against Sarah Palin only intensified after she lost her bid to be VPOTUS, so I guess going after popular candidates with a vengeance AFTER the election is over is now just the normal thing to do.

What about the hurt felt by medical staff in emergency rooms being forced to give drugs to rape victims to terminate a possible pregnancy? Should those whose beliefs it would go against be stomped upon for the beliefs of others? Most pro-lifers believe life begins at conception, so why should people have to be an accomplice in the termination of a life? Scott Brown is pro-choice anyhow, so it seems he is defending pro-lifers’ rights to their beliefs to be upheld.

What really makes the MSM angry is that Scott Brown was under the radar until the last week of the campaign. As for the three jobs, it shows that he knows how to work for a living instead of living off the government teat.

So, because the man wears many hats, is industrious, and makes an honest living – the Dems consider this to be a bad thing?

Oh…yeah…I forgot. Those idiots in Congress probably never worked a private sector job in their lives and probably won’t be able to get one after they get thrown out on their keesters in November.

That’s all they’ve got? Sixteen months ago they could afford to send 150 reporters to Alaska and today they can hardly even pull a smear in Massachusetts. Either they’ve run out of money or all their reporters are in for knee transplant surgery after performing on Obama all these months.

“It’s time to for the new breed to stand on CONSERVATIVE principles and break from the herd of RINOs.”

Ummm —NO. It’s NOT, but this is just an opinion matter so you might well be correct as far as it goes. But Brown is absolutely correct in self-identifying as an Independent. He does not need the self-limiting ‘movement conservatives’ in order to win re-election in Massachusetts. In fact, embracing their myopic visions would ensure his defeat in 2012. He has spelled out his modus operandi very clearly over the past few days. He won’t be a rubber stamp for unthinking ideological response patterns.

As he says —– He is first of all the representative of his State and will vote according to its perceived interests above all else. When he can reconcile Massachusetts values with ‘movement’ values he will support ‘conservative’ thingys, and when he can’t — he won’t. If he wants to support McCain — He will. His State voters will approve. That’s all he wants or needs.

As perfectly evidenced by the events of this week, Brown needs ‘conservatives’ a LOT less than they need him. And this situation will continue as far as the eye can see.

    Just FYI and all.

When Obama makes crude comments about Brown’s truck he shows who the real elitist is. Now he just can’t wait to destroy Brown because no one else should ever get the spotlight with Obama around. Its rather pathetic and it shows Obama’s insecurity. Definitely not Presidential timber there.

The more the DNC smears Scott Brown, the more they convince the Massachusetts voters they made the right decision. The DNC have established a pattern of lie and smear that is predictable and tiresome.

I just hope that he does not cave to John McCain and his ilk that constantly talk about reaching across the aisle. I dont think he was elected to “reach across the aisle” to further the socilaist agenda of the Democrats. If he does that he will have destroyed any credibility he has with the Tea Party Movement that worked to elect him and betrayed their trust…..

Your points are correct if you simply want to delay the inevitable national slide into Communism. Brown’s priorities and compromises for Massachusetts voters will probably keep him there if emotions stay high against Liberals because it is still a very blue state. My concern is for the nation, and nationally, Conservatism trumps RINOism every time…Gerald Ford, G.H.W. Bush, Bob Dole, and John McCain proved that point in spades.

They think they can do to Scott what they did to Sarah but it is not going to stick! The msm is so lame, people are laughing at them and they don’t have the brains to know it. The train is coming down the track and the msm cannot stop it. Come Nov. there is going to be a whole lot of cheeky dems out looking for jobs, any job, mow your lawn sir? clean your windshield miss? And you know, just like the lies and rumors that they started about Palin, people will go to their graves believing the lies about Brown. You can try to inform them and correct them and they may even appear to be taking it in while you’re telling them, but it’s too late. The lies have been programmed or etched into them and the next time you hear them speak of it again, it’ll be the lies and rumors again.

Lightenup, we’re probably both right. You’re right in that less people will be easily fooled into believing the lies about Brown than they were with Palin. I’m right in that those who do believe the lies, will believe them forever.
