Almost 250 children under the age of five died in a wave of intensely cold weather in Peru this July.

Will these junk scientists ever stop?
Peruvian mountain people face extinction due to unusually cold winters the past 4 years.
Global Warming is blamed.
The Guardian reported:

For alpaca farmer Ignacio Beneto Huamani and his young family, life in the Peruvian Andes, at almost 4,700m above sea level, has always been a struggle against the elements. His village of Pichccahuasi, in Peru’s Huancavelica region, is little more than a collection of small thatched shelters and herds of alpaca surrounded by beautiful, yet bleakly inhospitable, mountain terrain.

The few hundred people who live here are hardened to poverty and months of sub-zero temperatures during the long winter. But, for the fourth year running, the cold came early. First their animals and now their children are dying and in such escalating numbers that many fear that life in the village may be rapidly approaching an end.

In a world growing ever hotter, Huancavelica is an anomaly. These communities, living at the edge of what is possible, face extinction because of increasingly cold conditions in their own microclimate, which may have been altered by the rapid melting of the glaciers.

A consequence is that Quechua-speaking farmers and their families, who have managed to subsist for centuries at high altitude, believe they may not make it through the next southern winter.

    4,700 m = 4700 X 3 = roughly 14,000 feet
    Damn straight it’s cold there.
The upper atmosphere is COLD, and because it’s cold it doesn’t hold hardly any WATER VAPOR, so it’s DRY. Water absorbs heat and releases it slowly, less water, less heat.

Don’t suppose it’s something ELSE, like poor HYGIENE or perhaps NO VACCINATIONS.

WHy that would be Occam’s Razor or in modern parlance: The Scooby-Do approach. It looks supernatural, but it always turns out to be someone trying to steal something… in this case taxpayer money.

Very cold in Peru, people dying,
    presumably last June.
” increasingly cold conditions in their own microclimate”

    Meanwhile in the Northern Hemisphere:
Pretty cold in the US, freeze warnings in Florida.
    Cold in Europe.
    Record cold in China.

    We’re experiencing some pretty big
    “microclimates” of “cold conditions”.

Of course global warming (and Bush) is to blame: USA has global warming, so other places obviously must get colder to even out. Obarmy should send some of the global warming we have here in January to the poor people in Peru.

    Jim –
Totally OT, but you MUST do something about the GoogleAds that appear on your site. Many of the ones I see are pushing vicious Palestinian propaganda (“Palestinian Holocaust” !!!!!) from “Islam Online”. It’s horrible. Please do something about this quickly.

Obummer’s State of the Union Address Draft:

I Obummer have created more jobs than any president since George Washington. I Obummer have identified Global Warming as a Threat to my administration. It had been getting warmer each day of my presidency. It is all Bush’s fault. Christians cling to their bitter religion and to their guns. Yemen ideologies are the model for our future ideas on how to combat the evil republicans who have old women that need to be exterminated. Fisting Kits and Child group sex manuals will help establish our schools as progressive play grounds for Democratic perverse grown – up desires. Nuclear Weapons in the hands of the Taliban is an Islamic rite, in which I bow —–low in reverence. The U.S.A. is the most racist place that has ever existed. If I did not steal the election with my Acorn outfit and Chicago manhandling style, there would never have been a Kenyan born leader of the most intolerant imperialist nation in which I seek to change by Hope and audacity. My goal is to bankrupt our nation, as I told that white suppressor ‘Joe the Plumber.” My control of the media will tell you the opposite so that by 2012 we can collapse the evil U.S.A. and I can resuscitate the Iranian Empire of benevolence and eliminate the evil Israeli plan on morals and decency. My first year in office was just the beginning of this overwhelmingly success of changing the Divided States of Aunmericanas. My goal is to hand out stimulus monies and get the interest rates skyrocketing, so as to collapse the states and public institutions. My rich friends can weather the economic storm, so the little people will be forced to reckon with my apologetic mannerism to appease the dictator ideologies so long needed in view of the evil Democratic way of the western civilization. One day, my hope is that you change from bowing down to your Lord and I hope that with the audacity of hope you will learn to bow to me as I pass the Constitution into the trash can and enact shariah law. MSNBC and CNN and the media are all under my thumb. You cannot escape. I Pay-of my special interest hommies and you are my tax slaves — you people that believe in freedoms of speech and action. Your days are numbered because I have but a short time.

–Barack Hussein Obummer. Not the 44 th President but the 1 st Anti-American leader of the former U.S.A.

Umm, ok, let me get this straight. They live up in the mountains surrounded by glaciers–which, btw, is a dumb place to set up shop to begin with. Unless you’re putting in a modern ski resort. They’re not.

So the glaciers melted, cause it was too warm. Instead of allowing them to grow more crops to feed themselves, the glacial melting has now made it too cold. But the glaciers are still gone, even though it is really cold. Too cold for glaciers. And so now they can’t grow any food.

So either someone has discovered a new quirk in the universe whereby rising temperatures make things colder, or, warmists and their fan boys (and girls) are a bunch of complete loons.

“climate change” is the perfect name because you can blame everything on it since the friggin’ climate IS always changing.

For a laugh, you all might find this link as hysterically funny as I do. Last count, 690 things blamed on ‘global warming’ by a guy in the UK. So in case you run out of things to blame on AGW? Just ask this guy!?

I wonder if it ever occured to these idiots who write these articles to actually check the climate. The climate is cooling, has been for a few years now, and what we see going on here is a result of global cooling, which is much more devestating than warming.

The northern hemisphere is suffering in one of the coldest winters in quite a long time, and the warmist jerks still can’t see it. Cut them off from the government tit and they will change their tune. These people should all be unemployed, beginning with the professors at these colleges who made up this bunk.

Noticed that the villages earn their income from alpaca. Cold weather makes for heavy coats.
Farming at 14,000 ft is pretty much zero normally, so they must trade (barter) and buy for most of what they need.
Probably burned up what few trees there at at those altitudes for cooking fires.
If the global warming fanatics were actually kind folks who actually CARED about remote villagers at 14,000 ft, they’d have made sure the poor people could get cheap, plentiful gas cookers and gas supplies.

The writer of this story leaves the impression that people are freezing in sub-zero conditions right now. It summer in Peru and the Weather Channel has the area at a balmy 60 degrees even at 10,000 feet. If so many people are dying and this is a humanitarian disaster then why is this Guardian story the only one that mentions it. Every other blog and news source cites this story as their source. I have seen no news source independently verify this story.
