Three Missouri Republicans moved into “contender” status in this year’s Congressional races.
– Including Ed Martin in St. Louis.

Ed Martin is running against the very liberal Russ Carnahan in the 3rd Congressional District. You can help conservative Ed Martin out by donating to his historic campaign here.

The three Missouri Republicans that jumped to contender status:
Vicky Hartzler (MO-04)
Ed Martin (MO-03)
Bill Stouffer (MO-04)

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released this news this morning:

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) today announced its next round of ‘Contender’ candidates and a new round of ‘On the Radar’ candidates as part of its Young Guns recruitment program. Originally founded in the 2007-2008 election cycle by Reps. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Paul Ryan (R-WI) as a member-driven organization, the Young Guns program has become an official NRCC effort dedicated to electing open-seat and challenger candidates nationwide. These candidates have proven their ability to build a successful campaign structure and achieve important goals and benchmarks. Those 14 candidates reaching ‘On the Radar’ status have already taken the first of three steps toward reaching Young Guns status, while the 15 new ‘Contender’-status candidates have exceeded the ‘On the Radar’ goals and have now reached the second step of the program.

“These candidates are putting the pieces of a winning campaign in place by meeting the rigorous goals laid out by the Young Guns program and aggressively paving their way toward victory on Election Day,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions. “The progress of these candidates is not only a testament to the Young Guns program, it is a sign of the hostile political environment that Democrats have created for themselves. As these challengers continue to meet the benchmarks we have set for them, they are ready to hold Democrats accountable for the unpopular big-government agenda they continue to push at the expense of economic recovery.”

While already achieving certain benchmarks to place them on the road to victory, ‘On the Radar’ and ‘Contender’ candidates now face a new set of rigorous benchmarks that will continue to help them build competitive, effective and winning campaigns.

The NRCC’s ‘On The Radar’ and ‘Contender’ Candidates Are:

Contender:

Randy Altschuler (NY-01)
Jon Barela (NM-01)
Rob Cornilles (OR-01)
Charles Djou (HI-01)
Robert Dold (IL-10)
Sean Duffy (WI-07)
Keith Fimian (VA-11)
Ryan Frazier (CO-07)
Vicky Hartzler (MO-04)
Randy Hultgren (IL-14)
Adam Kinzinger (IL-11)
Ed Martin (MO-03)
Scott Rigell (VA-02)
Bill Stouffer (MO-04)
Tim Walberg (MI-07)

On the Radar:

Jack Bailey (TN-04)
Scott Bruun (OR-05)
Larry Bucshon (IN-08)
Francisco Canseco (TX-23)
Blake Curd (SD-AL)
Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-08)
Jim Gibbons (IA-03)
Paul Gosar (AZ-01)
Joe Heck (NV-03)
Mike Keown (GA-02)
David McKinley (WV-01)
Brian Rooney (MI-07
Scott Tipton (CO-03)
Jackie Walorski (IN-02)

Also, keep an eye on Charles Djou in Hawaii. He’s a very charismatic young patriot and conservative who could make history this November.

UPDATE: Here’s a terrific Ed Martin ad that was released this week:

That was one of the best political ads I’ve seen.

And now I just read at AceofSpades that John Murtha has died.

Yes. Charles Djou is great – respected, extremely well-educated (Wharton) fiscal conservative. In a special election in a few months and with so many Dems running (no primary), he could win.

I wore out more than one pair of shoes in MO-3 trying to get rid of Gephardt in two elections. Many voters there, especially some of the Catholics, were really stupid.

You’d walk up to a house, see a statue of the Virgin or a pro-life sticker on the car, and the home’s occupant would argue that Democrat policies are the best for America. These people could not even state what the policies were.

I can take you back to EXACT houses in the city and county where I heard this…it was demoralizing. The neighborhood I where I grew up, tidy brick homes with perfect lawns, is now a section 8 slum. The frogs stayed in the boiling pot.

Maybe now that these fools are losing their jobs and homes they’ll wake up. Ed Martin is the Carnahan antidote.

    Ladue Pundit,

I live in the 3rd District and also an Ed Martin Volunteer. Perhaps the next time you can point out that Russ Carnahan’s wife is a “former” Planned Parenthood Board Member:

This site is sort of fun even though like Wikipedia I don’t know if I would completely trust the information, actually I guess that make it a member of the Main Stream Media.

Vickie Hartlzer against “IKE”, what a dream matchup. I know Vickie, and…my family will be working on her campaign. She is a feisty gal, and she works for her constituents. It will be nice to see that old fool finally get retired.

For Freedom and REAL Jobs!! I like this guy…Ed Martin! I’m Smiling! Thanks! I’m in SC SOoooo…We will elect a Governor! I’m going for Henry McMaster! The First Attorney General to challenge the HC Bill, which, as Ed Martin points out ….is PUNISHABLE by Fines or Jail! God Bless!

I stumped for most anyone who ran against Gephardt. Last time I campaigned for someone for the 3rd district seat was in ‘04. I forget the dude’s name. If you know St. Louis, I was doing the south county area just west of the River de Stink and south of Gravois – very blue collar.

    Big Mo

In 2004 Bill Federer (R) ran against Russ Carnahan and obviously he and those, like myself, who live in the 3rd district lost also.

It’s kind of odd here in Jefferson County in that we have mostly Democrats running the county but they are Conservative Democrats. It’s the national election that people vote for liberal Democrats.

EXCELLENT AD. I hope to see this on TV over and over and over again thru election day. It is quite effective.
Love the way the ad ties Carnahan with Obama, Reid and Pelosi, all very unpopular.
Was glad to see that Carnahan’s thugs at the townhall have not been forgotten. I knew that Carnahan’s brother benefitted from the bogus stimulus bill, but did not know the price tag.

I hope a similarly effective ad is being created to fight against Rubber Stamp Russ’s sister, Robin, who is running for the US Senate.

I agree with a previous post, that people in Jefferson County are nothing but Democrat zombies. They mindlessly vote for the very Democrats who are taxing them to death and destroying thier country. Can’t fix stupid.
